Sergeant Lucian Huss sits down heavily, rubbing his eyes he shuffles through the papers that lie upon his desk. The last few weeks had been hard ones. The road from Baldurs Gate to Waterdeep seemed endless. Shaking his head he still could not believe he had been assigned to escort duty with the current state of hostilities with the Iron Throne. Still he was a soldier, and an order was an order.
As he had suspected all hell broke loose while he was gone, reports of banditry....and whats this..an all out attack on the Red wizards? He had no love for Thayans...but even their ilk did not deserve to be cut down in cold blood. Corporal Crownsilver...missing? Damn, that simply won't do.
Two other missives catch his eye as well, E'Veleih and Hargas Hammerfist... damn recruitment officers... sluffers the whole lot of em. He'd have to make a point to send pages to each of the taverns to leave messages for those two, The Flaming Fist always needs new recruits. Thoughts of his missing friend run through his mind, Sergeant Huss leans back in his chair and runs his fingers through his hair, especially now.

To Duke Eltan and anyone else who might be havin a say in the fist.
Greetins to ya Duke. As you'd be guessin, I ain't one much fer writin letters an makin fancy with noble types so I'll get to me point.
I'd be askin ya to let me throw in with yer boys in the fist. I know yer citie's lookin on some hard times, what with the trade wars and all. A sturdy, skull crackin dwarf to bolster yer line is just what yer needin, to me thinkin.
I'm bettin yer wantin some credentials, so I'll be given em to ya whether yer askin er not. I'm not much fer talkin about me past, and how I came to the coast. Know that I've always been on the side o good though.
Bein in yer land fer a week I've been in a few fights for the right cause. Helm's temple asked fer me help with a few ghosties, people were droppin left and right, but ol' Harg saw it through and brought back the broken sword they were all worked up about. Been spendin some time kneecappin the overgrown ogres to the south, and bashin in some dogfaces along the southern trail.
So if yer lookin fer a good dwarf to bolster the cause just be lettin me know. Ye won't be regrettin it if ya do or I'll be a bearded gnome!

Hargriss Hammer Fist (Private) was inducted into the order after his aid in the recovery of a broken blade from the temple of Helm.
Corporal Crownsilver has been reported to be back on duty, patrolling the roads and aiding others. His accounts of being turned into a chicken by a drow were confirmed and hunting parties have been formed.

*the letter is accuratly written and paper has a strong smell of temple candles*
To the honorable Duke Eltan and Flaming Fist Guild.
Sorry for bothering you mylord, but still awaiting for the High Priest of Holy Order of Tyr to be initiated, i have a lot of free time hunging around the Baldur's Gate and nearby areas. My finances are coming to end, so i would like to make myself useful for Flaming Fist Guild.
I am an experienced cleric with the ability to cover six persons in invisibility, which will lasts the whole way from Palace District until Cloudpeak mountains, and also cover them in stoneskin, protecting from many monsters on the way. Also i was blessed by Tyr with the ability to resurrect.
I would be really glad for some answer from you or from Flaming Fist Guild about my request of joining that brave group. Usually i am in a Tyr's Temple.
Sincerely yours, Bjorl Barro, dwarf from Old Sekir clan.

Bjorl Barro is now a Flaming Fist Private. Jadeite Feyern also wanted to join, but because of class requirements to use the uniform, she is now only as an associated. She can be used as an informant of ilegal activities, since her presence without the uniform does not scare the criminals, and she can use her diplomatic skills to get information that a soldier could not.

A letter is sent to the Flaming Fist headquarters and given to the Postal Staff for proper routing to Bjorl's chain-of-command. ---------------------------------------------- To whom it may concern, I just arrived in Baldur's Gate a mere day ago and the farmer Jorn asked me to help him get rid of some wolves. As I crossed the bridge past the farmlands, I was stopped by one of your soldiers named Bjorl (((OOC: he was named by the Akraine))). He rudely interrogated me on the false basis of needing papers to travel the roads and threatened me with arrest for not giving my name. It is a name I would have freely given if it wasn't for the the brashness of your soldier. For all I knew, he could have been a bandit or brigand. I sincerely hope that this isn't the quality of soldier that you mean to have in your ranks. I am uncertain of his position in the Flaming Fists but I'm sure he over-stepped its bounds many times over. I hoped that you were more than mere mercenaries but I fear that I may be wrong. If this is truly the quality of men... or dwarves in your ranks, please inform me and I will notify the Dukes of their grave mistake. I considered the possibility of joining you to protect these lands but I will not have myself fighting side by side with such atrocities. Respectfully Submitted, Nahum ((edit: PS: I hope this doesn't translate as Bjorl's player harassing me. Bjorl just said all the wrong things and did all the wrong things to try to make things right. I had him roll a diplomacy roll too but didn't quite make it. I guess it proves that Bjorl definitely has the charm of a... well dwarf! ))

