I love these stories. I'm sure a lot of you don't know so I will tell mine. I have been modding for several years now on games like Stronghold I & II, Elder Scrolls: Oblivion and a few others. Most recently though I had been churning out area and quest mods for Oblivion (a lot of you familiar with the game will probably know the Anvil Bay Expansion mod). I started thinking about the good ol D&D days and decided to start a version of Waterdeep for Oblivion. I was going to build it to scale in one giant area. Someone mentioned I should build it for NWN2 since they didn't have a whole lot of area designers. I came over a few days later to snoop around and I caught the Forgotten Realms bug again. I've been a fan of the Forgotten Realms nearly all my life so it didn't take much. My original intention was to build areas and meet a scripter to try and get a few single player modules out there to break the ice. I started posting screenshots soon after hoping to attract a scripter. A lot of time passed before any sort of responses came at all. I had also recently learned about PWs and online play. I set out looking for a PW and tried just about everyone out there. I even joined with a couple teams albeit briefly. The only PW that kept me online for more than 3 hours was Shores of Haldun. That PW is an excellent piece of work and I played there for a while. I had a blast there but one thing really bugged me. It was not set in the Forgotten Realms. The more I thought about it the more I wanted a PW set somewhere in western Faerun. Pretty soon I started posting in the PW section and along came Driller. He took the areas I had built and brought them to life with scripting. He even provided us our first server. From there we started growing, and here we are.

Very nice Josh,
It's the best PW by far now *Smiles*

Hehe... yeah Josh I think my bro and I used some of your mods for Oblivion, that was our game of choice prior to stumbling upon NWN2 (we never even played NWN1).
Oblivion was the shazbot - but not being in the realms, and not being online multiplayer, really limited it a lot I think.
Anyway, I am glad we stumbled upon all this when we did!

I first found out about this PW on the NWN 2 boards on the bioware forums, just after I bought Storm of Zehir and was looking for a place to play online. Also, I always take a look on the number of players that each server has on the gamespy client, and this PW almost always has the most players (or it's one of the top 3). It's always nice to play where there are most people, cause it increases the chance of good rolepaying interactions and it's a sign of a good server.

After a re-play through of the OC I decided that in the 2 years since I got the game it was likely the online community had grown a bit. So I went onto the official boards and looked through and this server came up. I tried it out, and now it's been a week or so and I'm level 10.
I was a huge NWN1 PW player back in the heyday, largely in the time between when I quit Everquest the first time and when I picked it up the second time. I quit Everquest 2 last year, and have been without a persistent world RPG for some time, so it's looking like this will be my online home for a little while.

A couple buddies and I really enjoyed a PW on NWN1 together, and and recently decided we'd like to get back into it with NWN2. One of them did some research and stumbled across this one. As BG and BG2 were two of our favorite games of all time, it seemed like a logical choice. The PW we played on NWN1 eventually became a disastrous monstrosity of powerbuilds and over-the-top scripting, so it's really great to be playing in a more DnD rich world.
Only been here a little over a week, but I love it so far and hope to be around for some time to come.

A couple of friends told me about this server. We all played on a different server at the time, but we were all growing tired of it.
So I decided to check it out. I spent a couple of weeks browsing the forum and stuff, and planned things out with my friends about whether we'd use our previous characters or not, before I actually started playing here.
Now we've all pretty much left our old server for this one. The terrain detail, great DM's and nice players all trapped us to stay here.

I like reading these stories ;D As for me, I always want a PW set somewhere on the original map of Faerun not in some fantasy region. Im glad I stumbled with this one.

I heard about his place from a friend. After last night, I've decided to play here full time. I spent a good hour or more with Caveman rping near the shrine of Mielekkei night. And, the others I rp'd with after was great, I've got a good journal to do. *pumps his fist* I'll be a seeker soon as the dm can give me the oath. The place I came from, shall remain nameless. But this place has converted me wholeheartedly. The community here is alive and vibrant with a good host of rp'rs and even the people who don't like to rp are nice. I've found few who won't do it all. I feel this place is excellent because one can find good rp, but not feel like they have to log off or be ostracizes if they don't want and just want to grind, hangout etc. This is my favorite things about the server. No pressure, no harassment, no worries. To the staff (dm's, founder, builders, etc): the server is absolutely gorgeous and very well laid out....I've found myself taking alot of screenies lately. Thank you for your hardwork. If this isn't the best FR server on Gamespy, I don't know what is. Please, I beg you, keep it up!

I read about the server while doing my weekly browse of the Dragon age: origins forums for news about that game. It would seem a good place to advertise as it's mostly poplulated by aging Baldur's Gate fans (like me) who continue to be disappointed with modern RPGs.
This is server is my first time playing nwn online and the fact that I felt familiar with all the locations from the original BGI really helped with the transition to online play.

Only been here a little over a week, but I love it so far and hope to be around for some time to come. I was that researcher I came across BG:TSCC via 'nwvault.ign.com' and 'nwn2.wikia.com'. On 'nwn2.wikia.com', I found general information about joining a persistent world. There's a list of resources for locating the right PW as well. That list lead me to 'nwvault.ign.com'. On 'nwvault.ign.com', I sorted the gameworlds rank and number of votes in order to see which ones appeared to be the most tried and true. Those stats, combined with my and Rokranon's obsession with the Baldur's Gate line of PC games, made joining BG:TSCC a natural choice.
