The only active guild I know of is the Weavemasters. None of the others have any activity or support.

The thief's guild, the assassin's guild, and soon to be the Merchant's League all have active members, as does the Church of Helm. I am not sure if any other churches do...
The Flaming Fist is active as a guild.
That Nature guilds (druids and rangers) have formed a new alliance lately.. its active.
I think the Zhents have members but I am not sure how active it's been.
There have been enough new players, and new characters of old players, that a few guilds could probably get off the ground if people tried to do so...

Well, I'm going to try mitigate this a bit by getting a few friends to try out the server at the same time as me.
Might bring an extra four players or so out.

hey chaps.
question from a potential sword coast noob here.
i have just left TFR after playing there for most of 2008.
My main problem with TFR ended up revolving around 2 problems:
1). a lack of a decent perma-death system. The problem being that after someone died (or was killed in a PvP incident) they would essentially just get back up and carry on as if nothing happened. I have seen a system whereby each toon has like 9 lives, one get's taken away at each death until the player runs out at which point it's perma-death. Or alternately some kind of fugue-plane that the dead get sent to for a RL week or so until they get res'd or fight their way back to the prime material. Does the SCC use any kind of death-system?
2). player membership in multiple guilds. On TFR anyone can have multiple toons be a member of as many guilds as they want. Which is obviously an invitation to meta-game if you have toons in opposing guilds (most egregiously in opposing drow houses which is common on that server). Does SCC allow players to have toons in opposing or multiple guilds?

We do have a 5% death penalty for deaths to spawns. PvP death has no penalty other than a 60 second delay, though sometimes something can be RPed out (like being taken to jail for a week). Here you may join one guild with a PC but your other PCs can join another guild.

my experience on tfr has shown that players with multiple toons in multiple guilds is a meta-gaming issue that breaks most rp AND without some kind of meaningful death penalty people don't fear death enough.

Here is your official answer (as of today) SoZ content is currently NOT supported. Now the unofficial answer. The swashbuckler does work.*edit* the swashbuckler feats do not work with this patch The new spells have been reported to bug characters, as do the new background feats and new races. DO NOT use them. If you decide to play the swashbuckler or use any of the other new content, do so at your own risk.

thanks then here's a follow up:
if i choose a swash and level up and gain his new class feats will that bug the character?
does sc plan on implementing soz stuff in the near future?
any plans on implementing reeron's or kaedrin's pnp and class fixes? (not kaedrin's nutty additional classes)