Private Bjorl Barro todays report ======================= Flaming Fist *************** day 1 ===== *One familiar to me bard told me about goblin in farmlands, whom he bravely killed. Poor scum must be lost and entered farmlands. *While first patrolling with coronal Justin we escorted one traveler to to Beregost. That old man decided to stay there so we went back. *Near Beregost bridge we encountered a group of adventures. One of them was hiding like a bloody thief, so that attracted my attention. He thought i cant see him, but i am cleric with a lot of tricks against such things. On my request to identify himself he tryied to escape. I was folowing him but one bloody goblin ruined my percuit. At last that elf returned normally and talked to us normally, hell knows why he tryied to escape from Flaming Fist patrol. *One fella Lamar told about his friend Drogo being pick pockeetp by Slith. That little bastard doesn't seat calmly after he was caught by me and beaten by Valldur. Think we will have to hang him one day. * Second time patrolling with corporal Justine we found old Bane's Temple and open grave with a lot of corpses of every race. Some of them already are skeletons, but some are fresh. We have to check in letters to us about missing people and how did they look and what were wearing at the moment when they disappear. Just before the day wnen i joined, i was in a group of adventurers who saved three people from orcs caves. They were kidnapped by orc band after attack on caravans. I am sure - Fists patrols must write down names of travelers that they meet in case someone will ask us to find someone who is missing. Having a name of traveler and note were he was last seen can make our hard job a bit easy and we can react quicker. *My first try to get a name from a passing by traveler failed. Bloody good manners are not for me, better our polite half-elf Valldur should do it. I don't have enough skill for that crap. That traveler was doubting me and my proud uniform, refused to answer simple question for no reason. I was really worried about that pal and even showed him an open grave near Bane Temple to look at other nameless and incognito arrived travelers. It doesn't concern him to tell me his name, but scared to butt and over. I escort him back out of Cloakwood and he said me good bye and went to Beregost on its own. *Still worried for that scared butthead nameless hero i went to Beregost myself to check things. Not far from Beregost bridge i mat Nicotino and Calibus. Calibus told me an awesome story how he and his friends defeated a black dragon deeper in the abandoned by bugbears mines. Aye, nameless fellow was talking to Nicotino and Calibus before i come closer, then he left as saw me. * I encountered Nameless on my way back to Baldur's Gate near bandits caves. I was too tired to scare those useless scums which are hiding there in great fear, so i buffed mister Nameless to the butt and over, using all my cleric abilities. Nameless was glad and frightened at the same time, got no idea why that human thinks that with every my move or casting spell i gonna kill him. When i finished my new friend went to the cave to scare hooligans. Hope he didn't pee his trousers while i was buffing him in stonescin! And i went to Blade and Star Inn to have some rest. Glory to Flaming Fist! Scums - dig your graves - we coming! End of report.

