I'm happy to report that I have represented tha Weave Masters while workin to save Lady Doloran from tha hands of some bandits Lead by a Half-Orc named Saldra. I'm also happy to report that Lady Doloran is safe and sound, I made sure Lord Doloran knew that Tha Masters were involved in such a rescue.
Durin this endeavour I colaborated with tha Fist, I hope that this colaboration strenghthened our relationship.

///Sorry for being MIA for the past couple of weeks. Someone cast a Greater Planar Binding spell on me and I've been stuck in the Real Life plane. As a Marine, the tempo at work has picked up again so I obviously need to prioritize that. I've also focusing on church and God a bit more so that takes priority as well. Finally, I don't think my wife would appreciate me spending what free time I have left in front of the computer --- I don't feel like snuggling up to my computer at night. Anyway, I'll try to put some time in this week. Things are still kinda busy but hopefully Mord's Disjunction can dispel the binding spell --- even if just temporarily. :/

I've been wondering about the donations section of guild reputation. I've given many scrolls to my primary in the past but have yet to donate gear to the guild. I personally feel that this is because that there is no accounting for the base value of the item in question. That is to say a Ring of Protection +3 would be worth the same as a set of Full Plate +3 in the system whereas barring enchantments on averages a set of plate armor is far more valuable than a ring. Likewise 1st-level scrolls that I can sell for only 8 gold at a shop are worth 25 rep points but even non-magical armor which is worth much more to sell has no value to donate. This could easily be rectified for armor by adding something like: +(50 rep for every 1 Base AC) which would directly reflect the value of the armor. I also think that the first line +(100 rep for every +1 attribute or magical enhancement) should be broken into two lines such as +(100 rep for every +1 magical enhancement) and +(200 rep for every +1 attribute enhancement). Ability enchanted items are much more rare in my experience and much more valuable to a character to keep.

I think this point system was originally designed to give incentives to people for helping their fellow guildmembers. You're right in the fact that it gives no incentive for base value, but I think the object was to have every item donated improve another members gear in some way. I personally have always had trouble between donating gear and selling it for personal gold. Unless someone that I knew could use the gear. Remember that the rep system was designed so that it would take quite a long time to reach the upper tiers. I would like some response from the others on this though as well. Do you think the donation section could use some tweaks and fine tuning?

I'd have to start donating everything I find and doing a IC post every hour to reach the upper tiers. Looking at the members list and the rankings, it does seem much easier to advance as a Weave Master than as a Weave Scout or Guardian. I've been thought about more than just the repustation system for donations since that initial thought. Perhaps we could get a persistent chest in the private area of the tower for item donations? Of course then how would you track it? It would be really cool if we could sign in and out stuff, but that probably would require some scripter's assistance. Maybe a "quick fix" would be for someone to have a NPC quartermaster sort who never leaves the tower? How is stuff currently stored if a member is not using it? Who do I donate stuff to by the way?

I think once persistent storage hits things will change. You know, the quartermaster idea is not all that bad really, but couldn't be put into effect until after storage is set up. I would like to see it be an active guardian as quartermaster if we do such a thing. I'd like to see them have the decision to sell the item for our funds, or keep it for upgrading our members. All donations could be given to that person as well. The ability to have one person making those decisions would increase our resources vastly, and give us gold from useless items to spend upgrading our members with what they need.
Right now donation can be given to Elias, William, Lyra, Nahum, or directly to someone who needs it. I'll talk with the others in the council and see how they feel about the rep system for item donation.

Thinking more about the QM idea-- perhaps a keyed chest in the private area of the tower that the QM would have the key for? This way no one would be weighed down holding gear in their inventory. Only issue I see is timezones and availability of the QM. Could probably manage fine with PMs as needed if there is time conflicts, or else maybe have two QM whose players live on opposite sides of the globe?

Okay, there has been a slight modification to the Weave Guardian reputation point system.
Before, your BAB would be multiplied by 200. A level 15 fighter would probably have a BAB of level 15, for example.
It has now been changed to make it easier for Guardians to advance.
Now, Guardians can take their total attack bonus. That would be your BAB, plus the total of of whatever modifiers you'd get from using your preferred weapon. For example, if you had a BAB of 15, but when using a longsword you'd get that boosted up to 18 (due to weapon proficiency feats and weapon bonuses), you could now use the 18.
However, bonuses that one gets with buffs are not allowed. So, using the example above... if your actual total is 18, but with arcane or divine or potion based enchantments it goes up to 20, you can't use that 20. You'd have to stick with the 18 that is supplied through feat and weapon bonuses. Make sense? ;D
