The soldier spends some time in reply to the others who have taken time to write him and he takes time to respond to each and every one of them. He tells Brother Bron and Keirran that, it is not his choice as to who joins the ranks of the Fist, but, that it is his superiors who make that choice and directs the two to Duke Eltan and then gives the reply to the senty to deliver. Finally, Aiden takes up more parchement and dips his quill in the vial of ink...... He begins with a sigh and shaking head.... Duke Eltan,
It is with a heavy heart that I bring such news to you. The Flaming Fist are once again the targets of assassins. I have, myself, been blessed that I was not ushered into the Fugue Plane only a few days ago. There was word not long ago of an assassin's guild operating within the very walls of the city itself, but, I have found no evidence to support such information even with the raid on the once operating Guildhouse not far from here. This attack does nothing to support such rumors either, for the attack was near that foul stronghold of the Gnolls, which is a plague upon the Tradeway Sire.
I shall personally spread the word to all soldiers to be more alert than ever and to keep an eye out for anything out of the oridnary within the walls and without while on patrol. I also shall begin, with your permission, training to aid in countering such tactics as used by these.....rogues. They are mostly cowards that strike with deadly precision from the shadows only to slip back into those shadows and I have seen their tactics used on numerous occasions now.
If we have the means and the resources, Sire, I would ask that we use them to smoke out these cowards from their holes of hiding and bring some peace of mind to the soldiers before fear begins to try and take hold of them. I fear for the moral of the men in these times as was the case for the last time the Flaming Fist were the targets of such cowards when we saw the sharp decline in the number of patrols along the Tradeway and within the very walls of the city herself. Should it be allowed to continue without retribution, then, surely we face a more dire situation in the future than last time. I have full faith that this situation will merit your attention as soon as is reasonable with the multitude of tasks that you have to deal with already Sire.
On a brighter note Sire, two of our soldiers have recieved great praise from a new comer to this region. I have read his letter and he speaks highly of the Flaming Fist, specifically Pvt. Winston and Pvt. Kaliel. I have had a copy of the letter scribed for each of the men and responded with a job well done myself and now send word to you. We all know the duties of the Flaming Fist along the roadway and many times do we take such action as is needed. Rarely is the time when we recieve such praise from one whom we have aided and this is why I ask that these two men at least recieve a job well done from their Duke as well. Perhaps this will aid to bolster the moral of the men as they see their Duke praising the men for a job well done Sire and perhaps inspire the men once more. This, Sire, is all I have to report to you at this time....Glory to the Fist!
Lt. Aiden McBride

After one more day of patrol, Kaliel returns to the Flaming fist headquarters. Inside the dressing room, he takes off the heavy armor and sighs... he then grabs a piece of paper a feather and begins to write.
Report from Pvt. Kaliel Haldur on recent Patrols,
I have made many patrols this week and there were some relevant points in each one of them.
First, I escorted a merchant from the gate to the town of Beregost. When we were making our way back, a letter was waiting for us in the middle of the bridge. It was from someone that entitles him or herself as "toybox". A bandit that probably wanted to rob the recently acquired stock from the blacksmith.
I had to call for help. I sent word to a ranger to acompany the merchant while I went ahead to check the way. Unfortunately, I lost track of them later, but if that bandit still free, we should be cautious.
In another patrol, I encountered hostile metal giants in the middle of the tradeway. There were several adventurers fighting them and also one other golem apparently made of Mythral. When the attacks ceased I left the area to return to my patrol.
And finally, I was leaving the farmlands for my last patrol when a man, probably with mental problems came to talk to me. He was carrying a large axe. I asked him to put the weapon away but he did not listen to me. I insisted but he was more worried with the light globe floating over my head. That's when another man came insulting me and the work of the whole flaming fist. I told him I could arrest him for insulting an authority but as the previous man, he did not listen as well. Instead that he kept threatening and insulting me. When I asked him to acompany me to the prision, he just walked away and disappeared after a while.
The man was wearing what seemed to be leather and had a black ponytailed hair.\\The description fits Jaden.
Besides those happenings, only the regular monsters took place on my way. I would like to state as well that I will be cleaning the goblins outside the town of Beregost since they seem to be more numerous than before.
That's all I have to report for now,
Glory to the Fist

