Hello to All,
First I'd like to thank the development team for all the hard work and expert skill that has gone into building and running this server, it really shows in the product.
For those who have not read my greeting under the introductions thread; My name is Marc and Ive been playing PnP for 29 years (most of which have been Forgotten Realms campaigns). Recently (2001-2005) Ive played NWN1 as a DM and player (under the player name mdwagner) on a server called Lands of Faerun. Most recently Ive been playing NWN2 on the role play channel. I've been playing at Baldur's Gate for only slightly over a month with a Dwarf named Durntog Kaz-Dangt, and am enjoying this place immensely.
Of late, I have been petitioning the staff for a spot on the DM team and thought I should post here to inform players and DM's who are not familiar with me yet my philosophy toward NWN2. Also, I would like this post to serve as my official application for a DM slot.
My first priority is to referee scenarios that players enjoy. Priority 2 is to have as much fun as I can while providing quality product for the players. And my third priority is to assist the DM team in other areas not related to running adventures, such as assisting new players. In pursuit of all of these objectives I strive to behave in an amiable and professional manner, promote the server, and not to deviate from the norms of staff and player conduct put forth by the development team.
If permitted to serve as a DM I will do my utmost to contribute to the server and support it as the number one destination for discerning players on the role play channel.

Well from what I tested him on RP (during a very buggy, laggy, and unstable DM Client night) he was good to go onto the next tests or Lore and PC interaction (whether or not people will respond nicely to him)
He gets my stamp to move onto the next things, think Wiz was goin to interact with him as his PC the same night I quit because of lag during an event, dont know if he did or not though. -Ice

Let me know when you guys get him set up and I will add his new title and set him up in the DM section.
BTW we would still like to add more DMs. If you have DM experience and are good with FR lore, please sign up here.

I hope i will see Durntog Kaz-Dangt as well as a new DM, Bjorl was just about to get really drunked with Torm's cleric in The Blade and Stars. Aye, and i hope that one grandpa DM will take another grandpa player (i am 34 :-)) in Tyr's Temple officially AT LAST!!!!! ;-))))))
Bottom line: Gratz mdwagner!!
ps i can only dream to become a DM, because of language barrier i can be only goblin's dungeon master ;D

Well this made my life easier than I expected. I was speaking to my friend while playing and I said "Wouldn't it be great if I could apply to be a DM here?"and here's a topic waiting for me.
As you can guess my name is Nick and I have been playing RP for 11 years (doesn't seem long compared to some others). Although my primary roleplay isn't DnD when it comes to RP I have been playing the Bioware DnD simulators since Baldur's Gate 1.
I haven't had any experience using the DM client because I've only ever played two servers in my NWN history (so good I never had to change ;D). But I am willing to learn.
What would I bring to the mod as a DM?
Interesting stories, which will grip our fellow players and want them to play more. Not only will this help me as a roleplayer but it will also help my future career. As a film-maker I love stories and as an inspiring screenwriter this would give me opportunities to improve my story-telling. I would like to run events as regularly as possible. I'd be willing to help players with questions and in-game problems if I can solve them.
As for my knowledge of Forgotten Realms lore... well its so-so. I've played BG1, BG2, NWN, NWN2, IWD1, IWD2. When it comes to literature I've only read half a dozen Drizzt Do'Urden novels a few years back. Apart from that I can't say I know much more. Although the Salvatore novels cover quite a few locations along the Coast I think I would be able to craft some good stories out of what I know.
I hope you consider me and I can contribute to a growing community.

Nick stick around for a bit, and over time the other DM's will voice their opinions on you, and whether or not you would be a good addition. If we like what we see, then you could find your self in the hot seat. -Ice

I would like to take a shot at this. I like it when a random civilian suddenly begins talking to my PC. Since most of the DMs are occupied with the larger events and stuff, I would be willing to do random small encounters with the commoners (for starters). Pluses: 1. An overactive imagination that cannot be caged with a couple of characters. I need (and can do) characters ad infinitum! 2. A completely role-playing aspect. I am here solely for role-playing, so doing something like this is up my alley (sometimes my character won't even make 500xp in 5 hours). 3. I enjoy making things for others to do as much (or more so) as I enjoy participating in them. 4. I already spend a good deal of time on the server. Time is no problem. 5. I tend to learn fast. 6. Prior experience in an administration role. I realize this isn't the same, but it's still an upper position. ;D Minuses: 1. My lore is somewhat lacking, to say the least. I only know a little from the Baldur's Gate series plus a few odds and ends I've picked up here and there. 2. Unfamiliarity with the toolset. (but I can learn!) 3. .... Hmm, it isn't good to list too many minuses.... Thanks! Carnifex

I'd like to help in some way; even if it means helping co-ordinate DM events or just being in the background to add a bit of atmosphere. I've never been a DM or builder so I would be pretty dead in the water with responsability like that but any sneaky plotting or winding up staff events and I'd be happy to help out!
