Ashan scribbles on a piece of parchament, the edges of the page charred;
Exarch Nahum, last eve I tried to find you in the tower but alas you must have been asleep in your chamber and I dared not disturb.
I witnessed something yesterday that I was told to bring to your attention.
A large shadow creature was destroyed just outside of Beregost and I layed witness to this. It appears as if the many townsfolk there were helped by a Solar (well that is what he said he was.)
The solar spoke afterward of the Ramset coming, something about a family of Liches and a vampire daughter. He also mentioned that he would be punished for interfering on the surface so I should expect we may recieve no further divine help.
He told that the family must be destroyed and that the daughter could not be killed by ordinary silver. That an ore sent from the light gods in the form of a meteor would have to be used. My memory fails me but I believe it may be called solar silver.
Anyway, the solar said that this must be brought to your attention and alas I took it upon myself to deliver this news. He said you knew of a meteor that had struck recently.
I know nothing of this Ramset or vampire due to my absense, rest assured you can count on me as always in whatever capacity I am required.
Signed
Ashan

Ashan,
I thank you for your sending word of the Ramset's return. I had hoped that they would have left us given their silence but I am obviously mistaken. As I write this, weapons are being crafted of this silver in preparation for their full return.
Do not go on the offense without being armed or with companions armed with such things. Be prepared however, I feel their final attack being prepared ((this Friday and Saturday)). I will inform the others. I will not be able to go with you as you face them. My place will be in our tower, preparing the spells that will help contain their necromatic powers from growing too strong along with other fellow Weave Masters ((i.e. the other WM's who won't be able to join the event )).
My prayers along with my magic will be with you all.
Signed, Exarch Nahum ~~~~~ooo~~~~~

After some conversation with Magus Elias Goodmane at Candlekeep, Nahum seemed disturbed and perhaps even confused. Elias made mention of a recent dealing with Justin Crownsilver and gifts of peace through some donations to the Weave Masters. Elias mentioned of his sincerity and goodwill. Recently as well, in an encounter with the Ramset vampire child, Nahum noticed a moment of peace and goodwill between the two of them... much like when they fought together so many months ago. Had he gotten Justin wrong? Had he allowed his emotions to gain hold of him? Nahum pauses to himself and then retrieves a parchment and quill. ~~~~~ooo~~~~~ Sir Justin Crownsilver,
I am unsure how to express this but I am thankful for the scrolls and items that you gave to my kinsmen through Weave Magus Elias. Your gift was an unexpected though pleasant surprise. They will be of great help in the studies of the apprentices that come here to study. The Weave Masters thank you.
It made me look back at our most recent... difference of opinion and began to look at things through your eyes. I then began to see why you had gotten upset at my inaction to aid you as you attempted to capture or slay the drow in Cloakwood. In reaching this epiphany, I am ashamed to realize that I allowed my own emotions to get the better of me as I faced the Duke.
I ask however that you understand my position in things. I follow Mystra indeed but I was raised an Ilmatarii. As such, patience, grace, and forgiveness are tenets that I live by. Should an enemy ask for parley, especially under a banner of peace, I am almost bound to grant it. The drow we encountered, though vile to my sight, did not advance upon me with threat or malice --- nor did he threaten to harm another. Please understand that I could not then turn and inflict harm upon him. Though I mistrusted him, he came under a banner of peace and so with peace I let him depart. Perhaps you have encountered such things in your experiences in the fields of battle? I suspect that a knight of your virtue would not slay a man holding a white flag for parley.
In short, I ask your forgiveness for words exchanged in anger or for dishonoring you before the Duke. I suspect that we will have our differences in the way we approach things but rest assured that this land's safety is a priority to me and my guild. It is our home as well. Perhaps we can agree to disagree whilst fighting alongside each other in the defense of good and peace. I confess that I was humbled to be able to fight alongside you again as we faced the Ramset child earlier this week. I can only pray that it will not be the last time.
Signed with humility, Nahum Ithilduin

Posted inside the entrance on a wall inside Istari Tower.
My fellow Weavemasters,
I have recieved many donations from friends of our order as of late. The good Justin Crownsilver, Ujiio, and others who wish to remain anonymous have shown their support to our cause though these gifts. If you see these people, please let them know that it is much appreciated.
Many of these are ideal for the apprentices of our order. Most are in the form of spell scrolls, though there are a few items of magic power as well. If you wish to know more about these donations, please feel free to ask. They will be distributed to any among the Weavemaster who have need of them.
Weave Magus Elias Goodmane

