There's alot of unique things surrounding BG:TSCC, from it's playerbase, to the DMs, to the quality of content, and it's delivery. Below the layer of the game however, BG:TSCC is also a prominent investor into a business that currently manages the physical portions at allowance to BG:TSCC's needs, providing the computing machinery that helps drive this content forward. As a result of being one of the first four key players in helping to kickstart the underlying business, the BG community has long lingered under the spotlight of numerous eyes as a yardstick to gague future endeavors by. During the past eight weeks, the BG community has had to suffer through a few modifications, tweaks, migrations, and server related downtimes that were made to accomidate the community further, and even moreso prepare the community for further expansions.
Due to the gratitude the affiliated business has with the BG community's patience, time, and patron works, we will continually apply perks and kickbacks with available resources that only the four initial investors can redeem, and with given enough time, even free services. We extend a heartfelt thank you to Josh, the development staff, and the playerbase of BG:TSCC for taking part in mutually sharing ambitions and dreams for everyone involved in this huge undertaking.
As a result of progress, the server will be seeing several new phases. The first of these is the return of the server to the original colocation. This is to minimize the amount of traffic hops it takes for data to reach and be sent from and to the server to stabilize and in many cases lower pings. This will also assure no downtime due to curious felines, or questionable ISPs. The purpose of this is that the testing and load balancing performed on the machine has met quota for three weeks straight, and exceeded for two of those. This move may remain in the same locale for two to three months while the buildout in the new colocation is made. This will introduce a IP change however it will be transparent those who are direct connecting through DNS.
During that time, premium Cisco hardware installations will be made, providing firewall options, and traffic optimizations that the final and permanent move will permit the most significant advances in networking today available to your community. The investments made will also funnel into cluster computing of which BG:TSCC be one of the first provided with the Beckton Nehalem server hardware, significantly boosting performance without a single cent of cost increased. As time moves on, and more customers are introduced to our services, we will continually drop the operating costs until the BG:TSCC community receives high quality hosting for free as a thank you for believing in our mission.
We're nearing the home stretch, ladies and gents, the end is in sight. ;D
