Well, first off i want to say thank you for accepting my into your fold, I hope i do not dissapoint anyone, either staff or player.
Secondly, the client has lots of spiffy things that the client shipped with the box doesnt have, so it will take some time getting used to.
Thirdly, I spent the day client side, getting to know the lay out, and did several small things with a few people. One was executed flawlessly, as it didnt involve anything fancy...the other one had...some issues in tis execution. The third-sub involvment i had was in a PC run event between two pcs.
All around good fun, and the two EVENTS, have open endings, so I plan on contineing them in the near future.
Event-Grunk The Wonder Troll. Grunk is not an ordinary troll, not by along shot. As Galad, Sylvania, and Anden fetton of the flameing fist found out.
For one, he is at least three times the size of normal trolls, and Grunk attributes his unnatural growth to a vegitarian diet, yes thats right he doesnt eat meat. The problem is, Grunk is, for all purposes a good guy...troll, but he often gets into trouble, and is misunder stood because of his race.
He has landed himself a soft spot in the hearts of Syl, Anden and Galad, who have decided to help him find a bigger cave to live in, for you see the seaside troll cave in the lions way is a -bit- too small for him, and they have even gone so far as to help him make contact with a local farmer he recently liberated of a large patch of corn.
The farmer was alittle skepticle at first, but when they told the farmer of Grunks giant stash of shiny gold coins, the farmer was more agreeable if hesitant. The group plans on going back to tell Grunk of the good news.
Rewards Given:50XP each. To be continued.
Side event-It aint easy being Drow. Sir Juston crownsilver and Anden Fetton apprehended a drow in the wilderness, who they brought in for questioning. The drow was determined to pose little threat to the city, and was put under magical questioning. She has been released on good behavior, with some stipulations.
-While in the city she must ALWAYS have a flameing fist escort. She must always remove her helm to anyone in flameing fist uniforms, and she must report into every road side fist patrol she sees so that they know of her presnece. -These orders are signed by Kuluaruk.
XP given-30.
Event-Forign love& anchient evils. (If this house already has a history, please let me know, I could not find any such house in any source books so I came up with one) The haunted house hidden in the Cloak Woods, has a much deeper and darker history then most thought, as Caston, Alin, and phaedra found out the hard way.
After being drawn to the ocean cliffs near the house by supernatural forces, they watched in silent horror as the appration of a beautiful woman pointed to a sinking ship far in the distance, then threw herself from the cliff into the waters below. The trio stood dumb founded, and as they tried to make sense of what that had just seen, a massive treant, bigger then they had ever seen approached the cliff.
The treant, the oldest by far, remember the day fifty years ago, when the house was inhabited by a crew of Kara-turian sailors and their wives and servants, he recounted the events with uneasy clarity, from the shipwreck, to a betrayal most foul by one of the women in the house, even the ritual sacrifice one of the survivors from the ship-wreck completed upon becomeing overcome with despair at what happened while he was gone.
The party, acting as porters for the ship' masters belongings, stumbled upon the sorrow filled survivor, his soul manifesting as a giant skeleton.
The master recounted the tale of what happened, he spoke of how each of the women in the house was in love with him, and they had been killed by one woman, out of jealosy, a woman who also had loved him. The story took an unexpected twist when the party asked what was in the masters belongings that it had to have such complicated lock. The master however, could not remember, and figured it wasnt as bad as he used to think,
The truth, however is much more dire, for what came out of box when they opened it, is certainly anchient, dangerous, and certainly evil.
Rewards-XP 250. I also owe caston extra XP because that house did not want to cooperate with my orders, and he had two deaths and XP loss's that were the fault of a rusty DM.
I have screen shots proveing he lost the XP, will post them for approval.
Event too be continued.

"We're not in Baldurs Gate any more".
Magic is a wonderful thing, but it can be very scary to those who dont know anything about it.
The past few days have been really odd for travelers on the road from Baldurs Gate to Beregost, as every once in awhile a magical door would materialise in the middle of no where, and a well dressed, excited wizard steps forth. The man introduces himself as The Great Movinius, and him and his associates seem to be experts in planar travel and magical portal creation.
As several people found out the portals, which seem to be very safe and stable creations, have the ability to whisk one away from one portal to another, the first few portals have taken curious travelers from the farmlands of Baldurs gate, across the two day trip to Beregost in just a few heartbeats!.
