I have been having multiple kicks in BG and freeze ups even during fights. I checked the threads on smoothing out transitions and I looked to be mainly in compliance. I also have 3k RAM and a Nvidia 8800 GT that ran flawlessly when I first started BG. It seems to be an issue with population because around 45+ people I get the problems. I read somewhere in an earlier thread that a remedy to this was being worked out. Please announce when you have this going so I can hop back in on a more regular basis. I will kick some cash for upgrades and make myself available when I get emails on guild related stuff. In the meantime, I guess I will keep messing around with the toolset.

You don't need hardware upgrades. Your PC is stronger than mine and I'm able to play with very little trouble most days.

It could be the size of your bic file. I'll ask eldur to look and see if it is bigger than normal. Are you a caster by chance? How many spells are in your spell book?

Have you followed all the suggestions in the "Performance Thread" and in this link? nwn2forums.bioware.com/forums/viewtopic.html?topic=568358&forum=118I had those same problems until I did this. Also, do you walk around with a lot of buffs on? I suggest getting the little or no buff override linked above.

I've also had this problem... I have noticed that around 45+ people I start to lag very badly. however when certain people leave the lag leaves and when they rejoin the lag comes back. could these people be using overrides??? Or is this simply a coincidence and a sudden lag burst due to people joining? I've never looked into it that much but just curious.

Hi im new to the server and i love the setting and the well made areas...but the largest minus to the server i see at the moment is the horrendous amounts of lag...and the constant players that logs on and off all the time..it creates gigantic lag spikes that makes even mroe people crash..so i have an idea..
I know from my experiences in other games and in NWN 1 that there is a system that forces players to wait a few minutes before they can log in again..it helps reduce lag alot..
Another source for lag is the players that ignore the WASD rule and simply uses it anyway because they are too lazy to read the rules..i dont see any solution at the moment to it since you cant moniter what keys they are useing without violateing the computer privacy laws.
The most common source of lag ive encountered in my time online in NWN and NWN2 is Script conflicts. Maybe takeing a look to see if some of them are makeing conflicts wouldnt hurt.
Anyway these are jus my suggestions.
Best Regards Biohazard89