The cool winds blow through his long, red hair as he makes his way from Helm's Temple to the City Gate. The sun was setting into the horizon and his armor seemed to almost have a glow about it. He had spent many hours polishing his armor and his sword, preparing for this night. Aiden has not been with the organization very long at all, but, he already has a strong sense of duty. He follows the very same ideas that the Flaming Fist uphold. Loyalty, Duty, Respect, Honor and Guardianship of the beautiful city of Baldur's Gate and the Tradeway South of the city to Nashkel. Aiden has learned that, this organization has a long history with this City and her people, a history of respect, and Aiden was not going to be the one to tarnish the fine history and relationship it had with this city. Only a few minutes pass by and Aiden finds himself in front of Lt. Aegis Feld at the gate. The Lt. seemed busy with other things and Aiden did not wish to bother him, but, he needed to check in with the Lt. to let him know that he was about to take post for the first time. He saluted the officer of higher rank than himself, " Sir, Pvt. McBride reporting in for duty Sir!" . Several other Fist members in those blazing red uniforms, polished to a gleam, were about the gate as well. Seemed that change over for the post was just getting started..... The Lt. looked to Aiden and returned his salute, " Guard Tower Pvt., from dusk till dawn.." and then returned to his other workings at the gate. Aiden relieved his salute, " Yes Sir!." and took one step back and turned about to stand his post for the night.... The door to the tower was heavy and old. It had seen many battles in it's time at this gate as well as many soldiers and guards passing through it's threshold and Aiden was another to pass through this night. He made his was up the spiral of stairs and came to the top of the tower. The view was amazing as the sun lazily set itself into the horizon. He could see all the way across old man Jorn's farm lands and up through the city nearly to the Temple of Helm! He was amazed at how different it all looked from up here. The sun eventually set and the light of day was vanquished by the fall of night. The sky was clear, fortunately, and the moon was full. Aiden propped up his shield on the wall near one of the arrow slits and put on his helmet and pulled his bow off of his back and begin to pace.... Time seemed to pass slowly for the young man. His eyes darted back and forth across the streets below and out across the fields as he kept watch and stayed ever vigilant in his duty. He took a deep breath as he stopped to look out across the fields and slowly nodded. " Thank you Helm, for it is because of you that I stand here this day in protection of this city. I have found purpose beyond myself. I pray that being a part of this organization is in accord with your will and preachings." and with that, Aiden looks to the sky and smiles. He then returns to his watch through the night. Nothing out of the ordinary took place and the city slept quietly this eve. The sun soon began to peek it's head up from the horizon once again and Aiden squinted his eyes just a bit, but, was happy to see the light. It did not take long before another soldier arrived to take Aiden's place on his post and relieve him of his duty. Aiden put his bow back upon his back and he hefted his shield and made his way back down those stairs. He reported to the Lt. again, " Sir, Pvt. Mcbride has been properly relieved of his post Sir. Request permission to take my leave Sir!" the Lt. looks to Aiden, returns his salute, " Very well, carry on Pvt." and relieves his salute. Aiden follows suit and takes his step back, turns about, and returns to the Temple for some much needed rest.......