The leader of the wizardly groups claims this could cut down on the number of monster caused fatalities on the road, and make life easier for those who have to protect it. The wizard seems to be gathering alot of support from those who test the portals, and he is very quick to point out that this could revolutionize trade in the region.
People are beginning to talk about this mysterious group of wizards, especially the magical community, who reguard the portals and their creators with some amount of admiraton, and others a great deal of sceptisism.
Rewards Give-First Tester 300gold, other 3 testers (100xp each).

"Were not in Baldurs Gate any more" Pt 2.
The mysterious group of portal creating wizards, now as a name!.
The group of wizards running the portals are now know to be representitves from a group called the Wayfarer Union. (See me in game if you wish to make any lore checks).
The group, for at least a few hours a day maintain a set of magical portals in the ruins upon the hill if your heading south from Baldurs gate, and in an abandoned mineing camp atop the water falls of Beregosts Trade Way.
The Duke Eltan became irrate when he found out that the first portals near Baldur Gate were created on the city farm lands with out any sort of approval. The portals however have been moved to more remote, yet close by locations to appease the local cities, but still be accessable for those who wish to use the portals.
The Duke has ordered a constant around the clock detachment of Flaming Fist members to stand guard near the portals to make sure they dont presnet any threat to road way travelers. The Wayfarer Union seems to be more then happy with this, and they continue to run their portals with observant flaming fists watching from nearby.
So far there has been no incidents with these portals, and mix opinions of these portals continue to whisper around both Baldurs Gate and Beregost.
(This is IC information, and I am certainly ok if anyone's characters know this, as it is not kept under wraps and many people are talking about it, and the Wayfarer Union has been most forth coming with information).
Event-"Aint nothing but...hell hounds?".
Ne'leena, a drow exile was encounterd by a misplaced imp in the abandoned mines, who spun a tale of a recent mistake while he was walking his masters "Dogs" which turned out to be fairly large hell hounds. The imp offered her one of three things for her help in slaying the hounds and sending them back to their home plane.
-A small secret about the nine hells (XP reward). -Gold peices -A one time teleportation spell to anywhere in the region
She proceeded to hunt down and slay the hounds, meeting up with a Red Wizard who assisted with one of the hellish groups of hounds.
Upon completion of the task, the Imp appeared and made good on his promise, and when the Drow wished to know a secret about the hells, he whispered something very interesting to her.
The wizard, though not part of the contract was offered one of the two remaining rewards by the grateful imp, and she chose gold peices.
The Red Wizard's name is ommited for privacy and anti-metagameing reasons.
Rewards Ne'leena +90xp -50Gp. Rewards Wizard +50gp (Hehe, figure that one out).

"Were not In Baldurs Gate anymore" Pt 3.
There has not been alot of new developments with the Wayfarers Union, except that the Great Movinus was seen walking into town with two flaming fist escorts, Sir Lucian Huss, and Sir Juston Crownsilver. The three seemed to be talking casually, so the escort appears to have been just a formality.
When the trio approached the town fountain, just a block away from Maltz's smithy, the group was approached by a Wizard in strange Blue/Grey robes, who shouted "The portals must not be completed!" and launched into a dizzying array of spells.
The clearing with the fountain quickly turned into a titanic spell duel between the two wizards. Juston Crownsilver was blasted into unconciousness, but was other wise unharmed, a woman who was an admiror of Movinus's portals took part in the battle, but escaped with very few injuries. Lucian Huss was severly burned by fire and lightning spells, but a few healing potions absolved his wounds.
The Great Movinus was not so lucky, as the spell-fighting peaked, the assulting wizard conjured a green noxious gas which clouded the view of those in the area, and when it cleared the wizard and Movinus were gone. The nearby citizens who saw the battle claim they saw the assulting wizard throw an arm around Movinu's neck, thus suggesting an act of kidnapping.
Duke Eltan, after hearing about the situation was furious that such reckless violence happened in the city, and initially wanted to blame the Wayfarers Union, but thanks to the flaming fist members, he realised that Movinus was fighting in self-defence, and in defense of the flaming fist soldiers.
Worried, and also filled with a small amount of guilt that a foreign wizard who was trying to do something at least partially benefical to the city had been harmed within the wall he was responsable for, ordered Lucian and Juston to keep an ear out for any rumors pertaining to the Warfarer Union wizards dissapearance.
