Small alignment shifts may be included when quests are added to the next update. Also, keep up on the RP. Amber got a point toward evil yesterday by casting Vampiric Feast during a battle (V Feast has Evil descriptor). DM Wizard ticked her alignment 1 toward evil.

To make sure that no one has forgot to turn off messenger or file sharing how about testing the users ping ? If ping is extremely slow, player should not be allowed to join. This level should be "set safe", so that this would only be happening if the player was running one of these things. If this isnt possible nevermind, it's just an idea.

Jayni, You are thinking of peer to peer networking. NWN2 uses a client/server connection. A player's ping does not affect the others. Thanks, -driller To make sure that no one has forgot to turn off messenger or file sharing how about testing the users ping ? If ping is extremely slow, player should not be allowed to join. Id like to thank 'whenwizardswar', for the respectful response. Ive said my piece there and im totally down with reacting IC.
Id like to repeat my plea for a temple to Umberlee, fearing it might have gotten lost in the shuffle of discussion about running. One of the Sea Queens biggest temples in the whole world is right here. This also one of the richest faiths in the realms too, with a portion of /every/ merchants goods going in sacrifice to her, /every/ sailor that climbs on a boat tosses a coin to her altar before setting sail, even good-aligned folk remember to leave her a coin or a bit of candy.
Her temple shouldnt be out in the water away from the city either, it should be front and center in the docks where it is easily accessable to all the people getting onto or off of a ship. Think of Umberlees cult as a medieval catholic church... a huge taxation machine fueled on fear. No port city can survive being shunned by sailors and captains because the local dukes didnt support the bitches temple.
I know the server is behind on interior builders, ill volunteer to make the insides of the temple myself if allowed.

Hi. Yes I know NWN doesn't run like a Peer to peer network, but the ping of the players machine, if running peer to peer programs, might be bad. That way it would be possible to tell those who ran these programs apart from the others.

I have to agree that it will be up to the players to decide the direction of the server as far as RP vs. Hack and slash. I feel that a great amount of work has been done to make this server look amazing and to have the feel of Faerun. Now what good is it to put all this detail into an environment that folks will just blow by while running to get to that next kill? When you walk around you really start to notice the hidden beauty that the builders have spent hours and hours of time on. What good is it to have Dm’s make long range story lines for people that really only care about running around killing anything that moves (including chickens and live stock) so they can get to the next level. Yes leveling is an important part of D&D, however it’s something that is earned not only from encounters with monster but also from overcoming obstacles in the story in creative non-combative ways (I believe the term is role-play). If you walk down a road a hundred times you start to learn the lay of the land so when a DM changes some small aspect of that road say for a plot hook, you really take notice instead of running by the hook because you’ve never noticed what was different. Running has its place (running away from an unstoppable enemy, warn the guards of an attack, etc)in RP don’t get me wrong, but to do it nonstop is just plain silly. So what do YOU want to see?

If i'm going somewhere I run, if i see another player I stop and walk... it's polite. If I dont feel like stopping to walk, I go stealth, it's good to be a ranger.

I don't think we should discount all the cardio-vascular benefits that are achieved through running. Besides, it is the only sure-fire method to eliminate those unsightly "love-handles".
And as much as I love having a bar as my 'temple', Umberlee is rather important for a coastal city!

That appearance changer looks awesome. As a player, I've always really liked the choice to change my character's appearance.
I think we really need the scaled challenge rating encounter tool for DMs.
Also: deletable placeables, and better DMFI all round, if available.

Something inside me doesn't like the idea of making cloth look like plate or vice/versa, but that could just be me.

People can choose to run if they wish, but you might just miss something important if you do. Just be aware that some players might take offense to you running past as well, if you ignore them.

This, is easily done by the DM, and remember we are always watching.
When I first joined the staff, people were pretty true to their alignment, but now i see all kinds of contra-dictory actions against their alignment so i have been doing alot of adjusting.
(Edited as I didnt know Jason had already spoken about the 3 PT alignment change amber got the other day for actiong extremely against her alignment heh.
Just be patient, I personally have seen three orignially evil pcs that are leaning their way towards the light side.
