Loseing xp when you crash is normal it usually means your character wasnt saved anytime recently, or i it was the server just didnt remember that it saved.
As for dieing when theres lots of lag to powerful monsters? If its laggy, dont expose yourself to unneciary risks.
I dont mean to sound cold hearted but if you want to be a tough guy and hunt powerful mobs in outrageous lag then you get everything that comes with such a combination or elements and I mean you get EVERYTHING.

I was fightting at level 15 after not leveling and lost more xp then you would ever know (that would be about another level and a half) on crash. I amost cried, and then got out the spirits and well.... I do not want to talk about that.
What is worse, is the time I accedently bought a 13000gp sword that I did not want; I was tramatised for days. On a time level that is worse than loosing a mass of xp.

Ive had a problem with the trans system, i used a trans in the Cloackwood, and ended up in the Fuge plain with no record of me recieving damage in my action log, Not to much of a problem with the respawn, Just i couldnt move when i ended up in the Fuge plain

Loseing xp when you crash is normal it usually means your character wasnt saved anytime recently, or i it was the server just didnt remember that it saved. Server crashes do cause loss of xp. Over the course of about three crashes, I have probably lost around 10,000xp. It is annoying but has no relation whatsoever to the 5% penalty for dying. I braved the manor during laggy periods last night and got away with 17,000xp! HAHAHAHAHA! Death was very close on three occasions but that toughness feat pulled me out of it's jaws.

Proportional to something I don't know what.... maybe the fact that the server did not save the character... But what about everyone else? I believe this happens only to a single character at time...