He also made it VERY clear that should any flaming fist discover information about the wizard(S) they are to report it immediatly, but other wise do nothing unless the situation presents imminent danger.
Rewards-100xp.
"Dig it up, come on dig it".
The Cloakwood mines have been the subject of many peoples conversations in the recent months, sure the Umberhulk and bugbear population were old news, but there had been some rumors that a Demon was slain within the mines as well.
These tales didnt stop the proud clan of Digdeeper dwarves from scouting out and planning a mining expedition into the mines depths. The initial scouts reported the discovery of a massive vein of Adamantine ore buried within the walls of the mines third level.
Velnek Sunborn and Amanda Lynn were happily thining the bugbear population when a tremor shook the mine, which in itself was nothing new, until they tried to leave and found the path caved in by debris bigger then a hill giant!. They were approached by a rather fluid (If rocky sounding) speaking earth elemental who ordered them to tell the dwarves on the surface to "Stop the digging or the great earth prince Ogremach will be angry!", they quickly agreed and the path was unblocked by the elemental.
The group encounterd the members of Clan Digdeeper in Beregost who were packing up to move in and set up a mining operaton in the Cloakwood mines. The chief miner, Torgeir Digdeeper was very hesitant to turn down such a valuable fine that could provide enough material to last his clan a life time, let alone give it up at the request of two people he didnt even know.
The flaming fist known as Lucian Huss, who had stopped in town for a quick visit, vouched for Velnaks order and assured the dwarf that Velnak was prohibited from lieing. The dwarven chief bregrudgingly agreed to send two scouts with Amanda and Velnak to the mine, and if the two of them couldnt prove to the scout that there was a danger, the mining expedition would continue.
Amanda and Velnak, now accompanied by Lucian, met with the dwarven scouts Wendrill and Kelgdor outside the mine, but quickly learned that of the two dwarves Wendrill was the smarter one, and the four of them (Wendril,.Amanda,Velnak and Lucian) descended into the mine, leaveing Kelgdor to hold the "powerful lizards" at bay.
The four descended to the third level and found the now fully uncovered vein of Adamantine, of which several large chunks had already fallen off due to earth quakes. The dwarven scout, haveing seen no danger other then the Bugbears and Umberhulks, scooped up the loose Adamantine and was ready to head back to tell the chief to proceed with the expedition.
The party, knowing full well the danger realised they had to show the dwarf the consequences of digging any deeper, and suggested that the dwarf take a pick-axe and try to dig, oh which he was happy to oblige.
The dwarf swung, chipped off some Adamantine nuggest from the vein and waited....nothing.
So he swung again, and was returned the favor by a tremor which knocked him off his feet. When he stood up, he noticed his companions engaged in combat with a host of angry earth elementals. The elementals were quickly defeated, but the party realised if they continued to attack the elementals would get even angier and their chances of survival would decrease severly.
The elemental who had spoken before formed out of a nearby wall and informed the dwarf of the Adamantine veins proximity to a private vault of the great prince Ogremach. The dwarf, respecting the elementals and earth princes request, begrudingly returned with the party to Beregost where he told Torgeir that indeed the mines were unsafe for digging.
The chief, heart broken at missing the dig of a life time still thanked the party for saving the lives of him and his clan members. The dwarven scouts reminded the chief that they had seen some sort of a mine when they had passed through the hill giant held areas of Nashkel. The chief thanked the party again and offered them gold to reward them for their efforts that saved his clan, and then Torgeir and his workers packed up and headed south for the giant held lands of Nashkel.
Rewards- Amanda 90xp, 500 gold (had to leave before conclusion). Lucian-Offered 500 gold, told the dwarves to keep it to make up for the money they would have made in the mines. +100xp and +1 Lawful +1 good alignment shift (He is already LG but he really did an awsome jome RPing a LG char so the reward was well earned) Velken-Offered 500 gold, told the dwarves to donate it to the church of Tyr instead. +100XP, +1 Lawful, +1 Good Alignment shift (All of our players do a fantastic job roleplaying their alignments, at least the ones I have Rped with, but dureing this event Amanda did very well but Lucian and Velnak really knocked my socks of)

"Me Myself and I".
Valek Suborn, and several other bold adventuerors had witnessed an unusual twist in their lives yesterday.....they killed themselves, or at least they killed strange creatures that looked like them. The rumors of duplicating creatures become more and more real each passing day as more and more people are encountering and slaying their twins, or even triplets!.