*a note left in Flaming Fists castle, on the table in room on second floor, where Bjorl Barro was locked and put under arrest by corporal Justin Crownsilver*
Bjorl's Barro report on failure of the arrest of Ryokami ====================================== Report to all superior officers. Yesterday's evening i was patrolling Cloakwood in case some of the good citizens got lost in that bloody forest. I went really deep in to the Cloackwood, to the old manor, surrounded by treants. Using my abilities i was not noticed by any monsters, whose hordes are living there. Before joining Fist i spent a lot of time chopping those treants to increase my fighting skills, but only once stepped in to the manor. That last time i had to run from there, this bloody house spawns undead warrior skeletons some how, and they are really tough bastards to stay against. But i saw some brave adventurers going in there and heard a battle sounds from manor. I saw Ryokami many times going in there and successfully returns.
Standing before that deadly manor, wearing Flaming Fist armor, i decided to explore that horrifying house and find out what is the cause of skeleton spawns. Under invisibility i have made my way to the last third floor of manor and found there three Nightwalkers, horrible creatures of not alive world. "For Glory of Flaming Fist!" - shouted i and defeated them and barely made my way back outside the manor. I made a camp and spent the whole night healing myself and thinking about tactics how to defeat skeletons on first and second floor. I was completely sure that after i defeated Nightwalkers - spawns of skeletons will end. I had to crush all skeletons, because without orders from Nightwalkers those skeletons can leave manor and hordes of them can appear near Baldur's Gate and that will be fatal for most adventurers and citizens. And i cold not leave the area of manor and ask for help our guys. I had to watch that no one skeleton warrior will leave manor. I even didn't get any rest and sleep.
The whole morning and day i was fighting those undead scums, hoping that i will eventually crash everyone of them. Three times i was close to death, i crashed 120 skeletons on my own, i count them. Eventually i understood that spawns are not finished and someone very powerful still controls that undead army and gives them order not to leave manor. So i went back to the trade way. I stopped near old Bhaal's Temple, to close the gates in to that evil shrine and at that moment i saw corporal Justine.
I was not at the town for two days, so i didn't see any posters about bounty on Ryokami's head and from corporal i didn't get the complete answer on what is going on and what happen. And i was too exhausted as well. Shortly civilian Pandoriah came to us. She warned corporal about Ryokami being an extraordinary dangerous fighter and mage and that she saw him near Bane's Temple. I as well warned corporal that Ryo is a tough nut, that i saw him entering manor many times and thati am sure that some sort of misunderstanding, cause i know Ryo, and know that he is smart and mighty and will never go killing without enough cause. And that he could hire any assasasin to kill someone and not do it with his own hands. I suggested negotiations with Ryokami, as i knew fella. Anyway i was ordered by corporal to follow him to the Bane's Temple. And civilian Pandoriah was taken by corporal with us, and not asked to leave the operation to Flaming Fists. Even private Valldur was not taken out of patrolling to accompany us.
While we entered orc's territory i suggested to cast invisibility on corporal, in case we have to scout area first. But corporal refused, so i hide Pandoriah and myself. Corporal made his way threw the forest killing every orc that he saw. The sounds of fight and orc screams were heard all over Sharp Tooth. I warned corporal that i am very tired, because was fighting skeletons for two days and said sorry that i am not helping him in orc slashing. I was a bit surprised that corporal alerting everyone in that territory, but then thought that it is part of his plan. Eventually we saw Ryokami standing at the gates of Bane Temple. That strange, but i wasn't given any orders about what to do in case Ryokami will not go with us peacefully. Well, i put everything in hands of corporal as a superior officer.
Corporal went to Ryokami without any words to me and was glancing at Bane's priest as on bloody kobold that can be killed with simple snoring. At that moment Pandoriah joined us. I saw Ryokami is furious, in great anger and to calm him down i started negotiations. It was really needed to be done, because the civilian Pandoriah was standing right near us and her life was in great risk, Which is not supposed to be taken by civilians in Flaming Fist operation. As Ryokami saw us he made some prays to his evil god and aura of defense covered him. While keep on talking to Ryokami we heard his confession that he murdered, and that his parents were murdered a long time ago by Fists. At that moment corporal told that Ryokami is under arrest by Duke's name. Don't know what provoked Ryokami to attack us. But none of us was prepared for that. It took a few second for Ryo to knock down corporal, then he smite Pandoriah few times, while i was throwing my spells in him, and she fall down. I was the last one, but didn't stay long. Ryokami escaped. In a few minutes we all raise on oiur feet, bur corporal was heavily bleeding and fall down again. Pandoriah was more angry then beaten and she left us. I was notinjured to heavy as well, only explanation is that Ryo remembered me threw his insanity and his main aim was corporal, presenting the same officers that, how is said by Ryo, but absolutely doubt by me, killed Ryo's parents. I healed corporal as i can, but heard from his nothing but rude words in my adress and ocusation that i am a disgrace to all Fists, have no right to wear uniform and all that. I was upset and suprised, it was like i was a corporal and failure of the arrest is my fault and not commanding officer.
We together managed to get out of the forest. Luckily corporal hasn't refuse my invisibility spell that time. While we reached farmlands corporal fall down in the middle of the crowd and luckily for him private Valldur happened to be there at that time. He stopped corporals bleeding. And accusations to me for failure of the arrest and that i an a disgrace were heard by me once more time. Eventually i looked around, to make sure no one listening to us, and called corporal an idiot, which i deeply regret, fella Justin must be smited in a head by Ryokami too hard. Anyway corporal put me under arrest and escort to Flaming Fist's castle for further judgment.
I pray Tyr for all our friends in patrols all over Coast, hope Ryokami will not try to kill them all, being on run after corporal scared him from the Bane's temple. Also i want to add - i would think that corporal is a real man of honor, if he was too brave to wait until night and then went to the town. But he didn't. He was walking at day light among crowds of citizens, beaten as a kid, showing everyone that Fists fail. Then was laying on a road as beggar. So who of us is a disgrace - a big question. I took down on my own evil priest of Talos, so i don't like questioning my skills and abilities.
Here are some points why in my opinion arrest failed:
1. Ignoring the threat that criminal presents. 2. Involving civilian in to Flaming Fist operation. 3. Not taking for a dungerous arrest all possible forces of Flaming Fists. 4. Not having any plan of the arrest. 5. Not giving any orders for preparing to the arrest 6. Alerting all area with our approach 7. Thinking that all criminals will fall on their kneels just seeing Flaming Fist officer. 8. Exhausted cleric in a group 9. Having no professional Fist capable of negotiations 10. Having no one in ambush in case criminal will manage to escape

Bjorl:
Sitting in you nice humid cosy cell, you hear a recognisable chitter, but you cannot see where is it coming from. It's not an ordinary spider who you can't see that brings you a nail file and a note saying:
It's all I could do, so far... If you need something speak to the messenger and I'll try to arrange it.
You know now who the messenger is for certain.

