Does the character continue to exist serverside for a set amount of time after log out? I exited the game earlier today with 50% hp and no enemies near me. When I logged back in later, I was in the fugue plane. Is this lag-related or something else?

that would be something else. your character persists in a different sense such as spell buffs.. say you crash or log out with a spell active on you. Within a certain amount of time if you log back on the spell will still be active.
However I have never had anything like what you describe happen. Though if you had a HP altering affect on you (temporary HP) then when you logged back on the spell would of vanished after a time and you would of been dead. That is the only explainable reason I can think of,though glitches do happen. -Ice

i have another reason it could happen, unfortunately. i've noticed that when you log out, it logs you back into where you were when your character was last saved. if you happened to be in the fugue plane when it saved, and crashed or logged out before another save, you'd come back in where you last saved. aka, the fugue plane. perhaps something can be added to the respawn script that saves your character as soon as you respawn would eliminate this.

That was probably it then, Lorgin. I had already died once before I logged.