Valek Sunborn, was thining the gnoll population when he was approached by a group, containing Amber Rose and two men he had never met before, and himself!. The group became worried and confused, for both Valeks demonstrate the same mannerism's, and the same divine abilities. The group debated for sometime on how to decide which one was the real Valek, but in the end a truth by combat challenge was issued from one Valek to the other, figureing the only way to prove one of them was real was to hopefully demonstrate the strength and skill of the real Valek.
The real Valek, was beaten into submission, and the false Valek would have gotten away with his mission, but he slipped up.
One of the onlookers stepped forward and commanded the false Valek to stay his hand so the "false Valek" could be healed.
"Do not touch the imposter, do not heal him, he deserves to die" the false Valek screamed!.
Amber frowned, "The real Valek wouldnt deny anyone healing, even a defeated foe who was impersonating him", she said quietly.
The clones slip up, and his wounded state from the battle with the real Valek quickly led to the clones defeat. The group tended the real Valeks wounds, and soon after the group had set up camp to discuss what to do next. The group had grown quite large now, as many onlookers had passed by to see the two Valeks fighting.
As the day wore on, and the group discussed what had happened, and those who had seen the dopplegangers a few times before shared their information, the camp was ambushed by a large detatchment of armored warriors in pure silver fullplate, and armed to the teeth. Amber was quick to point out that these men had shown up almost every time after the dopplegangers failed to kill their double, and she pointed to the Palm tree tattoo on their necks. All of the assailants linked to the dopplegangers have born the same exact tattoo.
The group packed up camp and headed into the woods of sharp teeth, suspecting thats where the ambushing soliders came from, but instead they found a cave of orcs who were not to happy about having their home invaded and washed over the group in wave after wave of green blood thirsty warriors.
The sun was high in the sky when the group came out of the orc cave. They had been victorious over a massive battle with the orcs, but had used up alot of resources and were very very tired, and that is when the hunters pounced. The forest it turned out had become home to a legion of soldiers who had followed, and set up an ambush while the party was in the cave. The soldiers bore silver fullplate, palm tree tattoos and longbows. The fighting continued for almost three hours, and just when the group thought there was no end to the hunters reserves, the forest fell quite.
The group, tired and weary parted ways, figureing that was the best solution despite some peoples objections. The for the rest of the day, the Palm tree hunters were not heard from.
***This is one of the more action packed events I have run so far so the rewards reflect the considerable risk to the parties. Rewards-100xp for RP, 250xp for combat.
"The thousand Gnolls".
Anyone traveling the lions way over the past two days would notice over seven hundred slain gnoll bodies strewn around the area, and that the land is littered with still smoldering craters from flaming boulders that were launched into the region from some unknown origin.
The group, which included Amber Rose, Dant,Samin, and Norik Kaine had discovered this sudden influx of the gnoll population while they were traveling north. The group had a battle filled night, as they found themselves wadeing through what seemed to be near endless formations of gnolls, includeing large, full plated gnolls wielding twelve foot great axes and obviously well trained.
To compound matters, the party was astounded when the gnolls wheeled catapults into the lions way, and began launching flaming projectiles into the fray with little reguard for their own numbers, and causeing chaos among the adventuerors.
The fighting died down as the gnolls retreated from the region, but the battle weary adventuerors had no time to rest, as rain of flaming boulders, easily ten times the size of the ones fired from the catapault pelted the lions way from somewhere to the north.
In the after math of the fiery rain, another legion swarmed the group before they eventually managed to fight their way to the gnoll fortress. The fortress itself was, for the most part a sea of well armed, and armored gnolls, as well as a battalion of the larger, twelve foot axe wielding gnolls. The group fought their way into the fortress where they discovered the source of the massive increase of gnolls.
A portal, a portal with about a twelve foot radius was spilling near endless amounts of gnolls into the fortress. The fortress itself now had extremely well made seige towers, catapaults and trebuchets resting in its court yard, which made it clear these gnolls were not fooling around and had been planning a full scale invasion.
The gnolls streaming from the portal finally ended and a tall, beautiful if pale skinned winged being stepped forth. The being turned out to be a merchant from the dragon peak mountains in the East, and apparently had been contracted to supply the gnolls in this region with quality equipment.
