I'd have to agree that there's no sense to creating another metropolis when Baldurs Gate is a ghost town as it stands right now. As for destinations for ships, how about the Moonshae Islands? They're right off the Sword Coast as it is, and as far as I understand they're pretty wild lands with room for adventure. Would make sense, as I see it

Oh yeah, Moonshaes with a small village would be sweeeeet. Love the barbarian feel of the place.

You should allow people to choose which citiy they want to log into after module resets.

I actually have a built out version of Scornubel from a PW Ice, Hellswraith, Eurlaan worked on in the past. It never got of the ground and I just happened to get a copy of the city when I did some touch up work on it.
Its awesome. I can't remember the original creators name as he left the project before I got there but he set it nicely. I've often thought about adding it to the PW at some point.

If you want current towns to be more popular, make smaller areas. Big zones make many people crash and take longer to load. And lag the server. BG areas are very large, which is cool for inmersion, but in practice we're really running a couple streets of them.
Other problems: As mentioned above, there's nothing to kill in town and as Meladia would say, we're all serial killers in the end. Plus they're not in the way to anywhere, specially BG which is far far away from most mid and high level zones. Beregost still gathers some people at Thunderhammer, because it's the best shop and has a good quest that can be done many times.

Heh, yeah Scorn came a long way from its original conception.. It did look pretty nice there after a while and several touch-ups. Though it is highly condensed, it may be a nice addition.
I do like the idea of small villages though, only a few buildings, surrounded by wilderness. That would be fun. -Ice

Hopefully not too much of wilderness, just visisted the Wood of Sharp Teeth, and the forest was almost over-powering experience. The orcs were easy to defeat as they were really few in numbers, however, I cannot say the same about the flora. ---- Since only few streets are used in BG anyway, why not add some thug spawns to the less visited parts of the city and script the thugs to stick in their own territory?

I think that would sound like a good spot for RP! Just think of it... A weary band of adventures are trudging through a cold forest in the depths of night, when suddenly a small glow appears in the distance through the trees - a tavern! Such a tavern or inn would be small, and maybe filled with a few unsavory characters because of its remoteness from civilized places… maybe it would even be a good opportunity for a quest-giver, eh? Possibly for higher level players, because of its remoteness?

One reason I suggested adding parts of Amn to the server is that it would give a RP reason for PCs to travel through the Cloudpeaks, rather than going just to grind. I feel like the peaks need to be there for a reason, like a difficult map to get through to another section of the server.
As far as thugs go, I think that'd add a lot to the cities and at least keep people there a little longer than normal. I'd bet that most would start meandering off anyway, though, as the thugs wouldn't provide a challenge for long.

The Cloudpeaks area, from Nashkel right up to the snow is wonderfully built, and the progression from lowlands to highlands really makes one feel that once you go up all the way, you should come back down on the other side in Amn. It would be very interesting to embark on a descent down the southern side of the mountains and slowly see the land getting greener as you travel (and the monsters getting weaker?) It also would be great for it to turn into an RP area instead of a grinding one.
There's already the makings of a well defined border between Amn and Baldur's Gate with this area, so why not expand on that?
Historically, hasn't Amn been Baldur's Gate's main rival? It would only make sense to add it... and the wealth of factions present in Amn would be fantastic!

When (if ever...) the MoW content is released to the community in a patch (that doesn't break everything else about the game that works), you'll be able to add in sewers to BG.
I seem to recall a lot of stumbling around in the sewers from the original game.
Also, thugs are a decent idea... especially in some areas down by the docks, alleys, etc....
One good idea would be to also spawn in the occasional member of the Watch a short distance away... lends itself to realism with the Watch looking to bring the thugs to justice (and just happen to help a PC if he/she gets in over their head).

I may cut the east gate down in size and make it two areas. I think the palace district is ok. I never have the crash problems with it like I do the east gate district.
