Reports of two more Fist members being cut down come rolling into the local barracks. Though this time the attacks were more bold than last reported. Ulfjar was seen being helped into the Fist Keep by a wizard after being cut down in the Farmlands. The wizard spoke of another companion that was with him, but only Ulfjar was cut down.
Corporal McBride later limped his way back into the keep after suffering much of the same fate as Ulfjar. Though this time a fellow elf escorting him said he too was attacked by this nameless assassin, though he was spared the killing blow.
Both accounts speak of a whisper voice on the winds, a voice that had to have belonged to a ghost. Witnesses say they have only seen a mere glimpse of the masked figure, but he always exits the same way, through a smoke bomb, leaving only a small silver dagger charm behind.

A tenday passes and the Cpl. is healed once again from the cowardly tactics of these, "shadow walkers". He has spent some time in the Temple writing up his report and time spent thinking on how to deal with such a growing problem and then goes through and reads the reports of Pvt. Ulfjar and Pvt. Belferon. He rolls up the parchment into a scroll and seals it with his wax and presses the emblem of Helm into the wax and makes his way to the Fist Keep. " Give this to Sgt. Crownsilver." he says as he hands the scroll to the sentry at the entry way to the Keep. Aiden then turns and makes his way back to the Temple of Helm..... Sgt. Crownsilver,
Much has taken place in the last couple of Tendays or so. I am sure that you have heard of the attack that I am blessed to have walked away from. Beyond this, there seems to be an organized effort against the Fist. I was ambushed once again along the Tradeway by the likes of shadowy figures using a bow. I chased him down only to find two more who sprang forth from the shadows as well in the Farmlands. They killed one of the Farmers. I killed two of the attackers and took one into custody. Unfortunately, that one escaped and we had to kill him as well to prevent him reporting anything. I was aided by the Elf, Daelthrien. We tried to speak with the attacker, but, he did not have much to say beyond some taunts.
Not long before the escape, Pvt. Ulfjar showed up to aid us. Well, myself, Pvt. Ulfjar, Daelthrien, and a wizard named Vale, came under attack along the Tradeway by the likes of Warrior women. They wield magicks as well as prayer. They were strong, but, we stood the victors and found nothing of importance in their possession. I know that you have already heard of the attack upon me, although, what you do not know is that the two sentries who stand guard there did not come to my aid at all! They have already been relieved of their duty at the Gate for now and have been given order to stay within the walls of the Keep. I do request that they stand a trial for their actions, or rather, their lack of action with regards to this assassin's attack. They have no excuse to stand their while one of their own gets laid out onto the ground at the Gates of the city! I was very fortunate that Daelthrien was there to fight this assassin while I bled out on the streets, barely alive.
Sgt., I know they have been struck with fear in their hearts due to these rumors and now they hear that their Corporal has been a dangerously close victim of this assassin, but, we need to bolster their confidence to stand guard and perform their duties in the face of danger through the use of larger numbers as well as some discipline and a sense of order that they sorely lack. Perhaps we need to speak with the Duke about providing us with more numbers out there on the Tradeway as well as in the streets and a place to provide better training to those who are new to the ranks. I will do what I can to aid in keeping the morale up during these darks times as well as instilling some discipline into their bodies.
This is all that I have to report at this time.
Cpl. Aiden McBride of the Flaming Fist / Apprentice of Helm

A letter written in formal script on vellum and sealed with wax is sent via a Weave Master attendant. ~~~~~ooo~~~~~ To whom it may concern,
It has come to my attention that your forces are under attack by some unknown assassin that can disappear into the shadows with ease. Although I have had negative run-ins with a couple of dwarves under your banner, I have come across a few soldiers of good repute with Cpl Aiden as one of them. Since you are charged with the defense of the surrounding lands, I offer my services as the Weave Master Exarch of Baldur's Gate. I have studied the Plane of Shadows with much care and understand its inner workings. If the assassin or assassins use the arcane or the normal, I will be able to sense them. I also know a few enchantments that can improve the senses of your soldiers twice or thrice fold. Let any of your soldiers know that I will provide these enchantments if they just but ask and may be willing to help travel the roads if they should become so perilous.
May the Weave protect you, Weave Exarch Nahum~~~~~ooo~~~~~

As Daelthrien promised Aiden McBride, The Rangers of Mielikki are now aware of the assassin's attacks and they will be watchful for any person fitting the description, or any word that may come to their knowledge.

