I've been going over a few ideas in my head that might be able to reduce lag, If it's at all possible. I'm certain that all of us have been experiencing the lag and even complaining about it. Most of us know why it's happening but we can't do anything, so here are a few ideas.
1) Wolf Hide/Beetle Issue - Since DM's aren't always around and they certainly don't want to always be sitting in the wolf/beetle area, give local law enforcement powers to write 'tickets' for littering. It might not have to be a ticket, perhaps a warning then an hour in jail or something of the sort.
2) How possible is it to have areas that have no PC's in it be 'turned off' essentially. They are immediately dormant and every item on the ground is turned off. I don't know what it's like now, but I think something similar is in play because sometimes when I leave an area with 30 goblins behind me, when I go back in there's no goblins.
3) I'm still all for turning off spell buff effects, especially on slower machines this would cause issues that effect other players.
4) Automated server resets every 3-4 hours, cleans everything up and gives it a fresh start, fixes bugged chests and takes any pesky items off the ground that are still there. I'd say this should be looked at when the Save Location thing is working 100%, the only one time I used it I went to the normal starting Tavern.
Those are some of my ideas. Some might have already been discussed and if so I apologize because I do not want to steal anybody elses ideas. What do the rest of you think?

It might not have to be a ticket, perhaps a warning then an hour in jail or something of the sort. Fist Officer - "Excuse me, citizen, can you please pick up that discarded wolf hide? It's against the law to litter." Evil Character - "What, pick up my garbage?" *sneers* "I think not! Have at thee! *impales the officer with their sword* Fist Officer - *mutters as he dies* “Oh, great… and I thought I was going to get killed by an assassin some day, not a litter bug!” I can just picture it - all the evil characters will be killing the law enforcement right and left over throwing their garbage on the ground! 2) How possible is it to have areas that have no PC's in it be 'turned off' essentially. I don't know what it's like now, but I think something similar is in play because sometimes when I leave an area with 30 goblins behind me, when I go back in there's no goblins. This is a good idea, and we do have something similar already, but the thing is that it activates when the area is empty, I believe... and the Wolf area is almost never empty

I could tell you that two of those won't be options for sure. For one, the local law enforcement is generally scorned/ignored around here. And server resets every 3- 4 hours would kill many an event. Sometimes it takes us an hour (or more) to set up events. Having a server reset destroys all the preparation.

It doesn't have to be every 3-4 hours, it could be more maybe even 8 hours, giving 3 resets a day. If Local Law enforcement is frowned upon... what about a 'mockery' thread? Post a screenshot of whoever's littering, have everybody make fun of them for being stupid.

Oh that would be really good for getting along. There is enough drama between players already. You would not be mocking a character but a player on the forums here...

So we should be like "Oh look, he's not picking up hides. Keep up the good work citizen!"
