((Please post all Weave Master correspondences and in-character posts here. I'm envisioning using the guild forum for administrative purposes. It's hard to keep track of membership sheets with the conversation going on in between. Please keep it to in-character posts. Thanks!))

A note is posted inside the guild's inner walls addressed to all guild members.... ~~~~~~ooo~~~~~~~~ Brethren,
I have a task for you. Please visit the various merchants in the surrounding area and send me which spells are available where and at what cost. They are often able to sell the scrolls much cheaper than the materials we use to make them ourselves. Send me a letter with this information and I will post them for all to see. Your time will be appreciated ((consider it as 1 guild event per merchant visited)).
Sincerely, Exarch Nahum~~~~~~ooo~~~~~~~~ ((guild quest still active))

The following letter is written on rough parchments, rolled tightly in a scroll tube, and delivered directly to Nahum by a large black raven…
I will attest to Adept Goodmane’s account of our great battle at the Wood of Sharp Teeth. The forces that were prepared to strike at Baldur’s Gate that day were strong indeed, and if not for the happenstance of many armed men in the area, this attack would have long left it’s mark on the city. Alas, as Elias has said, this strike may be yet to come…
However the purpose of this letter is not to recount the events of that day, as it seems Adept Goodmane has done quite well relaying the facts. My purpose in writing is to bring to your attention the bravery and skill in diplomacy that Adept Goodmane proved on that hill. Without his willingness to move forward with such a bold plan, we may have all perished. Your order is stronger for having him. Bravery in the face of such odds is to be commended.
Always at the Ready, Kahlen Windsoul

Elias walks slowly, and wearily up to the uncompleted tower, sighs heavily, and hands a letter the size of a small book to the nearest worker. "Post this where all may see it that pass through to look at the progress on the tower." he tells the nearest person to him. The man scrolls over the letter, and hastily runs to find the tools he needs to post it on the outer wall facing the street.
Fellow Weave Masters,
It is with great concern that I pen this letter. Last night I was taking my nightly stroll along the trade route, talking with a fellow traveller when we heard the thundering of hundreds of drums. We made our way slowly toward the drumming, and came across several well armed adventurers ready to investigate the source of the commotion. As we neared the Woods of Sharp Teeth the drumming increased until it was pounding in our chests as well as our ears. Not far into the forest we were attacked by several waves of orcs and a handful of giants! After finding a defensible position upon a hillock, we discussed our limited options for a length of time. Fear grew in us as we knew we were outnumbered by many, many adventurers fled making matters even worse for those of us which remained. Finally it was decided that we go and talk to the brutish forces leader, (a task for which I was first nominated)! Of course action had to be taken, so I unarmed myself, and made my way down to their leader. The man who nominated me decided to accompany me (mostly out of guilt for nominating me in the first place I think). After lengthy discussion with the leader of the brutish force, we discovered that it was an undead necromancer who had raised an army to conquer Baldur's Gate! He promised the band of brutes riches, and to make them lords over the land they conquer. With the help of the other fellow we encouraged the brutes to alter their course, and tell us where we might find this necromancer. After several skirmishes with undead we finally had a clear path to the evil one. As we approached we realized he had enlisted the aid of a great demon! I was knocked unconcious during the final battle, when I awoke I was informed by pending Guardian Kahlen Windsoul that though the mage was gone, he had vanished, and was not defeated! My friends, this necromancer poses a threat not only to Baldur's Gate, but to the Weave itself with the powerful magic he commands! We must pool our resources, and keep others in the land informed on this matter, as it is not to be taken lightly. I retire now to my study, to examine a few pieces of lore that I have collected on the subject of outsiders, and the undead.

A letter is penned and delivered to Elias Goodmane by a messenger.
Weave Adept Elias,
Your leadership and courage has been made known to me through other sources and your actions were befitting to that of a Weave Master. Your accounts of this necromancer is troubling indeed. I will pen a missive to notify the Dukes of this pending threat. This mage you speak of should be stopped. His desire to conquer Baldur's Gate is threat enough but his blatant willingness to open gates to the Hells is far more dangerous. These beings that he summons will be looking for ways to keep these gates open. Consider your request granted. Be steadfast in your studies. Dangers like these are a common place in these times. We'll need your heart and skills to help stem the tide.
May the Weave protect you, Weave Exarch Nahum