The group had accused him of trying to kill them, but he quickly pointed out that the gnolls had attempted to kill them, and not him. The being, who turned out to be an arms and armor merchant of some skill was forth comeing with answers to most of the parties questions, but never revealed the name of the person who contracted him, or where his supplies came from.
The group eventually asked him if he had any thing for sale, which he had plenty but it was way out of the price range of the party. They talked at length for sometime, one of the groups members ignored the merchants request to not touch the portal,l and paid for his actions by a near fatal zap of electricity.
In the end, the merchant went back to the dragon peak mountains, and the portal closed but not before he sold several Illmaterian healing satchels to some of the adventerors.
This event was easily 95% acton packed, and alot of the gnolls were well trained and well armed and could have very well caused considerable harm to the group, not to mention the hail of death from seige weapons posed a threat to everyone.
Rewards- a total of 8 +3 healing kits costing 400gp total. 1200xp. Dant if your on the forums, see me in game as you left before you got your XP.

"A Spell Binding Show".
People flocked from all over the region to attend the magical show just north of the bridge exiting the Baldurs Gate farmlands. The show, which contained a managerie of docile elementals, and a skilled gnome Illusionist, also held the magical lights, sounds, and images of a planar wizard know as Marquis Mavor, the Magnificent Magical Manipulator of Magic.
The very impressive show, dazzles and spellbound all of the children in attentence, and most of the adults as well, even those who were sceptacle about magic.
The show took on a dire turn, as Marquis Mavor, for his final act surrounded himself in a protectice barrier, and cast a spell which turned the childrens laughter into pain and screams. The childrens skin was split apart, and strange shadow figures emereged, which caused confusion in nearly everyone that looked upon them, how could such an innocent show go so wrong.
The children were slain, and so were the shadows and with a large amountof anger on his face, Marquis,s skin began to crack and split, a pillar of light arching into the sky that carried a dubious disguise with it. When the light cleared a being that had a head with tentacles, a squid like face, and webbed fingers stood before the crowd, a mindflayer!.
The mind flayer launched into massive assaults of psycic energies on the crowed, but as the local adventuerors bore down on it, it vanished from their eyes.
The group of survivors, convinced the illithid had been destroyed let their guard down, and were caught off guard when twelve mindflayers looking exactly like Marquis Mavor, surrounded the clearing and decimated civilians with their psionic might. The adventuerors went quickly to slaying the mindflayers ,each one struck would fade into obscurity, as if they werent even real.
The combat was loud, and hectic but when the Adventuerors had time to close their eyes, and open them they found they were stareing at a child with a fishing pole. The area had no fair equipment, no dead mindflayers, not tents, no merchants, no dead commoners, no blood...nothing and then even found they still had the five gold they paid for admission to the fair.
The child illuminated the group, that that had come to the river, started clapping and cheering and then started screaming and swinging at empty air.
The child was apparently ignorant, and the adventurors set up camp where the fair ground had been, tired and confused they tried to ponder at the fair, trying to figure out the number one question.
"Was the fair real? or was it all in their heads?"
Perhaps they will find out someday? Perhaps not?

"Dig It Up, Come On Dig It" Pt 2
Beregost recently had some new visitors, big nasty ones with thick scales and wings.
The town was over run by a great host of angry wyverns, which fled north from somewhere to the south. The towns population managed to flee inside before the wyverns could cause too much harm, however a fair share of the village inhabitants were still devoured and the damage to the buildings was still substantial.
When adventuerors arrived, and drove off the great flock, one of the survivors spun a tale of a giant wyvern a hundred feet long, and fourty feet high on all fours, which had been seen to the south. The giant "wyvern", it turned out was actually an adult red dragon named Cinderonathaxalis, who came to the valley south of Beregost to retrive a buried belonging.
The dragon claimed he was looking for a clan of dwarves who owed him a big favor, but the clan who hadnt seen him in over one hundred years, fled at his approach scattering all over the region.
The party offered to find the dwarves and rally them to help the great red wyrm, as long as he agreed to leave the region peacefully. The dragon, only careing about his possession and not really too interested in eating the rather bland prime material dwellers, agreed and flew to the other side of the cloud peaks while he waited for the adventurers to find the dwarves from clan Digdeeper.
To be continued.
