Isn't the displacement % bit high on displacer beasts they check easy to me and still give me hard time cause can never hit them 20% would've been more reasonable than 50%.

Say what.. then I'd have to go write a new displacement script. We just took the easy route and used the displacement spell on them when they displace. I thought their damage is kind of weak though... so it could be worse. At least they don't hit to hard.

I remember one time watching some players in the UD as a DM and one of them told the others that the displacer beasts were way too easy. I don't know what kind of build he had though.

Displacer Beasts become easy when you have several attacks per round. Then the 50% chance to miss does not make a lot of difference.
The displacer beasts in Durlags Tower are alright (50% miss, but low damage), but the lesser displacer beasts in the UD could perhaps use a tone down in displacement. They are quite "tough" (read long boring fight) when you have 1 attack per round and you have 50% chance to miss every time.

However, these annoying cats are easier for full BAB characters. I think some people just run passed them to get to the stonespear goblins becuase they can be easier to kill for some characters.

I took blind fight early on with one of my characters, and they were STILL annoying as heck to fight. But I was going at them with only one attack per round as well.

eh i had no issue, the trick is not to whack em with a club but douse them in AoE spells.
these kind of resistances are excellent imho as it forces you to consider other tactics than *whack, whack whack*

Yeah, with my wizard I just rounded them up and blew them all to hell.

Fighters that do well against displacers are archers with rapid shot, many shot, and blind fight.

I have to say that I've found them rather interesting. Long and balanced fight. They are hard to hit, but they do such lame damage that makes the fight for a lowbie fun, imho. I fought them at lvl 6-7 and it was a lot of fun, not to -one hit kill- them. But thats just me.

If you play a fighter uses a two hander for example they are hell, 50% concealment and hit you quite often plus i've noticed they get criticals quite often on my fighter.

Yeah. My bard's been having a bit of issues as a two-hand wielder with 20-odd AC. I remember having time to go to the bathroom, and come back still fighting the displacer beast (With both of us almost dead.)

I don't think they're all that tough. Just now, while being a puny level 5 Drow, I got attacked by 7 Lesser Displacer Beasts and an Umber Hulk Hatchling at once, and only took 20 damage while killing them all.
The key is, naturally, Blind Fight. Without that I would have been toast.

I don't think it's right to assume that everyone has/should get Blind Fight, even though it is a staple feat in all melee powerbuilds.

True, but it *is* a creature with concealment, so attacking it without something to counter that is just asking for trouble.
You wouldn't fight undead without a reasonable chance to resist their level-drains etc, and you wouldn't fight creatures that petrify without an appropriate counter either.
The problem probably stems from the fact that at that level you really don't have the choice of what to fight. It's either the Displacer Beasts, or the Kobolds. More variety would solve the issue.
