"And Injustice for all".
Arkainu Grimuth, popular priest of Tyr paid a visit to the city of Baldures Gate today, along with his two escorts, both skilled knights of hte grimjaw. They took up shelter at the Blades and Stars tavern, where adventuros and other professions flocked from all over the region.
The day was busy for the priest, offering blessings and guideand and accepting words of honor from a staggering amount of people.
When all was said and done, the night time yielded an empty tavern, the bartender, a few patrons and the trio of Tyrian men heading up stairs. The night sky of Baldurs Gate was light with an orange glow, as flames and smoke began snake from the windows and doors of the establishment, and before long the Blades and Stars in its entirety was up in flames.
Thanks to the quick actions of local adventuerors and the flaming fist the blaze was put out, but the damage was irreperable, and came with a devastating fatality, one of the Grimjaw knights, and Arkainu Grimuth. The third knight escort had survived the blaze, and told the onlookers that the high priest was murdered and did not die in the fire. The knight spoke clearly and with confidence that a halfling had done the murders to both the priest and the other knight guardian before setting the tavern on fire, but alas a description of the halfling was no provided as the knight didnt get a good look.
The Duke, realiseing the Blades and Stars is one of the most important facilities in the city has contracted a guild of artisents and arcitects to rebuild the tavern, a move he has paid for with a very generous donation from a currently unnamed organization.

"Mercantile Juggernauts".
Despite all of the fighting, the conflicts, the death, the intrique and the constant maneuverings of the Red Wizard and Iron Throne Merchant faction, nothing seems to have stopped the skilled red wizards from their bussiness.
They resumed their mercantile operations south of Baldurs Gate two days ago, just south of the farmlands bridge. The stall, heavily upgraded for stability and a bigger space for goods, also came with an impressive army of security, two gargantuan Thayan War Golems, at least a dozen wizards and half a dozen of their skilled knights.
The new comers to the region were out-raged, even more when the flaming fist could do nothing to remove the Thayans, thanks to being endorsed by the Dukes council and the Merchant League. The leader of the Red Wizards, Arnoth Detrian willingly states that they have been given alittle more authority to handle hostile situations in however they see fit due to the lingering threat of Iron Throne confrontations.
Bussiness is good, very good as many new customers begin to appreciate teh thayans quality and very affordable goods begin to flood the region again. On a negative note, an out raged half-orc, known as Arkaine made an attempt on the Thayan leaders life, launching himself behind the stall and grabbing Arnoth Detrian by the throat.
Thayans are cold blooded, no one refuses this, and both Arnot Detrian and Arkaine were smashed to bits by one of the nearby War Golems, and to everyones amazement the nearby guards didnt even blink at their leaders death........
For he was not dead!. When "Arnoth Detrian" died, the body began to change to the features of another man, and then fade from sight, at which point another identicle "Arnoth Detrian" made his apperance and continued their bussiness after seeing to it Arkaine was taken into custody.
Other then the usual aggrivated crowds and hostilities the day was free from violance, almost anyway. The gathered people, obviously wise enough not to tangle with a group of skilled wizards and their guardians, (not to mention the massive constrcuts), sat by dumbfounded as some of their most trusted friends began to peruse the merchants wares.
Coin flows like water for Thayans, but the day was not complete with out drama, a single iron throne sorceror teleported into the Red Wizards area of operations and began to spout words of hate and death threats, the lone soldier didnt have the chance to form his second sentence before he was promptly smashed into nothingess under the foot of one of the Thayan War Golems, much to the laughter and enterainment of all the thayans, and a few of the local adventuerors.
Coin flows like water....

