Agreed. It used to be one could select the amount, but now can only buy one at a time. After that, the purchase screen automatically scrolls to the top and the process begins all over again. DMs can select potions in large numbers (10) from the items browser, so adding such packs to the shops shouldn't be hard.

on my last PW the more popular potions were available in "gallon" size that held 10 doses.

LOL, well yeah.. but so is carrying around an inventory worth of crap that the game allows you to carry. It gets justified one way or another, think of it as 'healing concentrate' if you must so that you have a reason for having ten doses per bottle

haha the idea of carrying around 5 gallons of "healing" milk is hilarious.
coming from the grocery are we?
broham2 is right though, there's worse things. like carrying around 5 suits of platemail...

I dont think Borton meant a gallon or anything similar. He meant for to make them a pack, when you buy them. Or make it like you can select the amount of potions you want to buy at once. Because you need to buy them, as it is now, one at a time, and its a pain in the arse to scroll down everything again to buy the same potion, because everytime you buy one, they scroll up to the top. You can carry up to 10 potions in one invetory slot, so thats more than a gallon to me. Wizard, I seriously doubt your weakass mage walks around with only one potion of healing at a time. Walk around with 10 potions, is the same as walk around with one big gallon imo. Better, its more reasonable to carry one big gallon then 10 small vials, considering that they have the same volume. Isnt that how we buy things at the market? Like....yeah, I want 10 sodas with 100 ml each...or....wait, scratch that. Gimme one with 1 L. ;D

or you can be a baller and walk around with no potions or med kits and pray you don't have some guy walk up to you and love tap you.

Theres alittle bit of a difference. just how big do you people think healing potions are? It is magic after all and alittle drop will do you well. Healing potions are generally small sized thus you can carry around more with out taking up to much space, but carrying around a really big one...
And anyway on the topic of buying in bulk, yes I say we need a slider or options to adjust it.
Scrolls and potions definatly, maybe bolts and arrows too, and wands!

I can just imagine it. . .
The PC gets in a long drawn out battle with a lizard chieftain. After trading blows, the chieftain lands a hit that sends the PC reeling. Now Joe Adventurer has one and only one hope to get out of this scrape alive: manage to down eight ounces (The suggested serving size marked on the gallon container) of healing potion while dodging blows. Unfortunately, the task was too difficult to do under the circumstances and Joe is sent to Myrkul. On his trip down Fugue Plane Lane, he thinks to himself. . .
Why couldn't they sell these in individual containers!

LOL! That's hilarious! =]
Anyways, I think an item slider for selecting how many potions one would want would be useful, (for arrows and scrolls too, for that matter)

This is a good idea... It can get quite annoying sometimes scrolling up and down like mad just to get a few potions.

while we're on the topic of healing potions...
there's a huge jump in scale from cure critical wounds to heal potions. the scale progressing from cure light to cure critical is fairly linear, then from 39 hp to 110. on a server i played on in 1, they increased the amount the cure ______ wounds potions healed. even if they were just doubled, the scale would correct itself. so a cure critical wounds would actually be able to heal wounds that are indeed critical. i'm pretty sure it requires tinkering in the 2da to make any changes, but once you guys do start tinkering with it, it may be worth considering.

Agreed. My PC used a cure critical wounds potion on himself and healed himself a whole 21 HP - which were immediately erased by the next hit of his opponent.

Yes, cure critical wounds potions are quite a letdown. They really should be more effective. In fact, William doesn't even use potions because of the slim effect they have on his health anyways. I mainly just use them for my other two low level characters, Boris and Calistra. Seems that most of the characters that use potions are low level anyhow.... I mean, William will use healing potions, but for RP purposes only, pretty much =] Otherwise, I just wait until I can rest with him. It would be neat to see some more powerful healing potions for high level characters.
