Their magic missles hit bloody hard, also you get swarmed in the Fields of the Dead, it's pretty ridiculous and even though I have 12 spell resistance, it goes through it so I just get owned by this unstoppably magic damage which deals like 25 dmg a round.
I found it much easier against helmed horrors.

The server has items that give you 10 DR against Magic Damage (even though such items and abilities are, supposedly, not meant to exist according to PnP rules). They make IGMS useless.
Also, 12 spell resistance is nothing. Even a level 1 mage has a 45% chance of penetrating it; the skeletons are probably at least level 11, so they ignore an SR of 12 entirely. Also, 12 sounds like you got it from an item, and SR on items doesn't work properly.

I like having some 'tough' spellcaster mobs on the server, especially in an area that is clearly marked as dangerous. Those mages are scary to me too, but I enjoy it.

If you wear the magic resistance ring, the AI metagames it and no longer casts Magic Missile or IGMS to even bounce off of you. They'll cast something that will work. On a different note: You can sneak attack Skeleton Mages. So much for undead?

If you can sneak attack them, it would make sense they they are crit-able as well. Pretty odd for skellies!
