Hello, you rock for reading the forums before hopping on. It is a great server, awesome community. Lacking any specific questions, all I can provide for advice is to get into the RP, all the cool stuff happens then. Oh! Make sure you you know the rules (check the forum list), especially the 3 levels in a class before 20 rule. Pick up everything the mobs drop (sometimes it'll take a second for the bag to appear). Also, the underdark here is awesome if you are curious about playing one of those races.

My suggestion would be to read the rules and getting started stuff that Blessedone posted, then browse the Elfsong forum and the guilds and factions section to get a ‘feel’ for the place.
Are you new to NWN2, new to RP, or just new to the server?
Feel free to shoot me a PM or find me in game if you have any specific questions… I am always down to help the new peeps.

Thanks for the greeting and the helpful info. I would consider myself new to NWN2 because even though I had the game for a year, I could never finish it due to bug and crashes. However after getting all the updates, I've been enjoying myself.
Recently I played online, and enjoyed much untill I noticed that I kept doing "DONUTS" in the game. Looking for a PW to play I saw "Baldurs Gate". With my love for the Forgotten Realms, I picked this one. After an hour of play I noticed this is my home. I do have a question? What if I wanted to only stay in 2 classes, will that be fine or do I need 3 classes?

You only need one class to play well in here. I usually multi-class for the customization options but both of my favorite two PC's have just two classes in their builds.

Today was an alright day. Other than a few crashes, I like todays experiences. I got a good feeling that one of the DMs was keeping close tabs on me in the ruins with the Kobolds.
I think that I may have found me a good possible ally for the near future. Thanks for the healing kit etc. It made a big diffence in my day.
I'm still looking for more allies for my big plans. I know that in the future it will be my allies and myself that will be most feared. *Sits back in the shadows and grins*

Sel, heh sorry me and my freind didn't group up with you in the Kobolds but, I mean your character was dark and creepy and we met him in the ruins. So, we didn't feel it ICly to travel with you but it was fun to rp with you, and I look forward to doing it some more.

It's okay, if your saying that my character was "dark and creepy" then your letting me know that I'm on the right track regarding my role play and my alignment. Please don't take my attitude in the game with my attitude in real life. You did a good job yourself. I've played D&D on PNP and not alot of guys that I knew could act out the way you did. It was cool with the run in located in the ruins. If I didn't crash I would had like to keep it going. If you and your friend see me again point out that it the dark creepy guy thats mean. ;D See you around man.

Okay call me noob, but I got good reasons, anyway could some one tell what AFK stands for? And the DMFI TOOL? What is it and whats its purpose? Also correct me if I'm wrong but, Party chat is not allowed? Cause when I'm in a party and like I'm in the realm of dead, am I suspose to use "talk" or can I use "party" Using party is quicker but if I'm not suspose to use it I will stop and inform others.
I understand not to use Shout. And if any messages to the DM I'm to use "DM Chat."

AFK = Away From Keyboard DMFI Tool = Dungeon Master Friendly Initiative Tool Die rolls, etc., are part of that if I remember correctly. You can also change the names of item, but I'd not recommend that as it sometimes bugs and changes your PCs name (and on occasion, so I've heard, it changed the name of those around someone using it). So if you need the name on something changed, it's best to ask a DM to do it for you. Party chat IS allowed, however on occasion a DM will ask players not to use it if he is running an event and he is being spammed with it. In general I'd recommend not using it unless you have to (like you are in different areas and there are multiple people you are talking to). For just OOC discussion with one other person, I'd suggest using Tells instead of party chat. Still, there's no set rule saying you can't use it. That's just my opinion based on my experience watching everyone's private conversations in the party chat. Then again, we've picked up people saying some interesting stuff because they didn't realize a DM could see it. Woe to the person who criticizes the PW on party chat!!! P.S. Tells are actually very quick. There are five ways to do them. 1. Use the player menu and click on the name. 2. Type /r and that will have you respond to the last person who spoke, whether it was in local, party, or a tell. 3. Right-click a PC and use the /t function. 4. Right-click a PC's name on the chat window and hit the tell option. This way doesn't work perfectly all the time and if there is a space between the quotes and the player's name, then you'd have to remove it first before the tell will send out properly. 5. Type in: /t "PC name" to send to anyone.

Okay admins and DMs. Being noob again I just have to ask this question for clerification. Peeping the treads, in role play area such as Elfsong Tavern, Its strickly role play right? Another member explained to me that I must keep the IC in the IC threads and OC well in the OC. I humbly appologize if I made a few mistakes. I'm away from my computer over the weekend, so I have been peeping the theads alot lately. Again someone please break it down to me cause I don't want to ruin someones RP nor mine. By the way did I mention I'm away from my computer? I'm HAVEING WITHDRAWLS !!!!!! I NeeD TO gET on!!!!!