Lyra leaves a message for everyone:
I was attacked the other day by some strange creatures. They were devil like in appearance with frilled ears, azure scales, and a massive horn on its snout. A smell of the planes came with it. Most noteable however was its massive tail. I fought no less than six of these, and one other that was larger and breathed fire, as well as returning some of the damage inflicted upon it. Please be wary venturing out of the city after sunset, as they appear to only attack after nightfall. They appear to have been summoned directly to our location, as even their tracks appeared from nowhere. If anyone comes across any more information about them, please let me know. -Lyra

nahum,
i am writing on behalf of arkaine. his condition is unchanged, and i feel that a bit of assistance is needed. he can tell you much more than i about what he is going through. i ask that a meeting be arranged between the two of you. even if you do not directly know how to aid him, you would know who to refer him to better than i.

Weave Masters,
I came upon something I have never seen in all my days. I was making my weekly trip to Beregost when I stumbled upon a group from Baldurs' fighting for their lives against what I later learned were Iron Golems... Seems they were somehow linked to a mythral golem they are keeping under observation at Candlekeep. Might be worth looking into.

It was a rainy day in early Mirtul. A nervous young gnome arrived at the door of the Weave Masters' tower. The glinting sun off the shining stones caused his eyes to squint a bit. He exhaled sharply and raised his hand ro rap on the door. To his surprise, the door swung open, and his clenched fist struck nothing but air. He stepped back a bit as the formidable Weave Guardian stepped out of the doorway.
"Good afternoon. What do you want, little one?"
The gnome quickly regained his composure and his fears were abated. The guardian, though formidable, spoke in a very friendly tone.
"Oh, er...nothin' much. Oi was jus' runnin' by Jorn's place today--you know what noice 'taters he's got--and then I met this tall 'un. By the way, ye need some 'taters in this 'ere place? I gots noice 'uns from Jorn. 'alf again as big as any others ye'd find. My family's all been in the 'tater peddlin' business fer a long time, ye know."
The guardian, a bit impatient, but still civil, asked again as the gnome quickly diverted the converstaion.
"What did you come here for, gnome? Our time is precious."
The gnome looked up at him, and apologized for his dilatory chatting.
"Oh, yes, well, this feller walked up an' gave me this pouch o' coins, plus a scroll, an' said fer me to bring it 'ere. It's fer some lady 'e calls Miss Tia'nen...or somethin'. Scary type. All in black with some creepy mask tha' look'd loike a skeller-ton's 'ead."
The Weave Guardian took the scroll from the gnome and closed the door. Normally, he wouldn't read another's mail, but the sender of the letter sounded less-than friendly. For all he knew, it might have a curse or explosive rune placed on it. He opened it gingerly, slowly unravelling the scroll. It read the following:
------------------------------------------------------ To Miss Tia'nen of the Weave Scouts:
I have something for you that you'll be interested in. I'll give it to you by the road at some point if I ever find you alone. Keep an eye out at all times for a note bearing my signature. I think there is little more to be said, except by you, someday.
To your voice's safe return,
The Watcher ------------------------------------------------------
The young Guardian rolled up the scroll, looking quickly around to see if anyone was watching him. He innocently laid the scroll on the nearby table with a sideways glance, and awaited Lyra's return.

Lyra claims the scroll, pausing over it a few moments, before smiling and tucking it away. She writes her own message for a few others, before settling into her room to pen a few reports.

Nahum reads Lyra's reports and responds. ~~~~~ooo~~~~~ Lyra,
I trust your judgment on the two men and one woman you spoke of in your reports. They may perhaps be mere troublemakers but keep them in the corner of your eye nonetheless.
In regards to your reports on the Mithral Golem and Iron Golems fighting each other, I found that curious indeed. And did I read it correctly that you mentioned the Mithral Golem flew away? Should you encounter them again, try to find out who their makers are and why they were harvesting the rocks you mentioned. I will have the green rock you sent in with the reports examined. ((Who was the DM so I can ask him the results?))
As for the components of the permanent spell of amplification, I fear your friend may have given your the list for a different spell. Rest assured that I am doing what I can to get your voice back. I will seek out Mystra herself to resolve this.
May the Weave protect you, Exarch Nahum~~~~~ooo~~~~~

