Hello.
I think the devs should take a look on how much XP the helmed horrors give compared to hill giants and mountain ogres. The hill giants are FAR more difficult than the horrors with their 20 AB, a fort save of 21 and big hurtful clubs of damage - yet they don't give much more XP. Even at level 18 with a character several people has referred to as a powerbuild, horrors are much more efficient to grind if XP is the only concern.
IMHO, horrors should be reduced somewhat in XP, or the monsters immediately above them in CR (ogres and giants) should be upped somewhat, to prevent everyone from flocking to that house.
And/or maybe we could get some enemies around that CR who don't have uber fortitude? ;D

I agree. I tried skeleons in the Fields of the Dead, ogres, hill giants and helmed horrors.
Helmed horrors win by far. By using crossbows, I do only need to focus on 1 helmed horror at a time as the AB combined with the crossbow is too low to hit my character.
I'm more in favor of raising the XP than lowering it, so I suggest two things; either raise the XP for the ogre and hill giants or remove the helmed horror's ability to use a ranged weapon. Make them engage in melee instantly so solo character will have a tougher time.

Why not just fix their creature-type? Right now they're giants. If they were properly classified as constructs, they'd be immune to criticals amongst other things.

They may be glitched somehow. They are supposed to be slightly harder than the skeletons in the fields of the dead. (I'll also check to see what they are doing with those crossbows)

Helmed Horrors have been fixed.
The Giant Alliance Society has revoked their Giant status and they have issued a recall on all Helmed Horror crossbows.

Helmed Horrors have been fixed. The Giant Alliance Society has revoked their Giant status and they have issued a recall on all Helmed Horror crossbows. lol, not only fast, Fast and Funny.

Just tested them. The change works like a charm; I'll have to get my XP from giants now, and I can do so without feeling like an idiot for taking the suboptimal route. Good work.
