Adz before taking the high road on the subject of personal attacks, it's not hard to review your post history. I've seen you more than once trying to refute a point by insulting someone's intelligence.
As far as soz goes I'll deal with it if it's implemented.
edited* I saw one post, so ignore the portion. oops

well in this particular instance mingming was the one engaging in personal attacks from her first post and i have not responded in kind.
nor have i resorted to childish smiting over an issue i disagree with her on.
as far as the single other instance you refer to i assume that was in regards to the dolt who thought it would be cool to run around town in balor form and/or kill people in the streets because he was so uber no city guard could touch him.
i will take your concern at face value however: maintaining a level of civil discourse on the forums is imperative imho.
If you feel i am attacking someone personally i would be very appreciative if you could point it out to me so i don't come across as an idiot/dolt/tool. And conversely if you feel someone is attacking me personally i would be grateful if you would tell them to stop.
cheers

Nah, that wasn't it but I guess you made my original assumption(of more than once) true lol.
karma for taking that well, I wasn't expecting it.

The main problem I see with integrating SoZ content is simply this: It doesn't fit in Baldur's Gate. Sure with Faerun as a whole maybe....but unless we want to have a good in-game explanation why there is a huge emigration from that part of the world, and also alienate a fair portion of the playerbase, I say we stay far, far away. SoZ was mostly a single player experiment. "What do you get when you throw a bunch of RP'ers in a cage with snakes?" To which the reply is and was, "I've had it with the mother effin snakes on this mother effin server!!!"

I think both of you guys have made your stance clear and this disagreement has ran its course. Lets not have any future arguing over this as its a moot point anyways. We are a long ways away from adding SoZ stuff.

Ya'll might want to warn folks not to update their client until you update the server.

I created new character yesterday (Gray Ork - soz character) and after longing i probably crash server (i wont try it again dont worry ). So there is one main issue for you to update server to SOZ, cos SOZ content crash server. also feats like summon dinosaur may crash server and players. P.S i created dark gnome after and it was ok, but i could not find bloody exit from underdark town for 30 min, where the hell is it

The exit is at the peak of the spire in Northern Sshamath I think. It's been awhile since I was there so I can't say for sure that is the right section of the city.

I just deleted about 6 posts from here. This isn't the place to argue about how you feel the PW should be run.

On the subject of removing cheese, I normally agree with Adzling on most of his views (that I've read), since certain things are entirely cheesy (Clerics, Stormlords). However, I think it starts to concern me when we limit "too much" (quotes, because that is entirely subjective) of what a player can do with their character. Don't take this as a "if Mr. Bob wants to make a RDD he should be able to", and certainly don't take it as a criticism of the decisions made up to this point... the staff here has done an excellent job in balancing the server by reducing a minimum of cheese to keep things fun. RDD is a really cool class concept, and while it may not be *quite* as powerful on a High Magic World, on a low magic world like this the stats it gets are just beyond broken. When you can get as much +strength bonus (base) as most high level fighters, as well as other stats, and it's hard to find items that even give +2 to a stat, you can begin to formulate how this will only lead to a multitude of broken builds. If it were me, I would have just limited the prestige class to 20+ levels of Bard/Sorc (or something similar) before it can be taken... but I respect the choice that was made for sure. OK, moving on, before I ramble more and forget my point, I feel Mingming has some really valid points in this case, I don't think the Dino companion is so powerful that it ruins gameplay. I've used it in the campaigns some, and a bit in Module play (offline), and found it to be fun, and probably where it should be balance wise for the cost of an entire feat. I mean Clerics get bonuses larger than that from picking Domains FOR FREE, and the staff hasn't removed all of those yet. However, since it's a Dino there would have to be some good RP reason for them having one, like where their character came from and acquired the pet, and I can't think of any good reasons off the top of my head. On the subject of the Cleric spell to gain crit immunity, Stone Body is a better spell in many ways, but I'm not going to comment on how powerful this spell is overall. I think it's largely a PvP ability and Clerics kind of dominate there anyways. In all honesty though, removing that spell isn't going to dilute Cleric's power in any substantial way, they have a full arsenal of amazingly strong spells that dwarf that one. A good start for "fixing" Clerics might be adjusting Divine Power considerably (not removing, unless it has to be done), I see that as the main source of Cleric cheese - turning their one "weakness" into them having the BAB of a fighter... after having played my Stormlord (Cleric of Talos), though I do completely love the RP with the character, the flavor of it, etc... it makes every other class pale in comparison with 50 damage hits and 130 damage crits 5 times per round at level 15.... I was storming through epic zones, killing impossible ranked monsters with ease, and only dying to fluke critical failure save rolls on petrification/traps/etc (see SL's DO have a weakness! lol). So anyways, I think the problem isn't the feats being discussed, it's lingering balance issues which might be a better source of focus for the overall balance of this PW. However, I'm no DM, dev, and I'm certainly new to this incarnation of DnD (though I'm a vet with PnP and older games), so don't take my words too seriously. Maybe just food for thought. I hope NO ONE will see in this any attempt to criticize choices made by the devs/DM's, the ruleset, etc... I like things the way they are. And with that crushing wall of text unleashed...

Well, if this server stays low magic, then saves matter. Steadfast determination will help the fighter types increase their will save. So, there is at least 1% of SOZ that isn't cheese. However, the other 99% of SOZ is debatable. ;D
