Hello everyone,
I am new here and wanted to inquire about a class(es) I would really enjoy and need assistance on which to play and a guild to join. Ok, there is one class, but several ways to approach it and that is the Necro. Now I did know they were gimped a while ago, but don’t know now. There is also the warlock class too. The other is playing a Neutral Evil or some form of Evil Cleric with the necro spin of hurt/minion spells if possible. I haven’t played D&D in quite some time and feel like such a noob. Also, if possible I would like know if I could inquire about the feats would be good for the char when I have narrowed it down. Thank you for your time and assistance and see you ingame!
Regards,
Glak
P.S.: Oh, I do have all the expansion pacts (MoTB and SoZ), updated NWN2 to 1.21, and downloaded/installed your PW files as well.

Welcome! Well, as far as the classes I use to play a cleric of Velsharoon on another server and that was interesting. The true necromancers are clerics ya know. Clerics are also overpowered classes. With that being said I'd suggest playing what ya want except for the warlocks there are way too many running around and should be killed off... ok well maybe not but Both my chars hate them so beware when You come across my path There is quite a few good mages running around and evil mages also perhaps rping an apprentice would be proper . As far as feats and such I don't mind helping out with a build if you want to PM me the ideas of what your looking for.

One bit of advice is to remember that open evil is openly opposed, in realms lore and within this PW.. not to say you cant play evil, because I do and its hella fun, but just beware of where you summon undead and that sort of thing (at least until you are high levels and can protect yourself, ha ha).
Necromancers and Specialty Priests of Myrkul/Velsharoon were always my favorite to play with PNP, but I havent tried it yet with NWN so I am not a lot of help with specifics.
Have fun, and I hope to see you in game!

Okay, so heres DS's 2 copper. Wizards: I've played my fair share, usually evil, espcially necromancers. Best way to go about it, is either join up with a guild like the Red Wizards, become someones apprentice and let them show you around town. Or have some of the local fighter types help you out, either through gold or just some people being good people. Seeing as on an average most people play good, you shouldn't have too much trouble finding someone to help you. Just don't summon fred the zombie to gnosh on a goblin brain infront of jake the paladin.
Warlocks: Weird. . . depending upon what 3.5 pnp book you read, could run some different ways with rp. Either as a different form of the arcane (So says Complete Mage) or of a demonic/fey/godly bloodline (Complete Arcane). As far as my knowledge, theres no guild for warlocks, even though there proberly should be with the amount i see walking around. Which does bother me a tad. If you pay really close attention about a 1/3rd of the server plays a warlock, atleast as a sub-character to their main.
Cleric: I play one, i love it! It all depends upon the way that you run with it. I'm a CN cleric of Tempus, WEE! Smash smash, kill kill. So, you might want to personify your god in a way that won't get you killed. Or take the simpler route. .. . don't tell anyone. Keep your spells to yourself. And remember, a cleric exposes a symbol of their god when they cast, so try not to cast around people, or someone whos paying attention. Also, make sure you know the pre-Time of Trouble gods, being as if your making a cleric, you should choose wisely amoung those. I know that when you create your character, you cant choose Bhaal, or Myrkul, but theres always some way to get it the way you want. . .right? ^_-
Enjoy your character, and welcome to the server. If you have any questions along the way, send me a tell if i'm ingame!

If you haven't seen them, there are two banite temple's close to baldurs gate. Just a thought if you want to play evil.
Although I really have no idea what people have done with those temple's RP wise.

If you have problems choosing, starting up a character in MotB (where you get upped to 18) to see how things will look until that point is probably a good idea. Then you can see what spells, feats and such are available in detail and decide which class (combination) is the most fitting to represent your character.
