Yea I was playing as my PC and noticed how much the xp distribution has changed since I began here...I remember getting 130 per goblin kill at level 6...If it could be made somewhere in between what it was then and what it is now, that would prolly be perfect and that may go for all creature spawns.

now they i've reached level 3 (har!) i have some observations on the spawn/xp system in comparison the last PW i played on.
Here your mobs are smaller and the spawns more numerous, creatures tougher and each one gives more xp. This results in smaller numbers of creatures appearing more frequently (and somewhat randomly) each one being rather tough. I have to say I like this alot. It results in (at least in the low levels im playing now) much more RP during grinding as the group is not constantly battling hordes of weak creatures. It also results in the party having to be much more careful and work much more closely together as each creature individually can take down almost anyone in the party bar the front line fighters. On the PW i came from it was always just "rar charge!"
Also the higher xp per creature (compared the other PW) means we have more time to chat and emote during grind resulting in more RP, yay!!
I also have to say that the death system for low levels seems pretty good as is now. The 3% xp loss stings and means you really have to be careful. I was 200xp from level 3 most of yesterday, dying at least 3 times and losing about 300xp each time resulting in a lot of hair pulling. But that's fine, UD low-level is not meant to be easy.
I would still like to see a perma-death system introduced for epics but that's your call ;-)
thanks im liking it so far.

Just to clarify (and not to complain ) it is known that the xp gotten for killing things is way too low and is being adjusted as best you guys can economically to make it higher per kill. Is that right or are you just adjusting the xp lost on death? I love the server, but the xp per kill is just too low to make it that fun...I just wanted to make sure if this if known and being adressed

Well I'd like to say that the new xp has made grinding much more like a minimum wage job. I've slowed down considerably and I don't mind.
I was thinking about it the other day, after 29th level there will really be no point in participating in events (besides bragging rights) so taking your time isn't exactly a bad thing.

What type of stuff you kill. Or do you mean all xp all the time in general is low and you don't like it across the board?

Great... my character is at effective character level 12 and nothing gives more exp than 1 point. What on earth am I supposed to do now, go to Ice Giants. (And propably notice how they give 2 experience points each.)

Tiefing,
I am going to take todays adventuring to collect data on xp for every mob in the game. I fully expect my character to die about 30 times.
At this point, gaining experience for my level 17 char cannot be done (I lose more on death than I can take in), so I am concentrating of hoarding gold :-)
Ill be back later this afternoon with some details.
jlf2n and I were talking about this ooc in game yesterday, and he is going to have Driller look into some stuff. The more explicit details we can all provide, the better.
I am going to completely out my characters classes and stats to help in this endeavor. (I NEVER tell ANYONE about my builds, but this is to important for me not to.)

To answer you Luna, I am only level 1 and have only gone after wolves really. I have grinded on wolves for hours and haven't leveled due to getting 6 xp per kill and I am human so I only need 1000xp for a level. If you have any advice on what would help me level faster that would be great. Are wolves just an exception and most things give much more or is pretty much most creatures give that sort of xp proportional to level?

If you had a party of lets say 3, or even 2, you could go for kobolds or bandits and get better xp, since party xp is better and these mobs give higher xp as well.

(And propably notice how they give 2 experience points each.) At lvl 12 the Frost Giants should give you something like 286 xp. Or more. But at your lvl I would advise wyverns, spiders and hagspawns with a party. Or maybe some orc. They are hard to kill but good xp.

I built another char when Beta 7 came out and I could only kill wolves if I was by myself. It was a bit dull and slow going. Things got a bit different though when I hit level 2. Then I could try to take on a bandir or kobold and XP went way up. I'll talk with Jlf2n though about level 1 area's. It would be nice to get another area for starting players in the module with a different creature that gives a little bit more xp than wolves.