Aiden once again finds himself sitting at the table with a bundle of reports and paperwork needing done and he lets out a soft sigh as he filters through it all. He comes across a report filed by Pvt. Haldur and it catches his attention, for, he had not seen any other Field reports in the stack of parchment..... Report from Pvt. Pvt. Kaliel Haldur He reads over the report and whispers out to himself, "Toybox?" and he shook his head a bit as he continued to read on. He got to the point of the 'Metal Giants' and he raised a brow. "Not again." he said to himself as he remembered many moons ago something exactly like this took place near the bridge and then he begins to chuckle at the description of Jaden and nods. "Yes, that one is indeed a bit crazy Pvt." he said aloud as he shook his head again. He retirieves his quil and ink vial and a piece of parchment..... Pvt. Haldur,
I am in reciept of your report and findings while on patrol in recent days gone by. I must let you know that your dedication to duty is what will be the hallmark of your actions and what will aid you in the climb of attaining rank within this organization. The metal giants you spoke of are strange indeed as I have encountered such many moons ago. I do not fully understand where they come from, but, it is said that they had to be created by one with knowledge of magick. They call them Golems if my memory serves me correct. As for this letter from the one calling themself 'Toybox', I would like to read this letter if you still have it. Bandits seem to be getting more and more creative with their ways and it intrigues me as to what new game they play. As for the crazy one, he is indeed crazy and I have dealt with him also. Just be wary of his presence and enforce the Law as we always do. All in all Pvt., this is a job well done.
Lt. Aiden McBride and with that, Aiden rolls the parchment up and seals it with wax and the holy symbol of Helm upon it. He gives it to the sentry posted up, "Get this to Pvt. Haldur soldier." and the sentry nods and gives a salute, "Yes sir!" and Aiden returns the salute and then makes his way back to the Temple of Helm for some time in prayer.......

Privates Borton and Haldur are called to the Flaming Fist Mercenary Headquarters. There they are rewarded for their dedication to their duties with promotions to the rank of corporal./// sorry for doing this on the forums like this, but I won't be in game for awhile and I feel that the players who are putting time into their Fist PCs (for quite a long while now) deserve it. No offense to those who put a lot of time in but haven't been around that long.

*Galen walks to the Flaming Fist HQ in the city of Baldurs Gate. He eyes go high as he takes in the grandeur of the place before his eyes settle on the guard on duty*
*pulls a folded note from his pocket*
"Greetings, please give this note to Vector and tell to him speak with me when he is able...it is important."
*the guard gives him a curt nod and takes the note as Galen nods and wonders off*
*the note, not being sealed, the guard peeks at quickly, it reads*
Vector,
I have information regarding a few matters of import to you and yours....please find me when you are able. I wish to tell you first as I only know a two of your order, yourself and Lt. McBride. I, however, do not wish to waste his time if you consider what I have to say important.
Regards,
Galen'ael.