Reward-The wyverns were extremely easy, and posed very very little risk to the PC's. 100xp, and good job to those involved for playing smart, being wise when seeing the red dragon. I've seen many parties with online servers who saw a red dragon and didnt even bother talking to it, and just started swinging.

Sub-plot for "Dig It Up Come On Dig It".
In the past few months since the Wyvern attack on Beregost, a well trained, handsome and well armed man is seen traveling far and wide along the sword coast.
The man, who proudly declares his affilation to the order of the most Radient Heart, goes by the name of Darwin Trawl. He claims to be a senior knight of the order and one of the organizations most esteemed and skilled dragonslayers, haveing reportedly killed a dozen or so Wyrms in his service to the order, and the church of Helm.
He came to the region to hunt for the red dragon that initally drove the Wyverns to attack Beregost, but has been unable to locate it yet. Recently, a trio of brave souls listend to sir Trawls concerns that the dragon had taken on the form of a civilized race and was now hideing among one of the two cities, though he leans toward a greater possibility of the dragon hideing in Baldurs Gate.
Galad, Borton and Haydel volunteered to do some sleuthing to try and help the holy knight, and their investigation first led them to the Merchants League in Baldurs Gate. The trio, oddly enough saw an iron throne officer handing a box of coins to the clerk at the desk, while the rest of the officers retinue guarded the door further into the building. The trio inquired for any new merchant seeking help and the clerk sent them to the docks.
-It was high noon when they got to the dock where the Sea Sprite was moored, and they found it swarming with Iron Throne soldiers. The officer, the same one they had seen in the Merchants League, was towering over a scared captain Deuduermont who had apparently lost a very valuable shipment he had been hired by the Iron Throne to deliver.
As the group watched on, a pale skinned, and red winged man came glideing out of a nearby warehouse, obviously irrate at the commotion on the docks, when the odd man came out of the warehouse, the dock workers and commoners passing through fled the dock in fear.
The Iron Throne officer, reported to the winged man about the lost shipment, and was quicky paid for his excellent neglect by a disintigration spell from the winged man.
The winged man walked back into the warehouse, while the trio of adventuerors, approached Captain Deudermont as the swarm of Throne soldiers left the docks. The captain, still shakeing with fear told them what little he knew about the shipment the Iron Throne had paid him to deliver, but made it clear the Throne was still going to hold him responsable and if he didnt pay for the lost cargo they would probably claim his ship.
The trio, after several hours of thought, decided the way to get real answers was to sneak into the warehouse and talk to the winged man. Galad, brave as he was, talked his companions into letting him sneak in first. The ranger made an attempt to sneak into the warehouse, but accidently trigger some sort of noisey alarm in the hallway just inside the door.
The ranger retreated, and the group realised that time was wasteing and the only way to get answers now would be to assult the warehouse. The occupants, which included several ogres who were working diligently to move crates about, were quickly slain. As the trio of heros slew the last ogres a doro farther into the warehouse slammed open and a blue tinted ogre with spell protections whirling around his body, complained about the price of "importing ogres" and launched into a magical and brutish assult.
The group eventually managed to slay the mage, and they discovered a portal inside the small chapel of Helm, hidden in a corner of the warehouse. One of the adventuerors read from the book of Helms dogmas, and with a flash of light a confused, and suddenly a confused Darwin Trawl stood before them.
After some discussing, and ploting the trio finally entered the portal, which closed behind them, depositing them FAR to the south of Beregost!.
Of the man with red wings, there was no sign.
\\Yes I left some things out on purpose.
Rewards-XP 1200.
I have run a few minor events, and a series of events that are fairly large in scale, but I wont post information about them here for anti-meta-gaming purposes.

"Iron Throne Vs Red Wizards, Round One!".
The Iron Throne, made a bold move a few days ago, they organized a band of well trained men, armed them to the teeth and sent them marching to the Trade Way flanked by catapaults.
The Iron Throne detachment quickly surrounded the Gnoll held Friendly Arm Inn and laid seige to it. The initial blockade lasted for the later part of the afternoon, with very little action from either side. As Selune took her place in the sky, the Irone Throne after several hours of failed intimidations, begun their assult.
The sky above the trade way became filled with a rain of great flaming boulders that quickly brought down the forts western walls. The battle, at that point had attracted a great number of battle-eager adventuerors, who stood in with the front lines of the Iron Throne detatchment, and they were the first to enter the fray when a sea of gnolls came pouring over the ruins of the wall.
