It was a normal day for Rubo as he started his routine of sneaking through the underdark in search of rare gems and exotic mushrooms. After a few hours with no luck he decided it was time to see if he could recover anything the Stonespear Goblin tribe had stolen. Along his way he came up to the river that separated much of the Underdark and as he started to cross he felt a hard shove on his back and lost his balance causing him to fall into the waters below. Scrambling as hard as he could he made it over to some rocks and held on so that the current wouldn't carry him off to his death.
Looking back up to the bridge that he had just fallen from he saw a Drow standing there with a smug look upon his face. Knowing what the chances were that the Drow probably wouldn't help him he sucked up his pride and yelled for help.
Low and behold he got the exact reply he thought he would recieve... "If you got yourself into this mess you can get yourself out!" and with that the Drow turned away and ran off.
After a while longer Rubo started to loose hope and his grip upon the wet rocks. Thinking to himself he could help but wonder if this was really how it was going to end. Suddenly he heard the sound of fighting on the bridge above and when he looked up there he saw a Displacer beast attacking a Troglodyte. The battle was over just as soon as it started and the Troglodyte kicked the body of the displacer off the bridge and looked down to the poor gnome.
Looking back up at him Rubo couldn't help but think to himself that he was in even more trouble now let out a small "oh no...". Suddenly the Trog started speaking but Rubo had no idea what he was saying. Moments later the Trog tossed down a rope that Rubo immediately grabbed ahold of and started to climb up. When he reached within arm distance the Trog grabbed him and helped pull him the rest of the way up.
When he was safely back on the bridge he stood there looking at the Trog half expecting to be speared and turned into the creatures next meal but instead it spoke to him again in a tone that made him realize it wasn't going to hurt him. "Th-thank you for savin me" was the only thing Rubo had the strength to say and the creature nodded to him and turned away to leave.
Realizing he was completely drenched Rubo then headed across the rest of the bridge and luckily found a broken crate to start a fire with so he could dry off.
///and just want to say thanks to SirC for fishing me out of the river and for that fun bit of RP