OOC: DM ICE....I have drawn up what I believe will be a great addition to the Fist that will give a "standard" to all recruits and members. These standards encompass the rules that you and DevilDog have drawn up as well as some nice additions, but, in an RP manner for all to see once they are a member of the Faction. I will shoot you and DevilDog a PM with a copy of this to see what you think. This of course will only be posted here with approval from you......Enjoy! This is just the first installment. I have hopes to have a full blown Fist Manual of sorts......I just need some information on the color coded rank structure and basic uniform info as well....
*MODIFIED - The Third Section of the Fist Manual has been posted up....The First two Sections will be posted as soon as I can tweak them a bit.

a hastily written report is also on the desk
Report: Drow sighting From: Pvt. Ulfjar Thorkellsson To: CO
------------------------
- Drow sighted near the gate... I killed it

(OOC: New char made by new player... a shame I had to whack her to pieces. It appears some people just see the benefits for drow abilities and not the fact that they are not welcome into most societies.)

The young man enters into the Keep and is met by the Sentry. "Cpl. McBride. These have been left for you Sir." The young Corporal takes the notes and letters and gives the Sentry his thanks and then makes his way to the inner area where he can sit for a moment and read through them all.....He first read the letter from Nahum and nods in agreement and makes a note to send word to him of the appreciation of the Fist for his services and aid. Next he reads through Pvt. Ulfjar's reports and becomes a bit shocked at what he reads....... Report: Drow sighting From: Pvt. Ulfjar Thorkellsson To: CO ------------------------ - Drow sighted near the gate... I killed it --------------------------------------- "More stinking Drow in this area?", he says to himself as he sits there shaking his head in disbelief. The young man immediately pulls out some parchment and retrieves some ink and a quill.... Pvt. Ulfjar Thorkellsson, I am in receipt of your report in reference to the Drow near the Gate and your course of action against it. Let me be the first to tell you a job well done soldier! Your report will be forwarded to Sergeant Crownsilver as well as the rest of the Chain of Command to make it known your courage and dedication to this organization and your duties. We are all well aware of the dangers of that race and your actions aided the city and this region. Well done. Continue to perform your duties with pride and distinction and one day you will move into higher ranks soldier. May Helm continue to guide us and guard us all as we stand against the evil's that plague this region.....

Report and personal account of Pvt. Valldur Diam I thought that this information was deemed important enough that a report should be filed. While patrolling the Trade Way outside of Beregost I spied what looked for all of Fearun to be a mummy. I was able to, at once, turn the foul creature with a prayer to Tyr. I then cut the vile undead beast in two with several hacks from my great sword. Two others, a dwarf and one by name of Drake became acquainted at this time, having all dealt with this same type of beast. I was told that there were sightings as far north as the area of Candle keep and that the dwarf had destroyed those two creatures from the dark. While going over the night's events with one another, a vampire of some goblin decent attacked from across the bridge...we dispatched it without too much hardship. That is when some hell spawn lich beast materialized from thin air and right be for our eye's. The name of the dark one was given as Syrcassa Rammset...some infernal deathlord I thought. I asked this dead one why it attacked us with what it described as it's children. The answer to my question was to bring upon us all number of crazed undead foulness. We I believe to a man, or dwarf, were overcome by the dark host.... Tis by Tyr's will that we were returned to the bridge unharmed after the darklord had departed. I prayed and gave thanks again to Tyr the just and decided to head north to make this report. Who this Rammset is and what it is, and what it wants are weighing heavily on my mind. I will endeavor to see this plague on our land routed if Tyr wills it. I thank you for taking the time to read this report and hope that caution will be taken to address this situation. Pvt. Valldur Diam

Due to his actions in the defense of Beregost a few days ago, where he helped lead the troopers to victory along Aegies Feld, he has been promoted to Sergeant and is now the acting leader of the apotacary divsion in the field.
Lieutenant Ageis Feld has also been promoted to captain of the Beregost defenders and the Adventuering arm of the Flaming Fist.