"Mercantile Juggernauts 2"
Another series of days comes and goes for the Red Wizard merchants, virtually unhindered, save for a few civil unrests that tend to spring up when you have many people crowed into a tiny space.
More and more people, especially the new comers to the region flock to the affordable and quality goods, and even some of the more well known heros are starting to defend the Red Wizards mercantile efforts.
But, alas given the history of Red Wizards, they are still reguarded with great disdain by most of the regions factions, the flaming fist for one, who begrudeingly complies with the Dukes orders to make sure the wizards to their bussiness free of interruption. For those who refuse to deal with the Thayans at least on moral grounds are told clamly and matter of factly "If you want to select your bussiness on moral grounds, theres plenty of other merchants in the region, but we hope you have lots of coin, and we hope the goods dont break at the end of a day.
The Iron Throne is seen watching from great distances, sometimes one, sometimes two, sometimes the groups are as large as ten, but are wary at approaching. The Iron Throne is obviosuly very aware of the casualties caused by the fighting between the two factions, and yet the Red Wizards still seem to out number them, who are now down to a few scattered pockets of men across the region.

"Mercantile Juggernauts 3".
The Thayans have been put out of bussines perhaps permantly this time. Iron Throne artillary decimated their small enclave south of the farmlands bridge, but most of the wizards, constructs and thayan knights escaped unharmed, expressing endless rage against the throne.
A week later the Iron Throne set up a "collection" outpost on the northern trade way to collect donations from willing participents, in order to finance their war effort against the red wizards. The Iron throne held the road with impunity, backed by a staggering amount of artillary hidden somewhere in the land, but it didnt last as the iron thrones artillary began to rip their outpost apart, killing all the soldiers and injureing many bystanders in the bombardment.
A few curious adventuerors found the artillary farther south as it was being fired by the Red Wizards who had taken the seige network by surprise and turned the thrones artillary against itself.

MAJOR PLOT ADVANCEMENT!!!!
I know at first I had spoken of running it tonight, but after muleing over it at work, and this night after I have decided to postpone it for a few days, so me and those assisting me can plan, and scheme and make it PERFECT.
Sometime within the next few days I am going to be running a MAJOR plot advancement for my Red Wizard/Iron Throne/Red Dragon plots.
To wet your appetitce my avid roleplayers, its going to be HUGE, more then likely spanning across most of the servers areas and will with time and effort be executed by myself, and two assisting DM's. When I get everything figured out, the specificas and what not I will post a time that I am going to aim for the event, a time that hopefully the other assisting DM's will be able to run the entire gauntlet with me, and hopefully the player attendence will be significent as well.
When the time comes, I will be laying some house rules the day of the event, yes they will be strict, but truth be told when planning something of this scale, its often nessicary to hold onto to law and order with a firm hand. I wont crack a whip behind your backs, most of the rules will be common sense, and some of them might not make sense to you as a player, but they will make life easier for us as DMs.
I know alot of my quests are already big enough in scale, and yes this is because I love to think big...this is a fantasy world where the unthinkable, and the unusal can...and do happen more then people realise.
The biggest event I have done to-date, I would have to say it was the trudge through the underdark to sneak up on the drow holed up in the valley south of beregost, it was long, violant, filled with RP and really made people think....
Alot of people have expressed interest in it, I hear alot of people talking about it ICLy when they dont think im around, and since so many people have shown an interest in it, and cant wait to see the conclusion, it is to those people that I have but one thing to say.
"I've got a present for ya"
All that being said, I know alot of people have...private interests in said matters, and I told you I would be willing to RP one on one with you and the factions involved...I know I have kinda of pushed those encounters aside and I appologise but my timeline was pretty set in stone, which I dont usually do.
If anyone and I mean ANYone wishs to play a personal or private part in the conflict, NOW is the time to make your moves to tie up loose ends.
In short, even low-levels will have a part to play in this.
In conclusion, Epic is not a big enough word, not by far.

