Updated Bug ReportNone of the magical beasts (Winter Wolves, Phase Spiders, Basilisks, and Displacer Beasts) take a damage bonus from the Favored Enemy: Magical Beast feat. Either none of them are tagged as such or else the Favored Enemy: Magical Beast feat is not recognizing the Magical Beast label. Magical Beast Refs: www.d20srd.org/indexes/monsters.htmOriginal Bug ReportNeither Basilisks nor Displacer Beasts are tagged as magical beasts. The Favored Enemy: Magical Beast feat does not give bonuses for either creature.

I'll try to remember to check them after work.
I could have sworn though that they are classified as magical beasts.

where's my rust monster?! The scripts for the rust monster have some bugs. They don't take into account the enchantment on an item to determine weather you lose it. For example, a +8 weapon has a very good chance of resisting a rust monster vs. a +1 weapon (at least in PnP). Anyhow, the rust monster eats everything due to that bug. It would be cruel and unusual punishment to release it on players.

Ye looks like I incorrectly categorized displacer beasts.
Instead of being magical beasts, they are just beasts.
Xorns are outsiders which is correct.

I did some additional testing on Winter Wolves and Phase Spiders. Neither seem to be registering as Magical Beasts as far as the Favored Enemy feat is concerned either.
I wonder if the Favored Enemy: Magical Beast feat is somehow not recognizing the Magical Beast label? Could they be mapping to different values? (My wild shot).
The alternative is that none of the four magical beasts are tagged as such...which seems unlikely.
I've updated the original post to include the new information. Thank you for looking into this, Luna!

Hmm,.. this is mildly confusing and odd.
Winter wolves are Incorporeal by default from the toolkit. And phase spiders are Vermin.
Go Obsidian!

Wow, I guess that solves the mystery. I can understand the mistake on the phase spider, since normal spiders are Vermin. But the winter wolves....
