I play NWN2 at 1680x1050 resolution. Some of the PC tools text are not visible to me somehow. Is it just me? Here are the screenshots.

Not sure. I had cleared the hak, pwc, override folders as required before I install the files for this persistent world.
I don't play on any other servers/persistent worlds and have not installed them.
I have larger than standard windows XP's fonts for easier reading, I am just wondering if the font size or font used in PC tools is related to the windows XP system font?
Is there anywhere that I can change or fix the font and/or font size for PC tools?

Here are two screenshots for comparison. First screenshot is borrowed from the thread for creating macros by Ryokami. Second screenshot is from my own computer. Note the difference in font size.

problem solved. I found a old copy of fire&ice mod in the ui\custom folder. I have no idea why it was installed there instead of the override folder as I only cleared override, hak and pwc folder when I installed the files required for BG. Anyway, lockemurdock, you may want to check that location too. The same might have happened to you. Now that problem with PC tools is solved, the text are now almost unreadable at my native resolution 1680x1050 (too small) or in 1440x900 (the text are all fuzzy) Any advice on how to get more readable font at high resolution without breaking the server rule and pc tools?

Unfortunately for me, I don't have anything custom installed. I'd made a new NWN2 folder for this PW and only added the required files. I appreciate you posting your solution, though.

I tried stepping it down in each increment and found that scaling caused me to have big black borders on screen edges. Best resolution I found for me to fill the screen as native would is 1360x768. This is on a 46" screen sitting at about 8 feet away.

How did you use customized resolution like that? I tried it by modifying the nwn2.ini in my document folder and it was reset to 1024x768 when the game starts. the lowest wide screen resolution option for me was 1440x900.

I just used the Screen Resolutions settings in the upper left of the Game Options Graphics Tab.

Hi lockemurdock, something must have changed your font size settings. You may want to search for a file named "fontfamily.xml" in both "my documents" folder and the game folder. the one in c:\program files\neverwinter nights 2\ui\default\fontfamily.xml should be dated 26/10/2008. there shouldn't be one in your my documents folder. hope that helps.

Yep, my fonts were set to 14 instead of 12. Now I have the DMFI text, but I can hardly read the chat box. XD
Thanks for the direction, Soldonz! ;D

Now I have the DMFI text, but I can hardly read the chat box. Same problem for most of us I think. The only thing that I found to be useful without breaking the rules is to replace the actual font files with liberation fonts nwvault.ign.com/View.php?view=NWN2UI.Detail&id=81I did the following file replacement replacements (remember to backup the original font files): NWN2_Main.ttf -> LiberationSans-Regular.ttf NWN2_MainB.ttf -> LiberationSans-Bold.ttf NWN2_MainI.ttf -> LiberationSans-Italic.ttf NWN2_MainBI.ttf -> LiberationSans-BoldItalic.ttf NWN2_TitleBttf -> LiberationSans-Bold.ttf This way, the fonts are now more readable at high resolution without breaking anything since the font size isn't changed. Not the best solution.. I know.. but.. I really can't think of anything else.

Doens't look like the DMFI tools like that font, either. Even at the default settings, it's blank. I'll just squint. Thanks again, though. I really appreciate your help.