"Armored Chaos"
Recently, great influxs of armored variations of the common roadside monsters have been patroling the country side, causeing chaos and mayhem where every they step. These bands range from well armed and armored goblins to massivly plated giants and even trolls!.
These new threats, seeming to be organized by an unknown force, recently laid seige to Beregost with hundreds of well equiped goblins and hill giants, backed by seige weapons and more troops then the Beregost defenders could only dream of matching.
Lieutenant Aegis Feld led the flaming fist garrison, as well as many local adventurerors in the defense of the town. The initial wave was defeated, but when flaming projectiles began to rain upon Beregost, Lieutenant Aegis Feld knew the village would have no chance of survival if they stayed there, and thus ordered a frontal assault on the advanceing forces that were marching down the trade way towards Beregost.
The battle was long, bloody and has left the country southern trade way in ruins, but after many days of long gruleing fighting with armored goblins and massive plated hill giants, the heros were victorious. The advanceing forces were defeated, the seige weapons smashed and the heros gained a brief insight of things to come.
When the heros confronted the hill giant leading the assult, a massive man over thirty feet tall, they found him argueing with a man of rotten flesh and bared bones, a man who radiated evil to no end. The mysterious dead man was obviously the giants superior, and expressed his extreme dissapointment at he giants waste of precious resources. The dead man vanished after promiseing that "The masters "diplomats" would soon come to the region to end the giants life", then vanished into an evil haze of darkness.
The giant, realiseing his death was set in stone, launched himself at the heros in a feeble attempt to exact revenge, but was cut down by the sheer number of skilled adventuerors.
Duke Eltan personally rewarded the heros who helped defend Beregost, writeing recommendations to religious orders for certain heros of the faiths, dishing out gold for those who wanted it, or donateing it to the organization of their choice.
He also told a few of the hero's he had an offer to make them, but was called from the chambers on other matters, the Dukes aids informed the heros they would be summoned soon for details of the Dukes offer.
This event was, to say the least TOUGH and as such the rewards reflected it.
-A few people left after the giants death and were given their reward, includeing the money the duke would have paid them.
*Each hero invovled from the beginning to end got 5000+monster given XP and 2000Gp from Duke Eltan, the flaming fist members were given 2200 gold to compensate for hazard pay. *Those who came in half way, got 2500xp and 2000Gp. *Alot of people of religious persuasions refused the gold and had it donated to the local churches of their faith, and thus were given alignment shifts and an extra 1000xp for roleplaying their alignments well. *Alot of the low levels, well they died alot but they were very good sports and stuck with the group like troopers, I felt so bad cause I knew it was tough for them but they tried so very very hard. Each low level (levels 3-9 most of them) were given 6500xp for being such good sports.

"Armored Chaos 2".
The Armored beasts that have been so common over the past month marched on Baldurs Gate, where their undead leader demanded that a man named Travis Needough be handed over to him, also giving the city of Baldurs Gate a ten day timeline.
When no answer was forth coming, the undead knight sent more of his minions forth, more powerful and better equiped these minions cut a swath of destruction across the country side. Eventually, a group of adventuerors entered his lair where they found a surpriseing civil force of the death knights armored minions. The group was granted audiance with the dead knight who gave them an extension on his time line, as long as they brought him Travis.
Those with connections managed to track down Travis and made arrangments to give the dead knight a look alike of the wanted man.
As the exchange was about to go down in the Jovial Juggler, an undead bugbear teleported into the establishment, grabbed Travis and was teleported out as the death knights minions began to teleport into the tavern where they began to slay everyone inside.
The adventuerors rallied as they often do and stormed the dead knights lair where they found the death knight, and Travis talking to a very large pitfiend, who explained quite calmly that that both owed him a very large bill for his services. The pitfiend sent them both to the nine hells, and informed the adventuerors that the Travis that died was the -real- travis, he explained that his informants had known where the real travis was and switched them out when he was teleported to the ruins.
The day wore on as the group tried to banish the devil, even going so far as to discover its name and use it to banish it, but alas the name fell on deaf ears. In a sheer act of desperation one of the adventuring wizard reached through the barrier keeping the devil in check to try and distract it from covering its ears. The barriers magic was destabalized and the devil broke the wizards neck. The devil made promises to send pay visits to each and everyones relatives and tell them what good adventurors they are, he then vanished to enjoy his new freedom on the material plane.
The place began to collapse at that moment, apparently unsettled by the battle with the free devil and it was a mad dash to safety.
The group sat out side for along time expressing worry over the now free devil, all of them unable to ignore the feeling that that they had exchanged one evil being, for another.........