* a courier delivers this Field Report to Lt. Aiden McBride *
Lt. McBride, Knowing not of what the Duke had said on weather i am aloud to join the ranks or not, i have not gotten a reply as of yet. so i have decided that i could not stand by watching bandits run wild. so i have decided that it was time i worked on behalf of the Fist none the less. Sincerely Calvin Serenity
:: Field Report ::
Patrols started as normal on the trade way headed south, a fight had occurred and a woman by the name of Aeon had Summoned and undead just before i had gotten there. As I arrived i witnessed a rift being opened and a demon came out of it, i believe that she had called it forth, she then started to cast some manor of spells on herself and then started to rant "Any one want to have a go at me?!" i asked what the meaning was, but no one answered and i was tugged away from the woman and that demon, when i learned about a few other would be bandits. One in particular, a human male, about six foot tall, dark hair, and dark armor, and a black mask. Whom tried to rob me in the cloakwood forest where i had to defend my honor and not surrender to bandits.. He was at this event seen consorting with the same woman that was seen flirting with one of our fist members just the previous patrol.. A few days prior, she was in blue with short blonde hair, it makes me a bit weary, but i am hoping that the members of the Fist are not being corrupted by bandits. Questioned some of the masked people.. as to why they were wearing masks and what they had to hide.. most reveiled there faces and the ones that didn't, assured me they were not there to harm any one.. so i had no choice but to let them go.
Continued patrol after the crowd dispersed.
later i learned that the woman in question might be named Sylvia Ducet.. perhaps we should question her intentions And her connection to the masked man in plate..
:: End Report ::
Please contact me as soon as possible. Signed - Calvin Serenity

Report Left on the Lt.'s Desk:
Late last night, at midnight, I, Pvt. Von Darkholme, returned to HQ to find a mob surrounding a drow on the Fist doorstep. I quickly gained control of the situation before it turned ugly. A few citizens offered far flung accusations about the suspects actions. I announced the drow to be under arrest and took her inside. After a lengthy discussion and questioning of the suspect I could find no law that she had broken and determined that she would be released. I will be keeping tabs on her for a few weeks as is to be expected. Should I find any suspicious activity, I shall bring her in.

//note: Once a drow is taken inside the Flaming Fist HQ, others would take over and a private would not be in charge of releasing the drow.
I'll put here the bulletin regarding drow that is posted:
There have been many reports of a large amount of drow coming forth from the Underdark in recent times. As such, to safeguard the welfare of the people of Baldur's Gate and the surrounding lands, and by order of the honorable Eltan, Duke of Baldur's Gate, any drow found to be lurking upon the surface is considered to have a bounty upon his head of 1000 gold pieces. Any person turning in these foul creatures, either dead or alive, will receive the said reward at the Flaming Fist Headquarters in the palace district.
Any individuals found to be actively aiding the drow are also to be caught and brought back to the Flaming Fist for questioning. Citizens should report any suspicious activities or sightings of drow to the Flaming Fist without delay.
And also from the Flaming Fist code:
When dealing with Drow, they are to be considered an immediate threat and dealt with swiftly by way of death.
If turned in a live, chances are this drow would be hanged.
Note that when a DM is not around you may have to be creative. Treat the prisoner as a random drow or create some RP situation to escape.

A letter of note to all soldiers of the Flaming FistBe aware that by authority of duke Eltan, citizen Lore McWebber has been granted special permission to assist us in a few very specific matters of the law and justice to the best of his own judgment, as part of his payment for bringing end to the Zhentarim member Aeon Darkane. (( The specifics have been handed out as knowledge among all Flaming Fist soldiers of rank higher then private. If you are a player of one that meets that criteria, send me a PM and I'll give you the info. Carnifex, I've sent it your way already. I suspect you won't mind once you find out the exact conditions. ))

Lasmus wearily stepped back into the Flaming Fist Headquarters and entered into the office of his superior officer to make his report.* * * The two Flaming Fist had caught up to the elf that had blatantly assisted another in attacking the Fist by enchanting him to prepare for battle. Upon telling him he was under arrest, the elf fled up the road and to the edge of the cliff where he was finally cornered. He refused multiple times to come along peacefully, or to even sheathe his weapon. Failure to do so is regarded as resisting arrest and they attempted to strike him down and disarm him. However, the elf leapt backwards, stumbled and fell off the cliff, crashing head first into the rocks below. The two fist and a couple of witnesses carried the body to the Song of the Morning Temple in Beregost where the priests of Lathander saw to his burial.
The few witnesses that were around aided the Flaming Fist and realized that they had tried every peaceful means of subduing the elf and that the elf resisted on all accounts.
After giving his report, Lasmus climbs the stairs to the barracks and flops down exhausted upon his bunk.

