I just wanted to give a shout-out to the folks who I adventured with through the UD yesterday.
This was perhaps the best group of "grinders" I have worked with on BGtSCC so far and we got some great RP and tactical combat going.
I can't recall all the folks who were involved over the day (some left and some joined) but in no particular order here's some of the ones I can remember:
Isendur- halfbreed tracker: xclnt for pointing us towards the XP bags ;-)
Torksh- sneaky fighter: great for tag-teaming with my AT and having a couple rez scrolls!
Nyth- cleric: great for bringing a number of us back from the brink of death
Sonia- halfbreed sneaky fighter/archer: good fire support
Female mage/something else i couldn't figure: good fire support and thank god it turned out you were a DM! (sonia got stuck in a hole on that dang bridge and much hilarity ensued as we tried everything to get her un-stuck).
I believe it was mostly a level 4-10 party with the level range mostly managed well.
Some highlights:
1). My toon getting swarmed by a bout 10 stonespears resulting in him getting whacked. Me standing on the fugue plain crying that i was about to lose 1200xp wiping out hours of grinding and then *boom* back IG with me scratching my head and Torksh laughing about his lucky scroll of rez. I stil owe him one ;-)
2). Sonia getting stuck in the bridge hole.
3). Running across the "horrid umber hulk" for the first time, the whole party turning tail and running back to the water crossing where we realize he's having a hard time getting across the stepping stones. So we turn around and shoot him to death. Much hilarity.
4). Turning a corner in a the trog area to be confronted with a shaman behind a line of trog warriors spamming Isacc's at the party. Whoa a spellcaster! We brought him down but not before he got one (or two?) of us. Thankfully nyth was on hand.
What an awesome day of fighting and rp'ing.
We even managed to fairly effectively share all the loot out between the group without excessive keebling.
That's how PW non-dm'd adventuring should be imho.
See you on the server in the future folks!
P.S. I should also add the CR adjustments to the critters really seems to have helped with the flow of fighting. The beautifully crafter, complex environments really do add to the tactical choices players can make. It beats the hell out of a warren of unremarkable, cookie-cutter tunnels. Well done devs!