Report by PVT. Valldur Diam
On a recent patrol through the south Trade Way I, near the ruined temple meet with a priest named Valturen( I believe was his name). We were discussing the many wolf attacks and the restlessness of those that dwell within the ruins. I thought that the undead still held sway there. I was told by the priest that a kobold host had taken over the ruin. He also had run into the daemon Rammset as I myself have. I am working at this time to determine how many sightings of the Daemon Rammset there have been and by whom. As I have my personal reasons as well as being a Fist member to look into this situation... I did enter the ruined temple only to find it crawling with kobolds. I made quick work of many of them but soon found myself overpowered by sheer numbers and made my way back to the surface. I will look further into cleansing the temple of the vile kobold host as well. If there should be a sworn order on this please let me know at first convenience, dear sir's. Pvt. Valldur Diam

The earthy priest makes his way to the Keep and gives a salute to the officer at the entranceway. He then enters the castle of the Fist and meets the sentry posted. The sentry gives a quick salute, "Sgt. McBride, these are for you sir." as he hands Aiden a couple of reports. The Sergeant returns his salute and gives him his thanks. The young man then turns about to return to his Temple and read over the reports..... Once inside the Temple of Helm, Aiden makes his way to where he can take a seat and read through the reports from Pvt. Diam. His face grows grim as he reads the news. "Another Lich, or is it the same one..." he whispers to himself as he pulls out some ink and parchment.
Pvt. Diam, We are in reciept of your reports. You are blessed indeed to have survived the meeting with such a foul and wicked thing as this. Your reports of the dead so near the small town of Beregost is grim news as well. First off, let me give you a job well done in the name of the Flaming Fist for your courage against the likes of those foul beings. It is indeed your faith that has kept you from harm thus far, never loose that. May your faith always be strong and true as a light in these dark times Pvt. Now, as for a standing order in reference to this 'Lich', there is none as of yet that I am aware of, but, do heed my words of caution when around such a foul thing. They are wicked. For now, report all news you have of the thing and do your best to wade through the rumors and the to consider the source of such knowledge. You have done your duties in a proffesional manner thus far Pvt., and I know that you will continue on in the good fight. I do know that the Church of Helm will be made aware of this news. On a side note Pvt., stay vigilant in the area North of Beregost. I am sure you are aware of the great battle that took place there and the well armed Goblins and Giants we battled. These are no ordinary Goblins and Giants. Should these be sighted, send word with all haste to your chain of command and the city of Baldur's Gate.
I know that there is an uneasy restlessness in this region and that we all battle these beasts on a regular basis. Remember always Pvt. that, your faith can guide you and guard you in all that you do in the name of right. You should be a beacon of light in these dark times for others to follow. May Helm guide us and guard us all as we stand against the likes of the evil that plagues these lands!
~Sgt. Aiden McBride

A battle weary and disconcerted Valldur stumbles into the barracks and takes a seat to the left of his cot. Not bothering to look around or make eye contact with the other Fist patrolman, he begins at once to remove his dented armor and bandage hie wounded left arm... Report of troubled Trade Way, by Valldur Diam. I did make patrol this afternoon south along the Trade Way. I, as always these days was com fronted with the savageness of the local wolf population. I dispatched a few and then did precede south. Upon enter the area of the temple of Bhaal that mares the surroundings I did approach two travelers speaking to each other along the trail. I was able to spy two gnools as they were planning an attack upon the unawares travelers. I dispatched them with aquickness and the introduced myself to the two men. I told these men that it be unwise to chat in this part of the country side, and they did heartily agree with that. Then we were attacked. An organized assault by no fewer that twenty gnolls rushed at us from all sides. With a prayer to the just one I did answer the on slaught and we did push them back. For a time. The as yet unknown fellows did then name themselves as Valture and Bram Weber. The first a priest, the other a monk I believe. We did band together as another wave of gnolls did try to take us by surprise. We overcame those few and rushed to the gate of their accursed temple where we did finish off the gnoll hoard. Then the orc came. A host of them, wave after wave of brigand orcs and casters as well. The two citizens fought bravely and with much merit and should hereby be recognized for there efforts. For we drove back all the orc host to the last one. We at this point in the battle were joined by a forth member, Morfiduil Python his name be. That is when the undead appeared unto me again. Ramset again stalks this land. Or a fellow of his, an avatar perhaps. A vile ,foul thing is he that roams this land. Two other persons who I cannot now name did come to our mutual support as a terrific battle ensued. Valturen after a time was crippled in the fight with the lich lord or whatever this creature actually be. I called upon all the powers that Tyr afford me to survive this exchange. The battle was fierce as waves of powerful undead spirits were called forth from the abyss. After a time of great struggle the lich was put down, I don't know by blade or by the mercy of Tyr! But we did survive this encounter as all were accounted for when the sun had finally risen. This be how I do come to the barracks in this state. I have removed my damaged armor and should need to commission a new set of plate as mine has served it's purpose well. I will now meditate at the temple a for I do rest this day. Try's justice strengthen us all...Pvt. Valldur Diam