Lt. Aiden was busy catching up on his reports as it seemed he was doing a lot here lately, but, that was his duty and he was not about to complain about either. He was about finished up when a knock came to his chambers. He called for them to enter and in stepped Lasmus, a Pvt. in his unit. "Yes Pvt.?" he asked as he looked upon an obvious tired soldier. The Pvt. began to tell the tale of the wild Elf who lept to his death and Aiden nodded as he listened to it all. Finally, the soldier finished his tale, "Very well then Pvt. you exausted all means of peaceful resolution in this matter and thus you should stand tall with pride that you have a job well done here soldier. There are times in this life that we cannot understand the matters of the Gods and Goddess as they see what we cannot. This is one of those. None the less soldier, well done. Keep up the good work in the Field." and with that, he gave his salute and returned to his reports as the Pvt. exited his chambers. He sat back down, picked up some parchment and began to read again.........

*An envelope bearing no specific marks is left at the Flaming Fist Headquarters, the guard whom it was handed to was asked to deliver the letter to his superiors as soon as possible as it contains a report about a crime*
To whom it may concern.
I am writing this report with a heavy heart, as it is about the most outrageous attack that has taken place at the Elfsong Tavern. Such a troubling occurence indicates that even within the city walls one can not be entirely sure about their safety. The Flaming Fist is known to deal efficiently with criminals, and it is of course understandable that you can not be present at every place at all the times.
That night my companion and guard, Cecilia, and myself were enjoying drinks at the Elfsong Tavern. Then a rather intimidating figure entered the premises, even though he was speaking Common, I do not think he is a half-orc, rather I am sure that he is an orc as his actions were as brutal as those of the wild orcish tribes. He was wearing a cloak made of white animal hides, a white helmet reminding an animal head and dark metal armour, he was wielding a halberd. I have also previously heard the others call him Bozz.
That the most uncivilized and barbaric creature grabbed me by the hand and made demands to us concerning some ring of his. We did not understand what he was talking about. After that he just swung his terrifyingly looking weapon at us. I have hidden under the table, while my companion, Cecilia was trying to defend herself. A numerous witnesses saw that, however I assume that the patrons and barmaids were frightened by such a wicked creature so strongly, that they were unable to react. Thankfully, my companion and guard is skilled enough in her profession, she was able to knock the assaliant unconcious, after which we retreated.
Having described the assault, I am requesting an arrest of the said criminal and a trial for his hideous act.
Sincerely,
Aileen Lonergan.
// Sceenshots proving that NPCs, indeed, have seen this and might act as witnesses are available upon request.

