While we are still a ways off from launching, potential Dungeon Masters can sign in here if they wish to be up and running for the go live. Dungeon Masters must be 18 years or older, creative, and fair.
We can talk more about what it expected during the interview, but feel free to post any questions you may have here.

I would love to be a DM in this awesome world you guys are making. I'll admit i dont have a lot of experience, but im a quick learner and very creative. If there's anything i can read to become more prepared, or something similiar let me know. I've been reading the lore threads posted on here. So even if you wouldn't want me as a DM, anything you could think of so i can become more educated on the subject would be awesome.

Hey guys, there is a document that I have on how to run a plot as a DM, how to take lore from the Forgotten Realms and apply it, rules as a DM, how to handle tricky situations etc. I think there also might be a tutorial using the NWN2 DM Client. I'll have a browse for them and give you a shout. Most of being a DM is hands on experience, so it will improve as you continue. Most of what we are looking for in DM's is detailed in the thread linked below. Although Roleplaying abilities are not completely essential it will stand you in good stead as it does require that skill to drive a story further through the plot www.theswordcoast.proboards89.com/index.cgi?board=generalissues&action=display&thread=49

Greetings, I stumbled across the site after following a link from the bioware forums. The screenshots look absolutely fantastic, and since the Sword Coast and Forgotten Realms had always been my favorite area and world, I decided to give this server a try, and perhaps even sign up as a DM. A little about me...
I am an avid fan of D&D since around junior high or so. I DM'ed my own campaign for some close friends and cousins for about 12 years, we had many good times until adolescence took the better of us and we had to concentrate on school/work. I then went on to play crpgs such as: Might and Magic, Lands of Lore, The Elder Scrolls, Icewind Dale, Baldur's Gate, and Baldur's Gate II. Up to date, BG II has been my favorite single player rpg ever (I completed the game about 2 or 3 times). In my spare time I also have read hundreds of forgotten realms, dragonlance, and ravenloft novels. My favorite authors include Ed Greenwood, PN Elrod, Margaret Weiss, Tracy Hickman, Elaine Cunningham, and RA Salvatore. Due to these novels, I am very familiar and fluent with Realmslore - in particular with characters like Elminster, The Symbul, Khelben Blackstaff, and my favorite of all time - Drizzt Do' Urden.
I have also played NWN 1 since the first day of release, and managed to DM on a small server for about 2 years before the owner had to terminate the server due to RL issues. Since then, I played on numerous PW's including Shadows of the Sword Coast, Amia, Arelith, Prisoners of the Mist, Dragon Coast, and many others.
Then, finally NWN 2 came out and I bought that the first day as well. I managed to make use of the toolset and the DM Client, as I DMed for a while on a server called Midgard Saga, but left because the server eventually degenerated. Unlike the toolset, the DM Client is much easier to use and understand, which is much to my delight. Since then, I hopped from PW to PW trying different settings, but I could never come to play on a server if it were not the FR setting, because it has ingrained into my blood. I was surprised and delighted to see this server, which reminds me so much of the Baldur's Gate II setting, and at first I wanted to just be a player but I decided why not, might as well apply to be a DM, as I kind of got boring of the entire charade of creating a character and advancing him in level and loot.
So if I were accepted into the DM team, I would dedicate my time to running quests and plotlines for players, both big and small, and do my best to entertain everyone. I generally like to focus on new players, as they are the heart and soul of a growing and expanding PW. I will not be elitistic and give attention only to the rp veterans. I will be fair to all players - veterans and newbies alike. In closing, thanks for the opportunity to play on a server based on a region that is near and dear to me, even if I were not accepted as a DM, I will still be a player here because frankly, there are no other good FR servers for NWN 2 out there currently.

Thanks Sojourn and everyone who has posted. We will hopefully be able to start focusing on you guys in a week, maybe two. DMs will be a big part of our world, and having a good background in FR lore is awesome. We plan on using a lot of famous and not so famous NPCs as well as incorporating the novels that visit the Sword Coast.

We will need more DM's. If you know of a good one drop them a line and get them to check us out. You can never really have to many.

Well Jlf, can you post up a list of DM's? That way we know who and how many we currently have. Cheers, Ice Right now DM wise it looks like we have Kiu, Norfolk, Sojourn and you Ice. Once we get a confirmation on everyone we can start a seperate thread/threads where you guy can set up DM sessions and let the players know when and what you are doing. It will be up to you guys to do a good job and keep things within bounds DM wise. DMs who are abusive to players or hard to get along with will be removed. Hopefully though we won't have to worry with this as all of you guys seem solid. Thanks again, BG:TSCC Team
