Listing of possible creatures (I dont know what is in the toolkit or whatever..):
Kuo-Toa Hooked Horrors Mind Flayers Troglodytes Myconids Hobgoblins/Bugbears/Goblins (nearer the surface maybe? and a tougher than on the surface)
I'd really like to see areas with two or more spawn types. The levels can (and prob should) be the same, but a mixture of creature types (Like 2-3 bugbears and a mind flayer) spawning together would be pretty sweet.

Hopefully everyone agrees with me on this, I don't want to see some of the more powerful fearsome creatures such as mind flayers become grinding fodder for like Lv10's MindFlayers are usually one of the more rare/powerful/dangerous creatures of the Underdark so being able to slaughter them like nothing is kinda lame.
So far I love the beholders =P

Also as a drow rogue I had SERIOUS problems leveling altogether so the beginning mobs should be easy or at least have low hit points.
Also most drow starting out have to gain 6000xp to get to level 2 and must do this with like 6-8 hit points so hopefully the mobs will do less damage =o

The most notorious race of Underdark humanoids are the Dark Elves. They are vicious and cunning enemies. They live in huge underground cities run by their nobility and led by the priestesses of Lloth, the Spider Queen. For centuries, Dwarves and Dark Elves ("the Drow") have waged war beneath the Forgotten Realms. The dwarven halls are in decline, now, and several of their kingdoms are completely gone, their strongholds abandoned or taken over by hostile humanoids. Other races making their homes in the Underdark include: * Standard PC Races: Dwarves, Gnomes. There are several varieties of each, and just about any type can be found in the Underdark at times. A few Humans also make the Underdark their home, though seldom permanently. * Duergar (Gray Dwarves): a nasty and greedy offshoot of the standard dwarf, these ghastly-looking dwarves have arcane talents. * Svirfneblin (Deep Gnomes): these masters of illusion magic are typically cautious and secretive gem miners. * Illithids (Mind Flayers): These horrid-looking creatures are known for their mental powers and slave-taking. * Minotaurs: these bull-headed humanoids are expert trackers and tireless hunters. These ugly humanoids ape humans in their attempt to have "civilization," but they are evil and corrupt. * Giants: both True Giants (verbeeg, hill giants, stone giants, frost and fire giants) and giant humanoids (ogres, trolls, ettins, formorians) fall into this category. How about dinosaurs!?! And the area being a no-magic zone due to all the raw primal energies that exist there. Think Land of the Lost. This would make a cool barrier between UD and the surface. Let's put that SOZ content to use!

What I'd LOVE to see for the entrance to underdark is some type of Elven Checkpoint or guard area where there are elven warriors and such there to prevent entrance or exit of the Underdark somewhat like the underdark exit on Baldur's Gate 2 Shadows of Amn, I though that concept was pretty neat =o
Some elves for us to prove ourselves by killing would be pretty neat ^^

I've also died about four times in that period.

KK here is my 2 cents ... there are 3 old DnD modules and one players handbook .. all 2ed. that are pretty much FR bible on the UD ... Menzoberaznan (spelled wrong) ... Ruins of Undermountain 1 and 2 and the Drow Players handbook. Now while not updated for 3.5 obviously they do have alot of material you can draw from. Monsters ... layouts ... etc. you want a exceptional UD then i suggest you purchase (if you can) , beg, borrow, steal them and get your ambience there. .. again just my 2 cents.

This is about duergar if it applies. Racial abilities have saved me quite a few times, especially with the few beholders I've encountered. However,
I find it a bit odd that I can be swarmed by spiders(not phase), live and have my butt handed to me by two minotaurs at level 13. Maybe this was purposeful to keep folks from farming gold. I also made my character prior to having knowledge of knowing how ac works on this server. So my dex is max of +1 with full plate. Relying on dodge bonus from DD from here on out.
P.S. as far as creatures some folks forgot to mention Vampiric mind flayers and the the crazy derro.

One thing that I havent seen yet and woulld be nice is like if you are a drow to be able to fight some dwarves or gnomes. If you are a Gnome you could fight some Drow and Dwarves etc.. All we fight are monsters would be nice to fight some normal races too.

why not some elementals, dryders, lyconthrops, vampirice creatures, and draconic creatures.
