Reason I ask this is because Im trying to find out if its something with me or whats really going on. I know other europe players playing here, and still havent seen tons of these posts so figured Ill ask basically anyone if they experienced something like this.
Basically its unplayable, worst case we are talking point somewhere, wait 10-15 sec and then the character perform the action. Sometimes just freezes (not error msg), mostly its about 5 seconds delay to do anything, character is teleporting around, fighting mobs in melee though on screen they are far away. Its really no use at all playing when it gets like this. This always happens in peak times, when server population reaches 40+
I have done alot of research to minimize lag and it is deff not my hardware (besides its working flawless in non peak hours). I have tried various ISPs (moving my laptop to others, trying various wirless networks around etc) still same result.
What I dont understand is this: I also play on The forgotten realm server and there the lag is not a problem even at 40+ players, and that server is also located in Canada. Myself, im connecting from scandinavia in europe. And no, no use coming with the Tfr areas are easier on the cpu or such, this is not a hardware problem for sure, its a lag / connect problem.
Anyone else have it like this? I.e not just slightly lag, but basically unplayable during peak hours. I really like this server, so I am deff going to continue the research. Hope for some answers, comments or whatnot! Any suggestions warmly welcomed!
Cheers! Avantor

For me it's when it gets to about 47+ players. At that point, the lag is usually bad enough that it's pretty much unplayable (at the very least it's not enjoyable). And while I have no hard evidence, it seems to me that when DM's are actively running events, the lag generally seems to spike as well.
This is from West Coast, USA.

Well they are doing stuff to help prevent this, which is still a work in progress. PREVIOUS THREAD ON SERVER UPGRADES[glow=red,2,300] theswordcoast.proboards.com/index.cgi?action=display&board=newsandannouncements&thread=3499&page=1[/glow] But peak hours also tend to be when DM's run events... which makes sense cuz that's when you want to play, but unfortunately will tend to compound the lag issue. It's not just Europe, it's the US too. I'm in Mississippi and I've had similar problems, so you aren't alone. I got dropped 4 times yesterday before I made it out of BG. I would say that I had a corrupted bic or something, only that I only have the problem when there is exceptionally high latency. Some of this I still think may be (other) people using overrides... yet another problem that *should* be fixed with the next NWN2 patch. I can't find the link, but in the next patch, the server will have the option of blocking that crap. (saying that it actually works) Anyway, there have been a few threads on this, and the BG crew is taking steps to work on it. Until then, we just gotta kinda suck it up and throw some cash at the Paypal account (which I still have to do myself).

Thanks for the reply on this.
I will lock this because there is already another thread going.