The battle dragged on for almost two hours, when a large band of gnolls suddenly appeared on the hills south, and west of the Iron Thrones position. The battle grew in intensity and more then one adventueror began to have thoughts of retreat, as the Iron Throne slowly fell under sheer number of gnolls, especially when another bad of gnolls came running out of the Cloak Woods.
The Iron Throne, did win the battle but only thanks to the help of the adventurors, the heros quickly took up a defensive position inside the now empty gnoll fort with the last hundred or so Iron Throne soldiers. The occupants quickly errected a crude wooden wall to replace the one the Throne knocked down and the defenders settled in for sleep and sustinance while they waited for the last group of Gnoll reinforcements.
The attack came at midnight, but it wasnt Gnolls but far from it. A portal manifested on the inital battle field, and three bald headed Red Wizards approached the gate, swirling with magical protections.
The Red Wizards accused the Throne of assulting several of their financial associates and small holdings newly established in the region, and declared that the thayan trade council has considered the Iron Thrones actions against them a declaration of war.
The Iron Throne soldiers who were now furious, stormed out of the fort to try and slay the three Red Wizards. The Red Wizards remained calm and in the course of a few heart beats systamatically obliterated all but ten of the scant hundred Iron Throne soldiers. The local adventuerors who had issues with the Throne as well took the distraction to eliminate some of the Throne soldiers dureing the chaos.
The Red Wizards made it clear they didnt care about the Gnolls fort and calmly went back into the portal which closed soon after, leaveing the smokeing remains of Iron Throne soldiers in their wake.
The Gnoll reinforcements returned to the fort a few days after and after the determined who was in charge, set about repairing their stronghold.

"Iron Throne Vs Red Wizards, Round Two!".
A few days after the Iron Throne seige on the gnoll fort, a twelve foot tall construct of incredibly sturdy iron, stomped up and down the trade way, only stopping to stomp and smash any bands of Iron Throne soldiers that happend to be unfortunate enough to run across the constructs path.
The construct proceeded from the coast line, south of Baldurs Gate, down to the Lions way and into the forest north of Beregost, leaveing mashed Iron Throne patrols in its wake. The construct was eventually ambushed and blasted apart by powerful Iron Throne sorcerors. The golem as several adventuerors found out had the national emblem of Thay under its right arm pit, which made many a mind curious as to why a Thayan war machine was tearing up Iron Throne patrols.
Later that day, the Red Wizards Bazaar, which has been open on a dailey basis just south of the Baldurs Gate bridge, was swarmed with Iron Throne soldiers. The throne soldiers appeared with such speed and magical concealment and slaughtered four Thayan envoys before they had a chance to react. The rest of the Thayans responded appropriately and the area became a maelstrom of violence.
In the end, no one walked away from the camp site, the Red Wizards on duty, and all of the Iron Throne attackers lay dead. The Red Wizards have been quickly makeing a name for themselves, and nearly everyone no matter what their reservations or sterotypical fears of Thay, admits that the Thayans are proveing to be an asset to the region. The merchants who had arrived only a month ago, had become a mainstay for citisens, adventuerors and even flaming fist members to arm and supply themselves with magical supplies.
When the flaming fist arrived on the scene, led by Lieutenant Arnold Margin, they found a scene of chaos and destruction, Red wizards, and Throne soldiers littering the ground with a half a dozen window shoppers mixed in with the dead.
The fist quickly organized a midnight vigil, led by a preist of lathander who cleansed and sanctified the bodies. The remains of the the Iron Throne soldiers have been none to gently deposited on the companies head quarters, the citisens buried in the hilltop ruins, and the remains of the Red Wizards stored in the merchant leages warehouse while they wait for their countrymen to come Identify and claim them.
No one knows what it is, but the throne tossed some sort of chemical on the Thayans stall, and once the ediface had burned to the ground, the fire still rages several days later, a grim display of what happens when you cross the Iron Throne.
Lieutenant Arnold, after the mid-night vigil posted a crudely made sign so all could see it as they enter or exit the town.
"Iron Throne and Red Wizards! Make peace or get lost!", the sign states.
I would love to hear some IC character opinions on the political turmoil caused by the Iron Throne and Red Wizards, feel free to post your chars views in the "A day of red trade" in the tavern section of the forums.