Nahum, We encountered the golems once more, attacking within Candlekeep. Once more we saw the mithral golem, and the agressive iron golems that were drawn to it. Your questions were asked, but we received no response. It again put an emerald into its back when I left one for it. We were healed and asked to leave by the monks, and followed the golem past more iron golems, to the site of yet another crater. This one was also filled with emeralds once a mage melted the stones. I witnessed the golem being revived after the fire, by emeralds being given to it. One of the others kept saying that the golems came from the ground. With the second crater there, it is my belief that there may be something happening below the ground. We will have to investigate more. Without those with greedy fingers and deaf ears with us.
I spoke with Glaran, the grey dwarf that helped Ujio. He is a friend of Chloe's as well. The three of us spoke some time about what had happened, and why he did what he did. He said that he saw an emissary from Ramset, a shade with glowing eyes, and then the surfacer warlock he had seen earlier here, and was wearing similar armor to the one we saw "that had a fiend summoned next to him during that business with the giant red dragon". He said later that the surfacer warlock was oddly polite to the human mage when they were bound, saying things like sorry m'lady. Glaran believed he was going to support only the winning side. That the drow left Glaran to die after a battle with some of our group, so Glaran choose then to help them out, and told Ujio to have a go at them, which is when he freed the others from the duergar prisons. Glaran himself fought a drow warlock that Ujio and others were fighting, before they were all hit by a spell. Thats when the drow put Keagan and Ujio against each other for their freedom. However, Glaran says that drow -never- let prisoners go. My bet is that they are tracking Ujio somehow. We need to examine that wound of his further, for any magic that might be within. I will keep an eye out for other ways of following. Another piece of information from Glaran, is that he believes Ramset has all of the city of mages there backing him up. And he didnt once see any other undead besides the shade, unlike Chloe who saw those that were guarding the daughter. I will try to find out more, before we leave with Chloe. -Lyra

Nahum, We fought quite a number of nisharuu near Candlekeep the other day. They were seeking you specifically, and they said that you had closed their gate. That you would reopen their gate or the whole guild would perish. We managed to defeat all that we could find, but only with the help of Candlekeep, and Mystra herself. We would have all died there if she had not sent us back once more as we all fell to the nisharuu. I have recovered my voice, but it is still possible there are others out there, still looking for you. Those we defeated believed you to be in the Spellflicker Tower, but that will not always be the case. One of the mages there I do not know, is looking for you as well, wanting to meet with you to find out more about why they were looking for you. His name is Sarithul, I did not say anything specifically to him, until I know more and whether you would want to meet with him. He is the one that ran for help by the looks of things. Also there was another earthquake near Candlekeep again. We did not find anything there, but will continue looking. Before I forget again, I forgot to mention in my last message, but Glaran did give us a name for one that was in the Underdark. Not sure if it will help much at this point, but the name was Raenir. Hopefully it may be of some use. -Lyra

*A small package and a scroll-case containing a letter arrive at the Tower addressed to Exarch Nahum. The package is no larger than the palm of his hand and the letter reads…*
Exarch Nahum,
The package you have received contains a device used for deciphering encrypted messages. It is a tool crafted by the rock gnomes who live near my homeland and has been in my family for genterations. Only someone in possession of a device such as this may decipher the contents of a message encrypted by a device fashioned in the same manner.
Given the parlence of our times and the confidentiality of information that is requested by the Weave Masters on my behalf, I feel it wise to use this tool as a means of integrity.
As of now you are the only person that is in possession of a device such as this. I do have other devices such as this and am able to give them to the appropriate members of our order upon your request.
You will need the device to read the following....

Lyra, The gemstone you sent me which I had examined proved to be a normal gemstone --- normal only in the sense that it does not have any special properties. It is not normal however in that it is not a gem normally found in Abeir-Toril. I am unsure what this all means but I have a feeling you will help find the answer to all this. As for the Underdark, we need to prepare for our trip to the Underdark to retrieve our Weave Captain's body. Make contact with Glaran and Chloe. We will need their knowledge once we are prepared and ready. As for the Nisharuu, I was well aware of their presence hence my inability to join you in battling them. I had to bring in fellow Weave Masters to the tower in order to help close the portal to prevent more from entering our plane. I am thankful for Mystra's intervention in helping you to defeat them. I am especially thankful that your voice has been restored. It pained me to have had you suffer in the way that you did for so long. May the Weave protect you. Exarch Nahum[/i] ~~~~~ooo~~~~~