*To Corporal Crownsilver*
Corporal, you are very brave and loyal, but you need to be more wise. A well known criminal and a dangerous man, should not be engaged without proper backup. The bounty on his head is large for a reason. He is too strong to be taken in alone and he will not comply to your authority. Next time, call upon a larger force to take him in. You have others here to support you. About Private Barro, you are his superior officer, and he must do as you order. He will be punished for his insubordination, rest assured. For now, he will resume his patrols due the our recent lost of privates. But his authority as a Fist has been reduced to the Farmlands and inside the city. A punishment is being discussed and soon we will apply it. Any further insubordination you report us will end with his expulsion.

The Flaming Fist Road Wardens TO: Lieutenant Yulimtul FROM: Corporal Justin Crownsilver
Lieutenant Yulimtul,
I had asked Private Bjorl Barro, to accompany me while searching for the foul priest Ryokami, whom which Private Barro has been known to associate with before his joining the Fist. As you may already know Ryokami is wanted for murder, and I thought better the Fist bring this villain to justice then some glory seeking adventure. This was also a fine chance for me to observe Barro’s actions while in the field. Since you've ordered that he is to be placed under my wing.
During the course of our investigation we were able to track Ryokami to an evil temple, deep within the orc infested Woods of Sharp Teeth. However, Pvt. Barro had become quite bothersome while searching, constantly protesting the priest’s innocence not once believing his dear friend capable of such a crime. Seeing Ryokami standing there in front of the unholy structure whose stain glass windows gave homage to the dark god Bane, did little to change the stubborn dwarf's mind. Even with the knowledge that a mass grave site was but a few small steps from where his friend stood or more troubling the evil banite began to chant upon our arrival , calling on his dark god’s blessing. Pvt. Barro still believed his friend to be innocent. Acting accordingly with my sword already drawn I informed the priest of his crimes, which he confessed with a wicked grin. Knowing already what was to come next I placed my faith in Pvt. Barro’s own priestly magic and that of his god Tyr to protect us from this foe. However, Barro continued to claim that Ryokami perhaps wasn’t quite right in the head. Dropping his guard, by allowing his personal feelings to cloud his judgment, interfering with his duty. A grave mistake that Ryokami used to best the both of us, by the gods above it all happened so fast I couldn’t land a blow! Shortly after that I was left the on ground bleeding to death and only by the grace of Torm do I still breathe. I know not what happen after that or why I’m still alive. I doubt Pvt. Barro had anything to do with it, for he too was stuck down by his friend in much the same manner. ((OOC… he just didn’t rp it out properly. For someone that is always bitching about what to do after PVP encounter he sure did just walk it off like it was nothing.))
The journey back to Baldur’s Gate was writhe with in subornation, I was losing blood fast and felt quite sick and couldn’t stand to listen to this cocky dwarf dare accuse me as to why Ryokami was allowed to escape. As I collapsed in front of the gates to the city, I order Pvt. Barro suspended until a formal hearing could be held. It was a field decision one that I was well within my right to make. Pvt. Barro after hearing this laughed it off calling me an idiot, disobeying a direct order, claiming that it is I who should be punished not him. If I’m allowed to defend myself, what is it I did wrong? Pvt. Barro needs to be taught the error of his ways before he be allowed to take up arms in the duke's name. In fact if I may sir, I believe the drill master needs to have a go with most of the new recruits. Their prior experience leads them to believe they are better than those who command them, which only breeds troubling malcontents like Pvt. Barro. Now while it gives me no pleasure to report this sir, I believe Pvt. Barro has brought dishonor to the Fist. For one who worships The just god Tyr, his association with a murdering dark priest of Bane is quite alarming which shouldn’t be ignored. Nor should his inability to follow orders given to him by his chain of command, who is he to question the Fist? Ryokami is a wanted murderer and should be dealt with accordingly. I once thought Barro while quite brash would make a find addition to our organization as a better soldier than peace keeper. However, unfortunately the Flaming Fist are one in the same, and I fear your suspicions are correct sir. Pvt. Barro is far too brutish and uses what little authority he has to further alienate the good people of the land. This only causes more distrust towards the Fist and M'lord Duke Eltan as well.
Of course I await to hear from you regarding this matter, I now leave it in your hands Lieutenant Yulimtul. Glory to the Fist!
