A grim looking man, clad in the Full Plate of a Sergeant of The Flaming Fist walks into the Elfsong Tavern. Just as he has before in several other establishments he tacks up a parchment upon the message board near the entrance. The symbol of The Flaming Fist Mercenary Company is centered at the top of the parchment, the following words are written upon that page.
The Flaming Fist seeks men and women to fill its ranks. Our ranks are open to those of good nature who seek to make a difference and make the Sword Coast safe for its citizens.
The Flaming Fist is charged with assisting the City Watch to keep order within the City of Baldurs Gate. They are also responsible for patrolling the Lions Way, and The Trade Way as far South as Nashkel. Keeping the roads clear and "assisting" travelers in need of help. In Times of War the The Flaming Fist is used by the Dukes to oppose forces that threaten the security of the people of the Sword Coast. Seek out your local recruitment officer today to discuss your enlistment.
Thieves, Cutthroats, and Blackguards beware, traitors to The Flaming Fist are hunted...mercilessly.
Sergeant Huss sees a few heads turn in his direction curiously. As he leaves he hears the scrape of chairs as several patrons walk over to the board their curiosity getting the better of them.
(((All classes are accepted into the Fist (fighters, wizards, clerics, rangers, rogues, etc) please keep in mind that the members of The Flaming Fist Guild have joined to RP being a Flaming Fist member. It is a military organization and there is the beginning of a rank structure, several members have already been promoted.)))
Post here, or send DM Ice a pm in game to get details on how to join.

*If this is still going i have a character who would like to join though i dont know how well she will be suited for the job*
- A young human female stumbles into the Elfsong Tavern, with only a few coins in her coinpurse, and her stomach feeling the debt of coin, E' Veleih spots the parchment tacked on with a pin to the weathered and crude board calling for able men and women to fill ranks. Unable to find work other places, and after eating what little food she could afford, E' Veleih heads for the Flaming Fist Headquartes in the Palace District.....

((A giant of a man dressed in gleaming full plate armor displaying an assortment of ribbons and metals upon his breast plate, stands proudly before the bulletin board located just inside the city of Baldur's Gate. Standing next to him nearly dwarfed in comparison a thin sickly lad of no more then fifth-teen summers holds a parchment stamped with the official seal of the Flaming Fist Mercenary Company upon it. With a simple nod from the armored giant the lad begins to tack on the parchment, after which a few small gold coins are dropped into his tiny dirty hands, and his hair tousled with. With a lit pipe sticking out of his mouth, the barrel chested warrior reads the following.........)) "Nearly Thirty years ago one of the dukes of Baldur's Gate, Eltan, founded the Flaming Fist mercenary company building it into one of the most effective fighting forces in the Realms. Today the Flaming Fist is known to be largest and most powerful private army in all of Faerun. That is mainly due to a result of decades of hard work and effort, both in training and inaccumulating magical items for use on the battlefield. Now the adventuring branch of Flaming Fist known only as the Road Wardens, calls upon any man or woman that deems themselves worthy to be a professional soldier and carry on that legacy. Anyone of interest seek out your nearest Flaming Fist recruiting officer for more details and find out what it means to be initiated by the flame. Glory to the Fist!"
Signed..
Lieutenant Justin Crownsilver 2nd in command of the 3rd Road Wardens, stationed out of Baldur's Gate.

The Flaming Fist is doing a massive recruitment to boost numbers. New recruits are offered a gold bonus for joining, a suit of armor and a regular salary. Those interested should speak to Lt. Crownsilver, Sgt. Aiden McBride, or apply at the Flaming Fist Headquarters.
----------- OOC:
If you are interested in joining, send me a PM and I'll try to set something up. The regular pay will be done on a weekly basis (Real Time).
If you have an active Flaming Fist member PC and he hasn't been paid in awhile, drop me a message. I have to do this manually at the moment, so please be patient.

Since the Flaming Fist has begun large scale recruitment, many people of all types have been seen entering the Headquarters building. Several drunks looking for an easy bonus for signing on have been thrown out, along with the usual hecklers and roustabouts. But there have also been many individuals of good intent expressing interest in serving the Flaming Fist.

A grey haired, yet young looking man in dented metal armor walks directly into the entrance of the fist castle and hands a scroll bearing the symbol of Tyr as a seal to the nearest attendant.
Officers of the Flaming Fist,
I have recently come to your land from my home in Neverwinter for reasons that are my own. I've come to offer what aid I can give to the people of this land, and to bring Tyr's justice to light, as I consider myself an extension of his will. If you are looking for honest, protecting, and just people to join your order then I would like to be considered. My skills in battle are moderate, and the boons that Tyr grant me are quite powerful. I have not yet the prowess in battle to be a member of the Beregost defenders, though in the future, if you accept me that is, I would like to be considered for membership in the south. I have heard the region around has been in dire straights for some time. If you would accept me I would be deeply grateful, and would do my best in the service of your order. I have read the rules that your soldiers must follow, and have no problem upholding those rules. I look forward to hearing from you on this matter.

The Flaming Fist, in order to keep up with the times, is offering better bonus pay to those who join, plus an upgrade in equipment and free refills on healing potions/kits.
Sign up today!
Note: Since I tend to forget who has expressed interest in joining, please just send me a tell in-game any time you see me on as a DM. Reminders are very helpful!

Kahlen sits in the Elfsong, empty tankards and platter left with greasy scraps decorate his table. As he sits back pulling long draws from the orcish bone pipe given to him by his brother, he thinks...
As his eyes draw in those that come and go he catches notice of the worn poster hanging proudly...
The Flaming Fist
His interactions with this company of mercenaries and guards has varied from trusted ally to uneasy assistance, but overall he knew that Duke Eltan was an honorable man and ran an honorable force. He also knew that they, unlike his former comrades, held the proper distrust for the dark ones. So much so that a bounty was placed on the heads of such vile creatures.
As he inhaled a deep pull from his pipe, he threw a few gold to his faithful serving wench, and headed for the Citadel. A new beginning was in order...

After slaying some lizard folk he wanted to get a drink at the Elfsong tavern... Karner was about to enter the Elfsong tavern when a notice on the bulletin board caught his attention. On the notice in bold letters it read.
"The Flaming Fist wants you!".
He thought he could use some extra gold and as a paladin he was eager to help the citizens of the sword coast. After a nice drink in the tavern he went to the flaming fist citadel to see if he could join.

Daemon had wanted nothing more than to be a member of The Flaming Fist his whole life. Growing up in Baldur's Gate he always found himself awestruck when in the presence of a solider. They seemed to "have it all" thought Dameon. Daemon could only hope one day to protect and preserve his fair city.
When Daemon turned "of age" he dawned his best armor, trusty bastard sword and walked towards the castle with his chest held high...

This is an update since some people seem to think that the Flaming Fist is all warriors. On the contrary, the Flaming Fist is a mercenary army, and as such, they have all sorts of classes represented by their members. They accept the following general classes:
Warriors (Fighters, Paladins) Apothecaries (Clerics, Favored Souls) Scouts (Rogues, Rangers -- but no pickpockets and cutthroats!) Mages (Wizards, Sorcerers)
Note that they can be mixed and matched and prestige classes are allowed as well. But if anyone takes ranger, he is expected to NOT use the animal companion as ranger means more of a scout when in the Fist and not a nature protector.

So... a bard with a bit of ranger is not welcome?
