What follows are some simple rules and ideas taken from other DM's on this PW as well as some of my own. The list may evolve over time and my experiences with Digital DMing, so, patience is a virtue with me right now. Oh yeah, check back periodically for updates to Quests and Rules.....
1) First and foremost, please enjoy yourself and have some fun. We as DM's take time to create a playable story for you the players to enjoy. We take pride in seeing the results as a 'memorable' experience for players and know we have done well when they continue talking about it many moons later.......You know, "Remeber when Justin Crownsilver and a few others met with Elmnister and were told that Justin had to carry this durn ring to a Red Dragon to destroy it?" kind of thing...
2)Like being near a swimming pool, if you run, bad things may happen. Please try not to do this. I understand when the Event calls for a 'sense of urgency' and such, but, for the most part. Please refrain from running around like a horde of chickens with your heads cut off.
3)Dice Rolls are something that have their place. Therefore, there is no need to be rolling dice to accomplish something unless asked. Now, if you wish to try something that requires a dice roll, then, by all means send me a tell and we can get you rolling!
4)Have fun......kick back, relax and enjoy......
5)Keep the OOC chatter low please. It destroys the immersion for others and grinds against RP. I understand a pause in the action or RP, so, If you must, please use the noted ((hey there man)) or //what's up like most use.
6)Please...please....please..try to RP. Emotes, talking, something more than hack and slash when the time comes. You may find that you actually enjoy doing it. You may actually find that it is addictive and slowly become an RP genius/guru! What I am saying is, just give it a try while in one of my events.
7)Resting in the middle of an event.....well, please do not do this. If for some reason your PC suddenly falls asleep flat on their face, with no tent and did not even find a good location and decide to get comfy after a major battle with a horde of Goblins right there on the battle field...well...they are prolly gonna' find themselves with more problems than the Goblins they just wore themselves out fighting. I will give a 'hint' as to when it is appropriate to rest, but, the 'rest' (hehe, pun intended) will be up to you........*cough* Watch Duty *cough*
8)Have some freakin' fun you all! We are playing a game!
