Lords and Ladies of the Court,
The Honored Leaders of our Region,
I pen this letter in request of your magnanimous intervention. Not a tenday past, as I entered Beregost to conduct some regular business after an arduous journey south, I was accosted by members of the Flaming Fist who had the city of Beregost under martial law. As it turned out a great tragedy had just struck the Jovial Juggler, and the very men I intended to meet had been slain among the many other casualties. Though my ties to this group of Dwarves was temporary and tenuous at best, by acknowledging my identity and my intention to meet them I was held in suspicion, apprehended by the guard, and escorted to the Inn where I was asked to identify the fallen and assist in the investigation.
Due to my assistance at the scene, and my tolerance of the reproach I suffered initially, The Honorable Captain Aegis Feld had said he would petition the court for a ‘letter of note’ on my behalf. This would be an honor to be sure, and one I dearly hope to receive. It seems that there is a growing bias toward my kinfolk in this region and that my very existence as a Hin is cause for some to question the motive behind my every move. With a letter from your court vouching for my character and goodly nature, perhaps some of this ever present bias could be assuaged.
I hold a room at the Blade and Stars, and patiently await your benevolent response.
In Sincere Humility,
