"Iron Throne Vs Red Wizards, Round Three!".
Hostilities continue to rise between the two powerful merchant guilds, the Iron Throne and Red Wizards. The two organizations have for the most part taken their conflicts away from the city in an effort to reduce casualties, as a result of this the wilderness is quickly becoming a charred and scorched sight as Iron Throne sorcerors and the Red Wizards continue to hurl spells at each other. The ever increaseing numbers of Red Wizards has many people on edge, some people even suspect the Red Wizards are prepairing for a mass invasion, but the Thayans have yet to move in that direction physically or magically.
The wizards seem to be going out of their way to avoid civilian casualties, even going so far as to cast protective spells on travelers to protect them from their titantic spell battles with the Iron Throne.
Despite all of the chaos and destruction being laid between the two factions, the Red Wizards have recently commited a bold move that has laid a few peoples suspicions to rest.
Five days ago the Red Wizards supported by their giant war constructs, led an assult on the Iron Throne garrison that currently occupies the village of Beregost. The fighting was heavy and lasted almost a day and half, but eventually the Red Wizards were pushed back but not before decimateing at least fifty percent of the Iron Thrones garrison.
The Throne still holds Beregost, but not with the confidence they used to and with the decimation of their numbers at the hands of the Red Wizards, the reinforcements they recive are meager at best.
Rumors run rampant as they usually do, while many would love to see the Iron Throne stamped out they also realise that replaceing one power hungry merchant guild with another, especially when the guilds are known to be evil...it changes little.
Some people want to see the Red Wizards take the place of the Throne, haveing been convinced by the Thayans good intentions.
Some people would rather take the Iron Throne over the Red Wizards.
Some people, would rather see them both wiped of the face of Faerun.
Tensions continue to rise.

"Iron Throne Vs Red Wizards, round four!".
Things have quieted down considerably between the two powerful merchant fractions, and the wilderness has resumed some semblence of peace.
The two factons, after both loseing considerable numbers and man power in open skirmishs across the region have both retreated to their respective territories and head quarters.
The Red Wizards have begun to mostly stick to the merchants league headquarters, running their shops and mercantile enterprises from within its halls, and the Iron Throne has shut themselves inside their headquarters in the city of Baldurs Gate. The town of Beregost has become clenched tightly in the Iron Thrones presence, and on a daily and nightly basis the Throne makes less then subtle door to door searchings, looking for any sign of Red Wizard sympathisers.
The Throne, for a few days straight refused any entry to Beregost except for the merchants and people who are known to live there, they are so intent on keeping outsiders from one of their territories that they turned away, very violently at that...a group of adventuerors who tried to physically punch through their blockade. The stalwart heros were turned away with little effort, and they were allowed to limp back to baldurs gate to lick their wounds.
Since then things have become alittle more lax, although the Trade way north of Beregost is now home to a well entrenched and well garrisoned outpost of Iron Throne soldiers.
Things remain peaceful for the most part, but occasionaly small to large skirmishs break out between the two factions, the most recent one being a fight over the sharptooth caves as a potential supply storage. The sorté in the woods of sharp teeth left twenty five Iron Throne, and six red wizards dead, but most of the forest has been left in tact.
Peace...if it can be called that is a nice thing, but its obvious that the fighting is not over as it seems both merchant factions have begun to turn to methods of violence that are far less physical and magical and more political.

"Iron Throne VS Red Wizards round five!".
After a long period of calm between the two warring merchant factions, the tensions ignite again with two bold moves, one by the Red Wizard of Thay and the other by the Iron Throne.
It's been known for sometime that the Iron Throne has had some sort of involvment with the Cloud Peak mountains, and two days ago a small group of Red Wizards opened fire on the Iron Throne troops who were in charge of guarding the path way up to the mountains propor. The Throne was entrenched heavily, and their defenses hindered more then helped them during the Thayan onslought.
The Iron Throne had set up seige weapons and road blocks every twenty feet or so up the long winding path and movement was so narrow the soldiers found it near impossible to flee as the Red Wizards called down small flaming meteors, lightning bolts and clouds of searing acid upon the garrison, the commotion shook the ruins of Nashkel with such intensity that some of the already ruined buildings shook off their foundations, turning onto chaotic piles of wood, stone and dust, several hill giant raiders were buried beneth rockslides caused by the fighting.
Two days later, the Iron Throne suffering great financial loss's due to the fortifications being built around Beregost and the damages done by the Red Wizards, set up a well armed and defensable tolling station on the bridge north of Beregost. The road way quickly became choked with merchants, commoners traveling to and from Baldurs Gate, and many adventuerors. The Iron Throne began to charge a hundred gold coins per person, wagon, and anything else they felt like, and this quickly set many of the road-blocked travelers on edge.
Several people protested and were ruthlessly cut down in front of the angry mobs, and any who even mentioned the words Red and Wizard in the same sentence were shot through with arrows and or spells from Iron Throne sorcerors.
The days dragged on, more and more people being caught up in the great caravan traffic jam, and anger continued to build in people who refused to pay the tolls. The Red Wizards, true to their nature made an apperance and used the thrones actions to spur the angry mobs against the Iron toll-keepers. The Iron Throne, senseing that things were about to become violent, began to launch their arrows, and magics against the Thayans who responded in kind. The bridge, somehow miraculously survived the fighting, as did three very lucky on-looking adventuerors.
The road was sterilised from the Iron Thrones presence, and the Red Wizards were gone before the smoke cleared, but every good deed comes with a price, most of the merchants, commoners and adventuerors who failed to flee before the fighting broke out, now lay smoldering, melted and frozen to death next to the bodies of the Iron Throne.
The three surviving witness's gathered up the bodies and sent them down river after an impromteu burial ceremony. The three adventuerors are seen walking away, shakeing their heads repeatadly.
"Gold, all this over gold" one of them remarks.