A note is posted inside the guild's inner walls addressed to all guild members.... ~~~~~~ooo~~~~~~~~ Brethren,
I have a task for you if you so wish it. The abandoned mines in Eastern Cloakwood are being infested by more than just bugbears. While exploring the caves by myself, I was caught off guard by the danger that I faced there. I was ambushed by eye tyrants which stripped away the magics that protected me. I was able to defeat them but not without incurring much harm to myself. The miners must have accidentally opened a path to some underground network into the Underdark. We need to thin their numbers lest they pose more of a danger than they are already. Give me the stalks of two of these beholders and your reputation within the fellowship will grow.
May the Weave protect you, Exarch Nahum~~~~~~ooo~~~~~~~~ (( guild quest active from 10/13/08 8:00am PST to 10/27/08 8:00am PST.Notes: -Some proof from another PC is preferred (have that person PM me or name them in the IC forum post) but honor system will be accepted as proof (if you fought them alone). -Each guild member participating in the same group must have 2 "kills" of their own. -You must go to the location where the beholder dies to RP cutting out the stalks. -Once accomplished, write an IC forum post (which will count on your membership sheet) or PM me and I will note it in this post -This guild quest is worth 100 reputation points ))

A note is posted outside Istari tower for all to see. ~~~~~~~~~ooo~~~~~~~~~ Memorandum of Protection
Let it be known that the following extra-planars are under the protection of the Weave Masters: Lana Kelm, air genasi and Weave Master. Ashan Tane, fire genasi and Weave Guardian. Any malice directed against them is malice directed against the guild. All guildsmen are to consider them as Weave sister and Weave brother respectively regardless of race and all rights and courtesies are to be given as virtue to the rank given them. May the Weave protect you, Exarch Nahum [/i] ~~~~~~~~~ooo~~~~~~~~~
(( To plane-touched (even Aasimars if you announce yourself or are found out) in guild: Please don't forget to factor in your -250 rep points for being "curiosities". It simulates natural exotic-ness of your race. To all other guild-members: feel free to role-play any natural prejudices or fascination you may have. As a player, I won't look down on you but Nahum will most likely counsel you. Drama makes roleplaying fun! *smiles* ))

A beaten and battered gold elf carries himself through the city to the tower. Clutching in his hand a folded parchment....Upon arrival he unsheathes his dagger and stabs the note inside the front door. Dried blood is readily apparent on the outside...
Exarch Nahum....
I recently awoke high in the mountains. The last thing I remember is attacking those two snow haired giant wolves, and a burst of cold like none I had ever felt. I hope you all arrived safely in Beregost. Please give Exarch Erukus my apologies for not fulfilling my duties as Guardian. I do not lay blame on anyone for leaving me up there, as I'm sure It looked as if I had died. No doubt the blast of bone chilling cold left my skin blue and my breathing very slow.
I cursed my god Corellon for letting this happen to a devoted follower such as myself, and pulled my way down the mountain as I was to weak to walk. I found a safe spot where I camped for the night steadily cursing Corellon for making me endure such pain and agony. Upon daybreak I awoke to see an elf sitting by the fire making sure it didn't go out. He then said to me.."I have been watching over you my son...The very breath you breathe is given to you by me...Yet you still curse me..." I felt something coursing through my body, a strange tingling that started at my chest and radiated to my arms and legs. "Keagan Brightwood!" he said to me, " What you are feeling is a disconnection from the Weave...You cursed me and your punishment is to be separated from the magic you hold dear..." A smile then came over his face. "Fear not my son...I have not forsaken you, I know you are one of my faithful..and perhaps in time I will reconnect you to the Weave." With that he drew his longsword Sahandrian and touched the blade to my head. I could feel the tingling exiting my body and entering his sword. And then in a flash he was gone.
Keagan Brightwood died in those mountains that morning. I have decided to take my half brothers Name. I will here by be known as Keagan Wyndsoul, as he is the only family I have left. I will be putting forth all my effort in refining my mastery of my sword. I hope my disconnection from the Weave does not exclude me from my duties.
I have decided to take Elias Goodmane as my Primary. We have shared the road many times and I feel comfortable knowing that we would be looking out for each other. We have talked for only a moment on this matter but soon we will have a long discussion I'm sure.
Sentry Keagan Wyndsoul

A messenger is sent hurriedly to Keagan. ~~~~~ooo~~~~~ Keagan, I cannot tell you of the relief and joy I feel at the reading of your letter. After the snow wolves breathed their wintery breath upon you, you were cast aside by their huge maws. The flurry of battle and the fury of the winter storm hid you from us after we defeated those that froze you. We searched for hours but could not find you. We feared you lost to our family and we mourned you. The tale of your disconnection with the Weave is quite troubling however. We will try to find a solution to this tragedy although I fear that my mastery of the Weave will not be able to overturn it if what I suspect of your encounter is true. Do no be dismayed, Guardian. You will not be cast away so easily. I spoke to Elias and he is very honored to be chosen by you. You will retain your position and rank. More so, you will keep my respect. All that is important is your safe return. I am eager to see you soon and I will visit your quarters in due haste.

