I'm not sure how, but the old thread got deleted. So lets start a new one! (This is one of my favorite threads)
So tell us about how you come to find your way here? Was it through an article? chat room? word of mouth?
The more info you guys share here the better we can understand our marketing needs. So fire away!

Right, I'll be the first to restart it by saying it was a fluke. I was looking through the PWs on the Vault and this one struck my fancy due to the name bringing up some nostalgic memories.
And now, here I am!

To be honest I've never even played through the campaign.. I bought the game solely for the multiplayer aspect and because it was set in the Forgotten Realms (been a big FR fan since PnP days). I tried Thesk first because of the heavy RP rules there... but came here after testing the waters a few times and finding great RP and a busy player base.
I found it through the NWN2 Vault, saw that it was set on the Sword Coast and that's all she wrote! I am actually a Red Knight fanatic so I was hoping the Citadel of Strategic Militancy was here.. but alas maybe someday...
I've been here since about September or so and love all of the changes that have been made since then.. we went from lagtastic crashfests during events to the smoothest server I've played on yet.. and the areas that have been added, the items, and the ever growing playerbase certainly has reaffirmed my decision time and again!

I was here awhile back when the server just started and enjoyed it then. I came back for other reasons, my old server is dying a slow death.
But, on the bright side.....this place rocks. I, to, just found it at random on Gamespy.
I'll be here for awhile....

*Opens the old dusty tome and starts to read*
It all began in early 2008, that was a good year. Warm year I say. I remember because my old Margareth got the flu and I had to serve her soup for five days.
*Chuckles* Oh ol' Margareth...good times...
*Clears his throat* Well, as I was saying, I bought this nice game, perhaps in March, and I was looking at the Vault for a module, because honestly, the single player campaign suck. Bored me out of my mind. A 10 year old can finish that game in days.
So I found out about the PW concept. I had never heard about that before. So, I came here to the forum and found my way around.
*Laughs* I remember when I first logged in the only thing I saw was Candlekeep, I was the only one logged and I went outside. Guess what I found? Wolves. And the thickest forest/wood this server has ever seen. I think Josh was a bit high when he built that area. Flowers and bushes everywhere, you couldnt even see the ground, or the wolves for all that matter. But I was in love for the place. I could stay just because of Candlekeep.
And then it began to grow, fast, faster than I could imagine. Its even strange to look at it now, so huge, so many players. Sometimes I walk down the bridge in the Farmlands and remember when we were like 5 guys online. Now there are at least 30 at all times. Sometimes 40.
And we were all so poor, gold was really, really important.
But anyway, thats the tale folks. More to come in a near future.
*Closes the old dusty tome and coughs a bit*

I already said it before, but I'll say it again. I heard about this from word of mouth. I tried to finish the main campaign before getting too much into multiplayer so I could get the hang of manipulating the controls, but I quit on that about 1/3 of the way and just stuck to multi.

I was a DM/Admin/Dev/Player at The Heartlands Project. We had a nice PW for NWN1, and couldn't quite pull it together for NWN2 do to many RL issues getting in everyones way (not necessarily a bad thing, but it sank our PW).
jlf2n approached us about merging our Scornubel based pw with his vision for Balders Gate and the Sword Coast. Again it kind of fell apart.
Once our PW officially died (we pulled the plug) I joined here as a player.
I joined on Apr 28, 2008. I am not sure exactly where that puts me on the list, but I think there were under 10 registered at that time.
Happy I am.

I actually found my way to this server quite randomly.
I was surfing through a couple of sites, looking for random Baldur's Gate portraits, when I clicked on the link that led me to your website.
Found it quite interesting but saw it was in Beta. I clicked on the link to the screenies and that made up my mind!
I just joined a few days ago, but I'm liking it so far. ;D

i've been playing d&d (and RP pnp games in general) since 1977 or thereabouts. I have been a total D&D crpg fanatic having played the baldur's gate series (best CRPG EVAH), the entire NWN1 series and the Entire NWN2 series (yes the OC was so easy it hurt).
I started on a PW back in feb of 2008 and over the course of last year came to realize that despite that PWs large playerbase it just wasn't my cup of tea; nothing ever happened.
So in disgust i decided to try another PW that a mate had told me he was playing on since he left our old PW. I logged in around December 08 just in time for the opening of the UD (i'm a drow nut) and have been hooked ever since.
The thing that sets this place apart from my last PW that i lost faith in? 1). Quality of the Environments. 2). Use of very good haks. 3). The stellar DM population. 4). Responsive of the DEVs to the playerbase. 5). The DEVs sincere desire to rectify some of the more egregious exploits in NWN2
(not nec. in that order)

I joined back in July and haven't been right since. I was lookin for a good multiplayer experience and actually found BG on the NWN2 pw forums. It was a miracle that this was the first one I tried. Now you couldn't chase me away with a shotgun!

Played on another server for about two months and in the last weeks it started to be very slow going into my drow house guild. Many players including the leader were absent. It was a fun server but I wasn't quite happy with the quality of the artwork.. let say a lot of butchering in many areas and the lack of development. So I went around trying different other servers. The first time I tested BG, I was stomped by the graphics quality but the connection wasn't very good with only 5-6 players online. Two weeks passed and decided to give it a second try. Connection was perfect and I had lots of fun exploring and got into a DM event which hooked me pretty good. Told many friends from my previous server to come try it and since we are 15 if not more here playing daily.

Well after leaving TFR I wanted to find a new home server to play on so I read the reviews and the info about BG on the nwn2 Vault, what I saw there about BG got me intrigued to pay a visit and I am glad I did! Ahhhh Home Sweet, Home.

My boyfriend linked me here a long, long time ago, before I had NWN2. I remember seeing a screenshot of the Sorcerous Sundries and thinking it looked pretty. After I got NWN2, recently, he apparently started playing here and linked me again, and I've been hooked since.

About 5 months ago I decided to learn area building in the toolset. So, I downloaded some prefab areas from the nwvault, one of them was a set with the Sword Coast areas. What can I say, I was in total awe, spent several hours gawping at them, the most beautiful work created with NWN2 toolset I've ever seen! However, the fact that the areas were actually a part of a PW completely slipped my attention >.>
It was a few months later that I was pointed in the direction of BG by the fellow Russian-speaker.
Well... and now seems I've left my old server too, hehe.

I started a fresh campaign in NWN2 about a month ago the guild I'm with asked what I was doing and we all found out we had the game and started a sever with some mods. we stumbled across your site by going through the what servers were available and thought a persistent world would be cool. We all loved BG so we tried it and have been in it almost every night sense.
