The S O Z content is not all bad its jest a bit buggy like everything else with NWN2, so jest make some changes and don't remove it. I agree the Dino has no place here unless its DM approved on a case by base(Need a very good reason to have it or you wont have it) , and everything else brought up in this post I have two things to say. Fix what needs to be fixed and don't fix whats ok and if I make a Druid that has a Dino who traveled from their area then and i write a realy good history that the DMs like then its up to them not anyone else. No complaining rules are rules.

Hello everyone,
I'm very new here, and also fairly new to nwn2, I only bought it a month ago. I was wondering if there is any other restrictions in place for SoZ? I have it installed, and I want to create an air genasi swashbuckler. Is the air genasi race OK, or is it forbidden?
Perhaps if you could place a list of forbidden races and classes on the first post, that would end any further enquires like mine!
Thankyou.

Everything what came in SoZ isn't allowed, that means Yuan-ti, Grey orc, Hellfire warlock, Doomguide and Swashbuckler (and some spells/feats). So in short : You can make an air genasi, but not an air genasi swashbuckler.
Heh, np.

Thank you very much ellemere, that helps me to plan my character. I am yet to download the required files to actually play on the server, but I don't have enough downloads left this month.

I've been waiting since SoZ came out before I started playing again so I could make a Yuan-ti character... guess I'll just have to wait longer.

As they stand right now, Yuan-ti are way overpowered. If they are allowed as a player race, I expect them to become the most played race very quickly.

I'm pretty sure that that race will need modified such as the Svirf have been. But that is part of the reason SoZ hasnt been implemented as of yet. That expansion requires a lot of balancing and testing. The staff are already working on a lot of projects so SoZ will have to wait until ample time can be put into testing it. Thats the best I can gather from previous post and such.

I hope not... There are still players who cant get the expansion, If the content comes available I hope that you can still play without it. I don't really want the expansion. I have no intention of playing the campagne or even playing any of the classes. I know there are others that feel different and thats fine. I just hope that once the content comes available that we aren't REQUIRED to have it installed. I feel the same way. I joined recently, and it would really suck if I had to buy the expansion. The expansion SHOULD NOT BE REQUIRED JUST YET. Give other people more time.

Another new kid round the block here, but from what I had seen when MotB was first released, I used MotB's custom content (Well, the classes and feats anyway) on my old server (When it didn't require MotB yet) without any obvious problems to other players. I don't know if this will work the same way with SoZ. But the way I see it, is if it's going through re-balancing before being implemented, it'll be part of the .hak files and thus you'll need the expansion nonetheless.

Its been six months which is plenty to have bought the game either at a local store or by online. Just what reason would there be that you could not pay 30-40 american for it by now? Also I believe if it was put in the player would not be REQUIRED to have it. However certian races would not be viewable to the player (like half orcs) which could cause game crashes ,this happend to me on another pw that had SoZ before I did. The good news is though some worlds have put in expansions without making it required.

Thesk implimented it with very little trouble. They even began working on an overhead map last I was there, I helped to create content for it. The stuff is worth implimenting if for no other reason, the music. Its awesome.
The downside is, there are some grossly overpowered spells. One of them is a second level spell which makes a cleric immune to criticle hits AND sneak attacks... as though they weren't powerful enough as it was. Now a class which was already nearly unbeatable by melee characters just became impossible. Que a little damage resistance, and the cleric becomes invulnerable to physical attack.

I definently agree here. Living Undeath should be removed as a spell. Cleric and Favored Souls gained Spell Mantles already, and even that is too much.
But on the otherside, SoZ brought up some fun new content, like Swashbuckler. It would be fun to play him, a different kind of fighter. Also we get pureblood Orcs, and that would bring up some new RP possibilities.
Hellfire Warlock is just too bugged. As if the base class wasn't. First the HW levels don't scale with Eldritch Blast progression, so you lose otherwise 2d6 blast power you'd get by progressing as a plain Warlock.
Furthermore, you can negate Con penalty by Death Ward, and Con penalty is inflicted by each target instead of round, which means if you are mobbed by 7-8 opponents you would be dead in two rounds just by Con drop to zero.
Doomguide offers some good RP, which we would need to change it in Doomguide of Myrkul.
But the problem can be with Juan Ti. They are just too good.

im all about restricting overly powered stuff.
The spell "Living Undeath" would be awesome "IF" a couple changes were made. If you get all the strengths of the undead... you ought to have the weaknesses. Damaged by holy water and healing, and turnable based on your HD like any other form of undead. That would be a nice balance. The crappy -2 to Charisma just doesn't cut it.
I wonder how many people would accidently commit hari-kari by guzzling a healing potion, forgetting about the spell. HA. Once in a while you'll see a zombie who spawns with a cure potion in its inventory do that. Great fun.