To Weave Master Exarch Nahum, As you're probably aware, the Weave has much of dark energy taint in itself nowadays. People have spoken of a powerful necromancer among the magician community to arrive to Baldur's Gate coming to bring chaos and havoc. The name of the individual is unknown but many point at Eurukus. As I put as much concern to peasant gossip as I do to last years snow, sights of horse skeletons and pale peasants bring some sense into it. I found the local hamlet wells poisoned and, with a help of a local druid, managed to discover the hay given to horses as totally without any nutritions like they've been eating paper. As much as I'd love to drill deeper into this case, our opposite brethren of High Forest have sent a help request in dealing with local drow attacks. Since my spells breach most drows natural spell resistance and I am on good terms with my kin I have agreed to aid them in the task and have teleported out to High Forest in hope of clinching a mutual advantage deal between our communities. I wish you all the best in your searches for the weave defiler and hope that it won't damage our reputation in the eyes of the community. Send my best wishes to Eurukus in this hard time. I shall return as soon as the rogue elves will be pacified. Best wishes, Jadeite Feyern ///

Nahum reads Jadeite's missive and seems quite disturbed. He looks towards the almost-complete Istari tower from his window and is deep in thought.
"Erukus? No, It cannot be. I have known him a long time and he has been a good friend. In addition, he has been busy with the construction of the tower so he would have little time to terrorize anyone. It concerns me that the rumors are there nonetheless. We must make it a point to mingle amongst the townsfolk so as to dispel any rumors. The truth is just as disturbing to me however. A powerful necromancer in our midst will be a bane to this land. If he... or she so willingly opens the portals to the other Planes, it will open the land to many more dark intruders. A recent encounter with a Pit Fiend and undead attacks in Beregrost seem to point to a central source close to there. I must keep an eye out... we must keep an eye out.
With Jadeite's departure, our power will wane but I am confident in our ability to overcome these times. I pray to Ilmater that she is successful in her journey and returns to us soon..."

A scroll hangs from the inside wall of the under construction Istari Tower.
Fellow Weave Masters and Guardians,
It is with great honor that I have accepted the guardianship of Weave Sentry Keagan Wyndsoul. Many times have I pondered the fate that would have befallen me my first few days on The Sword Coast. Had it not been for Sentry Keagan, and his brother Kahlen Wyndsoul I would have surely perished. Since those days we have braved many dangers together, and have emerged victorious. I could think of none better to share the dangers of the road with. I assure you all that this bond will do much to strengthen our order in these troubling times.
Sincerely, Weave Adept Elias Goodmane

A messenger delivers a folded piece of parchment personally to Exarch Nahum....
Exarch Nahum,
I have come to the understanding that you are looking for a Captain of the Weave Guardians. I wish to inquire what you are looking for in that position and if I might be considered.
Our guild grows strong with your wise decision to expand. I am deeply honored that you have accepted my brother Kahlen into the fold. The Weave Scouts will be a blessing when it comes to gathering information.
And Jhaelen, It is an honor to have him within the guild. I have shared the road with him on several occasions, I can think of none other that deserve the title of Lore Master.
Please relay back to me the requirements for Guardian Captain. It is a position that I feel I could fill. The Weave Guardians feel like my new Family. I would gladly lay down my life in the protection of its Members.
-Weave Sentry Keagan Wyndsoul

A letter arrives at the tower of the Weave Masters.
Noble members of the Arcane sect of Weave Masters.
I wish to commend one of your adepts, Lady Lana. Recently a large army of heavily armored and well armed goblins and giants laid seige to the village of Beregost, the force of which the defenders were hard pressed to defeat. Lady Lana stood at the forfront of the defenders efforts with her mighty knowledge of all that is arcane and aided the defenders with every ability she has learned through her training in the arcane arts. She was of great importance as a long ranged defender and felled many of the advancing soldiers before they could harm the frontline defenders, an act that the people of Beregost shall not soon forget.
She has earned the right to be recognized as a hero of Beregost, and as a sign of her appreciation, a letter has been sent to the temple of Mystra praiseing her efforts and that she be recognized by the local clergy of the faith.
Also, on behalf of Beregost and the city of Baldurs Gate I am personally donating two thousand five hundred gold peices worth of magic scrolls to your towers resources, and I sincerely hope that the donation will be cataloged as part of her achievements in your orders name. I will be the first to say that the city of Baldurs Gate is glad to have the honor of houseing your tower and I eagerly await its completion so I can tour the facility myself. Glory to your order, your knowledge and the goddess of magic Duke Eltan Commander of the Flaming Fists
