I haven't seen any specific crafting mod on the server yet. Am I missing it or is the server going to use the basic crafting nwn2 offers?

So far no items for crafting have been added as far as I know. Although I've seen workbenches around.

Workbenches are around, yes, though for the time being they are for show. As of right now we have no crafting system, nor do we know the direction we want to take with it. We could go the custom route or we could take something from the vault, or stick with the default. We currently do not have crafting components really enabled in the loot drops either. -Ice

Ok I feel as if I should put some ideas out there...
- Enchantments on weapon would consider a Alchemy score and typically a mage or a scroll to cast the spell on the weapon via a typical fire damage would be like 50 lesser fire essences, 25 lesser earth essence and flame arrow or whatever the lowest fire spell a mage has. this would include putting the essences and the weapon inside the bench and casting the spell onto the weapon to create the enchantment. Normal enchantments start out 1d4.. then 1d6 then 1d8 and maybe only one per weapon or maybe even two. it would include, lesser = 1d4, regular = 1d6, greater = 1d8. Though increase the spell level as well say flame arrow, ignite, fireburst or something.
- Books or Scrolls that drop from creatures to show a player what components she/he needs to craft whatever item it is.
- Essences = To create potions / healing kits
- Wood and Ore = Depending on the grade or type of wood / ore it will make the type of weapon, armor, shield, bow, xbow.
- Most any material can be smashed with a mortar and pestle to create Lesser Essences (depending on what item via; wolf tooth, goblin ear, bats wing etc etc) and the grade, Say you kill a wolf and get its pelt smash it up with a Mortar and Pestle and you get a lesser essence of whatever was scripted.. there is a chance on getting say for example 10% fire 35% water and 55% earth lesser essence, this includes have the skill craft alchemy. But say you kill a colossal red dragon and you get Great Dragon Tooth or whatever, 65% Fire 20% Earth 15% death Greater essence.
- Blank scrolls and empty bottles of course allow you to make scroll and potions, this include Alchemy level, though scrolls just require scribe scroll.
- Items such as wood or ore could either be a drop from certain mobs or create some sort of script to where you can search for it in caverns for ore and abandoned buildings for wood. and searching would be used with Survival skill.
- All of these have a DC and which cases you need the crafting skills in order to create, and the feats if you want to create greater weapons or armor.
- Now of course this seems like it would create more of a hassle for the DMs but overall it would round the server more and create a variety of things to do, I do believe I was informed there was crafting going to be involved just these are my ideas on how it could be setup, I believe I was telling Ice all this when I first joined on this server in beta 1
Most of this would include not having a great amount of items on the server and just having the people earn them through their deities or crafting so that there is a better rp since in the game instead of just grinding out cash and spending 50k on an item and calling themself godly because they have enchants on it as well.

I mean, It´s already there and you don´t go reinventing the wheel, and there´s probably something better than the default one.

Oh lords please do not use any of the Craftable Resources or custom crafting rules???!!!
I like using the default crafting feats/skills rules; as imperfect as they are, they come closest to PNP rules on magical crafting.
I don't want to have to become an expert woodchopper/miner/weaver/what-@#$-ever in order to be a good spellcrafting enchanter. Those CNR rules blow chunks and just turn the server into a resource grindfest that would make the wolf pelt hunts look like social picnics. PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE don't go that route, I beg you!

lol I side with Ming on that one. If we are to use the custom crafting for the love of all that is good, dont use any of the crap NWN1 did. You would have to make it an actual job just to craft... wood chopping, tanner, armor smith, and forager just to make simple leather armor.. *shivers* None of that. -Ice

We need something reasonable for those of us that have +12 and up for crafting skills. At this point, we should not need to visit a merchant for anything other than the most of basics.

Well I just accidentally bought the crude blade +1 from the Thunderstone. $h1+ ! Sold it back for like 1500 spent like 12000. Do you know how many wolves this cost me? Back to hunting pelts.
It would be nice to have items crafted.
Edit: We need an online catalog of sold wares where everyone can see them. I thought I knew what I wanted beforehand. Thus, three hasty clicks cost countless hours.

LOFU$%INGL It was just a push out there just to see if you all are going to put crafting out... It would be a lot better than waiting for the "Red Wizards" to come and show us the wares...