"Whodunit"
Last night, prelate Francis Markus, acting high priest for the temple of Helm was found murdered last night by one of the temples acolytes. The priests body was viciously and savagly hacked apart and a bloody symbol of Tyr was found clutched in his hand, apparently broken off from the neck of his attacker.
The prelate was found murdered in his sleeping quarters and local adventuerors discoverd that the priests room had apparently been broken into by someone skilled in lock picks. The area held no bloody foot prints, no arcane residue, and there were no witness's to anyone leaveing the temple during the night.
The Flaming Fist is on full alert, and soldiers of the company can be seen going door to door and talking to the common peoples, and there is a flaming fist guard stationed on every street corner and infront of every temple. The killer is still at large.

"Infernal Auction".
There are some places, a paladin shouldnt tread lightly. A famous half-orc paladin set foot into the temple of Bhaal recently, and was made to see the error if his ways. A ghostly avatar of Bhaal assulted the knight and slew him. When the mans spirit rose from its body the avatar promised to make it re-live all of the beings the knight had killed dureing his life.
Later that day, as the knight was talking a a few roadside companions, they were assulted by a staggering number of angry souls, all of which the paladin recognized from his past!. The group was eventually overcome, and they too found themselves standing inside the temple of Bhaal, detached from their bodies.
The avatar of murder, not getting the respect he demanded, was assulted and banished from the material plane, but not before shifting the temple away from the prime, to sit in a crease in the fabric of reality. The avatar had killed two people during the last fight, Hinas Hustlefoot and Rowina Millows, who now found themselves usherd by a little boy into Myrkuls bone castle, where they discovered something about to happen, something that made their hearts sink.
As the remaining souls muled over an escape from the Bhaals temple, a planar portal ripped open and a massive beast stepped through, usheiring them quickly to the bone castle on the fugue plane. When the party arrived at the bone castle, they found Rowina and Hinas standing in pillars of light, silent and bowed heads as they stood before a horned devil at a mighty granite lecturn with a metal gavel in his hand.
The horned devil ordered the remaining adventuerors into there "designated lot positions" and explained to them the rules of conduct before the guests arrived. The majority of the group didnt understand what was going on, but most of them quivered in fear when the "guests arrived".
A short while later, a relativly handsome and human looking devil with red skin and hornes teleported into view with a half dozen pit fiend body guards."Ladies and Gentlemen, I am proud to introduce tonights first bidder, the lord of Dis and a general of the Nine Hells, please bow your heads in respect for Lord Dispater!"
The assembled adventuerors began to tremble with fear at the mighty devils presence, wondering what was going on.
"Ladies and gentlemen, the second bidder of tonights lots will be the lord of the dead Myrkul himself!" the horned devil announced in a practiced voice, as the apparition behind him floated there, silently, forebidingly.
The group really began to quake with fear, some filled with anger, some began to wimper in fear and confusion and no amount of dread.
"Ladiesand gentlemen, I am proud to introduce tonights last bidder, the blood god, the murderous one, the eviserator, I give you Bhaal the lord of murder!" The evil gods enterance was preceeded by millions of pain filled screams and bubbles of blood that seemed to pop out of thin air, but soon the malevolent god stood before them, his decayed body filling the whole temple with the reek of the dead.
"Now that everyone is here, we can start the bidding, the first item on todays lot, Rowina Millows, disiple of Torm and an excellent Martial warrior, the bid starts at five hundred million gold" the horned devil spoke calmly and cooly so everyone could hear him.
It became clear to the adventuerors what was going on, this wasnt a trial, this was an auction...an auction for their souls!.
