I just recently Upgraded (yea right) to Vista Home Premium Edition / SP1 as my mother board on my XP Box fried and I had to buy a new computer .. So I installed Nwn2 and patched to 1.12 and everything works just fine and I can game with no issues .. I was going to hop in the toolset to work on an underdark area for TSCC that Jl2fn sent to me BUT - - - - - - - THERE WAS NO BUTTON FOR THE TOOLSET ON MY MENU when I clicked the Icon on my desktop I found out just a bit ago that I cant get the Toolset start button from my desktop MOTB Icon . But I can get to it if I go to the drive with the CD in it . Unfortunatley when I start the toolset I get a "Neverwinter Nights 2 Toolset has stopped working" error message .. I reinstalled DirectX 9c and upgraded the .net program with NO LUCK ... Iv'e read that this issue is not going to be fixxed until the 1.13 patch .. In conclusion , VISTA pretty much sucks and Im considering buying a new copy of XP and reformatting my new computer already ...

thats odd I use vista on my laptop and nwn 2 works just fine for me...try this....go to the desktop background and select the classic background to see if that helps...i remember there was some graphics error I had with the toolset but if you switch the desktop background to classic it went away. If not try posting at bioware and searching for a similar error...I know its not solely because of vista because me along with a lot of others use vista and nwn2 works perfectly.

I guess Micrsoft pulled the wool over my eyes for a little while but I can officially now confirm that Ms Vista sucks !!! Its a decent looking OS with lots of bells and whistles but as far as combatibilty with other programs it is way under developed .
I not only had issues with the Nwn 2 Toolset button being totally gone but also had a missing file issue on Nwn .. Not to mention several other programs not working or missing files ...
Well I will not be denied from my entertainment and I get extremely ticked off when things dont work the way I want them to .. So I went and bought another copy of Windows Xp as it is the better OS in my humble opinion . Reformatted my machine , reinstalled Xp , loaded up Nwn 2 and viola my toolset is there again .
Morale of the story is that MS VISTA is a Piece of Crap Os that is , overly bugged , overly priced , and should be avoided like the plague IMO ..

Yeah i went and bought a new laptop for Uni and found that they only came with Vista. And hearing all the bad things about it i was a bit wary. But i needed it so i had to buy it. And i can tell you i hate the user account control setting thing that makes you click "approve" for every damn program you run on the computer if i didnt want to run it i wouldnt have clicked on it Luckily i found a way to disable this very annoying function Also I made sure i set the desktop to classic view. Before that the desktop was using up over 50mb of mem, compared to only 4mb when in classic. Free up some mem for NWN

I'm running Vista Ultimate (64-bit OS, 4mb RAM, nVideo 8800 gtx 768mb) and my Toolset exe is in the folder and runs when clicked. I can't say that it actually works, other than informing me I can't save an empty file, because I have yet to try programming with it.
Do I have problems with Vista? Yes, but most are because I try to play 16-bit games without dosBox. Then again most of my non-game programs are either openSource or M$
