My good Dukes,
Some days ago, upon my travels one late night along the Trade Road, fate had led me to the meeting of one Lt. Aiden McBride of the Flaming Fist and fellow brethren of Helm. Myself being a devout and ever faithful paladin of great Helm and having just days earlier first came to the Gate, I new this encounter was nay chance nor accident, but surely a design of the one Helm himself. Upon learning of his status and role with the Fist, I voiced my interest to Lt. McBride in joining it's ranks. He agreed it would be well in my doing so, calling it divine intervention himself that we had met, thus recommending I write this letter with his approval in my doing so, which honored me greatly. You should know that I am ever strong in my faith to Helm and thus devote my life to the protection of the innocent, upholding the law and the purge of all lands from the rot of evil. No better way may I serve this purpose but by joining the Fist. You will find few as devout to this cause as I, I assure you.
With great respect and honor, Helm's servant, Paladin Lan Al'Thor

The letter is received and forwarded to Captain Koruelve, chief recruitment officer. Upon reviewing it, but finding that no address or place to contact the person was left, he calls Lt. Aiden McBride to learn more about the potential recruit.

The day had barely started and the Lt. was catching up, or trying to catch up on paperwork and reports and preparing for the coming training sessions of the near future, when, a knock was at his chamber door. "Sir! Cpt. Koruelve has requested your presence sir!" the Pvt. said and the good soldier then left and returned to his post.
Aiden made his way to see the Cpt. who he knew was the chief recruiting officer and he wondered to himself what this may be about. He soon found himself in front of the Cpt. at attention and giving his salute. Cpt. Koruelve showed the Lt. the letter and Aiden nodded slowly as he remembered meeting with this Paladin and the Cpt. began to inquire as to where they could find this one....
"Sir, to my knowledge, Brother Al'Thor can be found at the Temple of Helm when not in the field as a vigilant guard against the evils of these lands sir. I can make contact with him and ask that he report directly to you if you wish. I explained to him that I could do a Field Observation period on him and as long as he showed potential, then, we could move forth from there. Sir, if I may, I believe this Lan already shows great promise as is due to his dedication to the ideals of Helm as a loyal follower. He has proven martial skills with both blade and shield. He was inquiring about joining the ranks of the Fist when I introduced myself sir, and this, I believe, was a direct guidance by the hand of Helm himself sir. Still, I am but a Lt. and await your orders on the subject matter sir." and with that, the seasoned soldier awaits his orders to place this subject under observation prior to official training....or otherwise........

Cpt. Koruelve gives assent to Aiden.
I trust your judgement in this matter, Lieutenant. You may begin field training with this Lan of Helm. If he is a dedicated as you imply, he will be a good addition to our ranks. Have him see me once he has completed his training.
