Not sure if this has been brought up before, i have a feeling i read somethign somewhere but couldnt find it. Anyways, what I wanted to know is if its possible to use these prestige classes on this PW? If we are wanting to use one of these classes can we just ask a DM to give us the required feat or maybe do a quest to gain the feat that will allow the use of the prestige class? Or are they just going to be considered a no go. I suppose i can understand rpwise why NN might not be available since Neverwinter not nearby(although you could be on an undercover mission maybe? Of course that wont make sense when more than nine people choose the class ) but the SOA shouldnt have any rp reasons why it shouldnt be able to be used. Just a thought Edit: just occurred to me that you couldve trained as or previously been of the NN and decided to leave or been discharged or some other reason to have had the training. Just im of the belief of being able to use the prestige classes available

Neverwinter Nine Shadow Thieves of Amn Both these prestige classes have a history feat as a requirement that you would pick up during the OC. So it is not possible to use these Prestige classes without gaining their respective history feats. Which could be manually given by a DM or maybe(not sure how you would do this though) you could remove the feat requirement behind the scenes so it is not needed to take the prestige class. nwn2.wikia.com/wiki/Neverwinter_nine%28PRC%29nwn2.wikia.com/wiki/Shadow_thief_of_amn%28PRC%29

The problem with the SOA is that the OC is mostly scripted around certain abilities.
Like the discount on goods isnt like appraise where it...just happens. The OC was scripted to check the SOA status before giving the discount. If we use the SOA it would be very cool for rp and class options, but would make more work for the DM's, which as you know they have alot on their plate already.
I think its a good idea though.
The Neverwinter nine dont exist in baldurs gate, but the PRC can be used to proxy for alot of other PRC's since many PRC's themed like the NN have similar abilites.
Ex-The NN could be uses to simulate the Purple Dragon Knights of Cormyr, if...you know we were in Cormyr.

whether or not you can use these classes would have to have some serious reasoning behind it. The N9 is something that would require a substitution since your not protecting a lord (Though that would be one of the pre-reqs Id say) but you could protect a Duke after some time, or be a body guard of someone very important.
The ultimate decision is left up to JLF and Driller, as for the DMs they may be a little apprehensive to grant you such things easily.

Yeah thats why i suggested some sort of quest to be able to use it if thats what it takes. I was thinking of being the right hand man of someone would work nicely. As the character i wanted to use it on would be a sorta evil right hand man kind of character that takes care of business

Hmmm, honestly at this point I see something like SOA making it in before NN. But even then these could and probably will be a ways off if ever at all. The reason being everything we are doing at this point has a wide focus and covers a lot of people. Things this small and specialized won't be added until the server has been up and running a while in full live mode.
I like the ideas though, especially the SoA class. It could be reworked to fit the thieves guild in Baldur's Gate.

but you could protect a Duke after some time, or be a body guard of someone very important. Aye, like the high ranking members of the Flameing fist?

Neverwinter Nine makes sense for a high ranking body guard positon, I suppose.
For the record, Shadow Thief of Amn IS the "Guild Thief" prestige class from the Forgotten Realms Campaign setting, just with an area-specific name and class features which make more sense in a computer game (in PnP, for example, reputation confers a bonus to the character's leadership score rather than getting him a discount on goods). So I see no reason not to implement it in game as such, and just say it can be used for any well-organized guild of such types. After all, not everyone has to RP that they are a member of the Shadow Thieves.
