Yes,once the Friendly Arm is established as that...It will be more of a centralized spot...IM sure there will be the Tavern,perhaps a merchant who sells your basic supplies.Healing stuff and potions.And possibly no gnolls at all in that area....We will see what the team has planned...Things are coming folks...Durlags,Larlochs crib,and others...The whole boat ride to Chult and Jurassic Park...Maybe even one to Skullport or Neverwinter itself....Who knows what will come eh.

No gnolls in the Arm Inn. Im praying for hobgoblins there and the gnoll fort down south. And of course, hobgoblins everywhere! ONWARD MARCH!

If someday we can eventually travel north (and they are expanding north as you can see) Baldur's Gate will become more of a central location, and that will make it busier. Plus, as mentioned, sewers would add a lot to it. I had suggested having a North Gate in the city, but that would require a lot of reworking of the maps, so I guess that's a no go. We could just have the raod continue through the farms or something like that to go North. I guess in theory we have already gone North with the fields of the dead. Actually, I think the problem of no one hanging out in the city boils down to... location. It is not centralized to where the action is, and you have have to go through three unstable transitions to get there. My solution... The Friendly Arm. An Inn centralized in the area to all the surface world areas. Would be located between the gnolls and the ogres. Now that I like. Sorry for the late post, been out of town all weekend long.

People only cluster in areas that are convenient, or provide some benifit. There is no way around that. If we want people to cluser, one of those 2 incentives needs to be provided.
That means as some have said, an inn in a convenient area, perhaps near the gnolls, which would go under convenient location. I think a small XP incentive and reset of the rest timer would also help. Remove the rest timer inside the inn that people want to cluster in, this would work best if it was the elfsong tavern. If the rest timer is gone, people are more apt to go there. A small amount of timed XP or talking XP for being inside the building would also help.
Overall, I think this is a good idea. As a new player, I have been having a lot of trouble actually finding other people to role play with, I find I have to camp in a spot till someone interesting passes by.
