I just had to be different and vote for 8.
I've got PC's that pretty well cover the whole spectrum (except for extreme RP but I'll get around to making one for that too.)
Sometimes I'll play an RP oriented character and other times I'll attempt to make a power-build and see how fast the mobs die. Other times my PC is little more than an experiment in using odd combinations of skills, classes and feats.

none of the options fit me perfectly.
i love being IC. i like to RP. i like to adventure. i like to quest. i dont care for grinding, but stomach it to become capable. i pvp a little, when necessary, but dont usually seek it out. i prefer pve. i like having an interesting character that's fun to play, one with personality, and a bit different from the norm. example: devin could actually wear full plate, but doesnt, because i wanted a different appearance. and i also like my character to be capable, which means some kind of decent build. i dont consider myself a power builder though....if i wanted to power build, i'd build a dwarven cleric/dd/druid, IE, divine might/elepant's hide/ flame weapon/ defensive stance, and countless buffs/spells/heals. i could build a character with ac in the 40s, but it wouldnt be a character i'd want to play. it would be a character made for the sake of the build, and i never make a character for the sake of the build.

The character drives the build for me.
I am only playing Erulaan on this server, but I have 2 other characters I have played extensively on other servers. They are never power builds, but are built to be capable.
Erulaan's build should be capable, but its the RP action that I am after inthe long haul.

I think RP is great, but I like a lot of action.... If I have RP with no action then I'm bored... If I have alot of action without RP... then I'm bored too... I got to have a good mix, but I would have to say I need action a little more than RP. ditto

I'd like to carry food. But not necessarily eat it though. Shame my character cannot have a bag of cheese to cary with her. Well, mostly I've been grinding... And I do try role-play whenever possible... I even try to speak in accents... However, my character, speaks like she speaks.

Between option 5 and 6 for me, though leaning more towards 5. Rather than an creating an effective "build" I let the theme/concept and IC experiences influence my feats/skills/classes, so my characters are rarely powerful.