"Red Wizards VS Iron Throne"
The conflict between the Red Wizards and Iron Throne brigands came to a surpriseing end two days ago, as meeting on the docks between both factions took a surpriseing and destructive turn.
The Red wizards had barracaded off a section of the docks while they began to unload a shipment of goods arriveing by ship, but it didnt take long for a group of on-lookers mostly compriseing of local adventuerors to gather at the thayan blockade.
The Red Wizards, politely and calmly explained their actions for sealing off the dock, and the two gatherings talked peacably, the Red Wizards trying to help the on-lookers understandable hatreds towards their country men. The Iron throne was soon to arrive and try to drive the wizards off the dock but intervention by a local Tyrian knight kept things somewhat peaceful.
Both factions stated their cases to the Tyrian, each of them presenting evidence proveing that the other had thrown the first punch or spell. The evidence came from word of mouth about two letters, one sent to the Red Wizards from the Iron Throne and a similar letter sent ot the Iron Throne from the Red Wizards, both factions denied they had sent the letter.
It was at that moment, that the mysterious little boy who had been seen giving cryptic warnings to travelers about some omenous portent of doom chose to appear. The child admitted it was he who had sent the letters to each faction, as much as admiting he was the cause of the war between the merchant guilds, the child also admited he used the destruction the conflict had caused to excavate the land from his previously hidden belongings, which had broken up and buried among ruins and the wilderness.
It all made sense how both factions knew of each others moves, the child had been playing them against each other, leading them to destinations of his chooseing where they would fight, and shake ruins loose and allow him to uncover his hidden possesions.
The child, after explaining his deeds let out a roar and began to expand, his skin shifting to dark red scales, a tail and wings sprouting from his body as he shed his childish form to show people his true visage, the great red dragon Cinderanithaxlis.
The dragon proceeded to lay waste to the Iron Throne and Red Wizards, claiming the lives of more then a few commoners and some nearby adventuerors as well, the fighting left most of the warehouses in ruin, either trampled or incinerated.
At the end of the conflict which was rather one sided, the dragon lifted himself aloft, hurdled another handful of flaming projectiles towards the gathering on the docks and finally sped south towards beregost, where it dug through the cliffs and grounds surrounding the ulcaster ruins where it apparently didnt find what it was looking for.
The dragon then soard up and over the cloud peak mountains.
A feeling of sadness and despair settles over the land, many fear they havent seen the last of the dragon, and many many people are keeping watchful eyes on the sky.

"Broken Peace"
The past few weeks have been one of peace at least as far as the Iron Throne and Red Wizard presence go, but today all that was brought to a smasing halt.
The Red Wizards, backed by a large band of Baatezu devils, descended upon Beregost in an attempt to drive the Iron Throne from the city and free it from their grasp. The fight was long, chaotic and certainly bloody, and the Red Wizards were defeated initially. The fighting had died down, when the four leaders of the Thayan Trade Envoy, appeared above the town and called to light some traitorous acts the Iron Throne had commited, they brought to light a deal the throne had made with the regions resident red dragon Cinderanithalxis, and also spoke of the Iron Thrones ignoreing the Red Wizards attempts at a peaceful resolution to their conflict.
The Red Wizard leaders, now fed up with the Thrones antics, enacted a ritual in the skies above the city, as the ritual proceeded the Iron Throne soldiers began to double over in pain, and die one by one, nearly all of the brigandshad been slain. A few soldiers did escape to run back to Baldurs Gate, carrying word that the temporary cease fire...was over.
The council of Dukes, hearing about the happenings down south, dispatched a band of Flaming Fist mercenary's whos arrival in Beregost was met with cheer, applause and no small amount of jubilation.
The leaders of the thayan trade emmisarys are neither seen nor heard from for two whole tendays, gone off on some unknown trip, though their office in the Merchants League remains with their belongings, and carefully wared against intrusion.
The Iron Throne recalls their troops in the region, back to their headquarters and likewise are not seen or heard from in some time, occasionally bands of soldires, as small as one man or as big as three are seen leaveing the city, heading in nearly every direction, to return a few days later.
The city of Beregost holds a funeral for the late propriator of the Jovial Juggler, who had been serveing drinks to off duty Throne soldiers, and was killed with the inital devils appeared within the establishment. The city begins a search for another suitable bartender.
The region holds its breath, looking towards the Iron Throne and the Red Wizards, waiting to see who does what next.
