Where am i suppose to go to loot chests as a level 27 PC.
everywhere i go it says I am too high for the chests even in places i am still getting exp.
adventurers creed is gold, glory, and god likely in that order why can I no longer get more of the first?

Heh, my surfacer is level 14, and I don't know of a single chest I can loot. But it's supposedly being fixed.

I just want a save that saves location, so I can use return to previous location again. Chests would be nice too though, but I think loot should be upscaled in probability a bit more.

Hnefi, at level 14 there are two chests in the Mountain Ogre cave you can get. Also, one in the Mino's I believe.
Personally, I was disheartened when I heard this script was being put into place. With the chests respawning loot every twenty minutes or so, there is really no reason for this. This is just another one of those scripts, like many others, that punishes players for getting to higher levels.

If you want to look at it that way but the truth is that high levels don't need to be taking loot from the only chests that low levels can access. This is especially true since the chests will stop working after being looted too often. Once the chests are redistributed correctly there will be plenty of areas for high levels to go. There are chests in the Cloud Peak castle, Orc caves, hag caves, minotaur ruins, haunted house, mountain ogre caves and Durlag's Tower that should be good (and if not, will be when fixed) for high levels.

Hnefi, at level 14 there are two chests in the Mountain Ogre cave you can get. Also, one in the Mino's I believe. I don't think I can survive at the mountain ogres; I can hardly run through the fields of the dead without dying. And I've checked every chest I've found in the Mino area without luck. But again, the devs are aware of the problem and have said it's being fixed. I just hope it's soon. Having an AC of 29 when the enemies that give 50 XP have an AB of 20 and above isn't very nice.

I have no idea when the next update will go in but surviving without the chests shouldn't be too hard for a little while. I suppose that having played here in the days when wolves were the sole source of gold, the amount of loot available now seems luxurious.
You can always do what I have been doing. Use a low level rogue and have fun seeing just how far the PC can penetrate into dangerous territory, raid chests and escape without dying. So far the best I've accomplished has been to loot the lowest level of the bugbear mines with a level 7 PC. I'll have to attempt something tougher the next time.

Hallelujah!
Soloing a thief, especially a low level one, is fun. It's like Splinter Cell meets D&D. One of the most fun things around if there is a chance of being caught. Nothing like running like a fire is in your pants when something spots you.
And, SirC, if I may add.. walking past others that are in the midst of battle (say, as I fight three gnolls with a lvl 3 character at the gates of the gnoll fort last night *cough*) very near the chests to get the loot while the other character fights the mobs.. that is pretty shady too. You don't have to stealth to be a ninja looter.

It sure it fun. There aren't many tasks as exciting as passing a bugbear leader with a PC that has 19 AC and 42 HP while hoping to stay unnoticed.
And yes, as Carnifex says, sneaking up to chests is only bad if others are already battling their way to reach them. Ninja looting without sneaking is bad too. The only thing that makes sneaky ninja looters worse is that they can do so without the other players realizing it and avoid the moniker (unless players use the player menu to find out who just looted chests under their noses). If a DM is around though, ninja-looting can be pretty dangerous. hehehe!

I don't see what the big deal is... how a a rogue to be a rogue without stealing? Way I see it, the server would be enriched if bounties could be placed on said rogue by NPC's and players alike and then be required to pay a bail. Such will never ever happen though... it is just beyond the scoup of the scripts available and even if it wasn't, simply beyoind the comfort level of those that linger here.

Did anyone have an answer for Ovarf's OP? My primary is several levels behind him but running into the same issue. Anyone have any guidelines for the various loot areas and recommended levels? Are there any for high levels without epic traps?