He pulled tight the last leather strap on his armor and double checked that all was seated properly upon his body secured tightly. The canlde's flame danced about and reflected off the highly shined plate mail that bore the symbol of a Fist shrouded in flame. The soldier pulled back his long red hair into an orderly gathering and tied it together with a small piece of twine and turned his attention to his weapons. One by one he donned them and placed them in the same location as he had always done for many moons while on patrol in this region.
He retrieved his long, red cloak of fine cloth and secured it to his armor and then retrieved a small charm that was upon a necklace. He held it in his hand for a moment and took note of the details of the symbol. It appeared as an upright War Gauntlet with one single eye in the center of the Gauntlet and the eye's pupil was blue. It was the symbol of 'The Watcher', 'The Vigilant One'.....it was the symbol of Helm, his God whom he was a loyal servant to. Aiden had been a follower of Helm for many years and only in the most recent of those years, had he truly understood what it was meant to be a Cleric of Helm. He slowly placed the necklace around his neck and then grabbed his large shield. He made his way from the Temple and to the streets of the city of Baldur's Gate.
While walking to the Eastern gate of the city, Aiden began to think of the many times he had taken this route just prior to a patrol. How many times he had seen some of the same people taking the very same path each and every day on their normal routines and this led him to think of more recents events. The lack of reports here lately. He understood that moral was at an all time low and that most feared those of the shadows and that it was more than mere rumors that kept his soldiers at bay from performing their duty. It was fact......
None the less, the Lt. made his way to the Gate, gave his salute to those who stood post and then made his way through the farmlands to the bridge just South of the city. Once half-way across the bridge he saw something he had not seen in many, many moons. There was more than one soldier preparing for patrol! He had to wonder if peace had really been the reason for the lack of incident reports as of late. His heart lept slightly with a bit of joy and relief. Surely they were making head way, but, he thought of this with a bit of tempering so as to not become too excited about it all.
Amongst the ranks of the soldiers idly standing were some new recruits to the ranks as well as a couple of seasoned soldiers and they were preparing to set out on patrol. He gave his salute and it was returned and as they began to organize to set out, the Lt. formed them into a small formation to begin some basic tactical training and get these soldiers on the same sheet of music with how they will react to a threat. Dicipline was sorely needed and this was a prime oppertunity to begin instilling such. Aiden began to bark out orders to form up and how to form up and then to set out. South bound they were. Cpl. Lasmus, Cpl. Borton, Cpl. Kaliel, Pvt. Bozz and Pvt. Calvin with Lt. McBride guiding them. Along the way he was sharing wisdom and knowledge gained through bloodshed and pain. Together they fought many beasts along the road and spoke with many a traveler and by the time they reached Beregost many hours later, they had formed a small bond at last with unity as an organized fighting force. The Lt. looked upon his soldiers as they did such and his heart began to swell with a bit of pride. Yes....they were coming along and this was just the begining.......
They reached Beregost and the ranking officer relieved them of their duties and set out to travel back to the city after speaking with the Temple Guards of Lathander. Politics were just as potent as any well trained sword arm. Soon, he returned to the Keep of the Fist in Baldur's Gate and there a sentry met him as he entered..."Sir. This is for you sir." as he hands to him an opened letter. Aiden opened it up and read over it and stood with a bit of shock on his face....

He could not believe what he had just read. Could this be the very same Bozz that had just earned a place in the ranks of the Flaming Fist? The Lt. rolled that parchment up and nodded to the sentry as he made his way to seek out the new Pvt.........

Copies of this report are given to both Lt. Justin Crownsilver and Lt. Aiden McBride. Xation would have appeared within the courtyard of the fist compound and hurriedly spoke with the guards present. after which they ushered him inside to find him a private area to work on his account of the murder of lan the paladin of helm. his account as follows we were returning from the south lands with a young warrior by the name of sin. upon reaching the outskirts of the wolves hunting ground we found two heavily dark cloaked individuals. lan at this point pointed out the female after listening to her talk and warned us that she was not to be trusted. the cloaked female was greatly agitated and made several threats. her companion was likewise displeased. lan remarked that she had mood swings, to which the other cloaked individual agreed with. at this point we excused our selves and continued up the trade way past the wolves hunting grounds to the caravans arriving shortly after nightfall. sin departed and made his way back to the city, lan and my self idled there a bit resting from the long trek from the south. shortly after we had sat down i heard a female voice whispering threats, emanating from the darkness. particularly that she was enraged that the member of the fist had insulted her and that she was going to kill him. at this moment i cloaked my self with invisibility and began searching for her. a moment or two passes, lan seems to be talking to thin air and the man the woman was speaking to earlier arrived to sit down as well. i informed him that if i witnessed any hostel action i would assume he was in on it and target him accordingly. a few moments pass and i heard metal piercing metal, turned to see the cloaked woman from earlier striking down lan. i quickly responded, disabled her with magic, which prompted the cloaked male to rise and take on an aggressive posture.. i used what remaining spells i had to escape that place and traversed directly here to make my report. i feel confident i can identify the woman if i spend some time again in her presence, though it is impossible to give a description of her as she will undoubtedly simply change her dress.. as, likely will her cloaked male friend. most probably they hunt me now' xation would then linger around the barracks awaiting council from the fist on these events before he departs. [which is cool if you rp it out in a response here] ///// ooc note. the female involved was rai kuu kynttilla. male kataklysm
