Events run this week:
* Some packs of wild wolves have been attacking adventurers just south of Baldur's Gate
* Kobolds have been attacking adventurers in mass in the Hilltop Ruins
* On one occasion, kobolds began streaming out of the Hilltop Ruins headed towards the farmlands. They had trained dire wolves at their call. A human traveler ran towards the farmlands yelling for help and adventurers of all types ran to stop the advancing "army". After dispatching the kobolds above ground, they went into the ruins to figure out what was going on. Upon entering, they were attacked by more kobolds. Any that split up or lagged behind were overwhelmed by the sheer numbers of kobolds streaming out of holes in the walls. The adventurers found that they were originating from the lower levels of the ruins and headed that way. They were quickly attacked and then found Illithid emerging from the doorway downstairs. Causing much confusion with their powers, an experienced ranger stabbed a companion in the gut almost killing him. Despite the chaos, the party finally killed the Illithid controlling the kobolds in their attack. Using grease from a spell, the group pushed a toppled statue to block the doorway which ultimately stopped the organized attacks. With the Illithid's influence gone, the remaining kobolds were easily dispatched.

* Rangers have been witnessing Cloakwood and the Wood of Sharp Teeth come alive. Trees, mounds of moss and vines, the river, and the rocks came to life and began attacking orc raiding parties. During the instance at the Wood of Sharp Teeth, a huge shambling mound mounted an attack the orc's cave nearly wiping them all out. The rangers assisted in the attacks against the orcs and were ultimately rewarded with enchanted bows made from the branches of their wooden allies.
* Someone was introduced to the Thieves Guild. He helped out with the "collection" of some debts from a nobleman and helped kill 4 of the guards. Impressed by his skill, he was given a key of some kind and was informed that he will get directions on the use of it.

* Puppeteer 1: A small group of adventurers noticed an odd cooperation between Trolls and Ogres in Lion's Way. It was strange that they were cunning enough to lay an ambush for them. They went to the Troll caves to find out more and found minotaurs and goblins alongside them as well. Following the whole maze, they came upon an Old Man with a large group of mind flayers by his side apparently controlling the beasts through them. He gave his reasons for what he is doing but the players will have to reveal that to everyone else. The adventurers were beaten but were kept alive to spread the news of the Puppeteer.
* Puppeteer 2: A group traveling in the Cloakwood mines found Bugbears uncharacteristically docile and digging for ore. A couple of mind flayers were present but did not notice the group. The adventuring party stayed however and contested the mind flayers who then turned on them with Bugbears in suit. The group was beaten and when they woke up, the Bugbears were gone along with the ore.
* Puppeteer 3: Horses were being led south by a host of goblins. Some adventurers stopped them and headed south to figure out why the goblins were so far north. A large force was laying in wait by the Temple of Bhaal. After some intense fighting, the adventurers were victorious. A man (Drake) who ran for help brought a Flaming Fist patrol with him. It turned out that it was a trap for the Fists and a large force of suicide goblins exploded themselves into the group. Many of the Fists died in battle. Those that survived fell under the influence of the "Puppeteer" as he called himself. He had them turn on the adventurers who then summarily killed them. Before his presence left them, it turned out that the previous battles was merely a huge illusion. Dozens of mindflayers were present apparently keeping up the illusion. A final battle erupted and minotaurs bodyguards charged the adventurers with a beholder lying in wait. Many of the adventurers died in the process but they were fortunate that a couple of competent clerics were with them to raise them after the battle.

* Puppeteer 4: A small group of adventurers helped save some Flaming Fists soldiers from an ambush in Lion's Way. They followed a trail set with ambushes and discontent/conflict amongst the group ((they had to log off)) caused the party to diminish to three. They ultimately followed a group of the mixed group of monsters led by mind flayers to the Troll caves. Following the whole maze, they came upon an Old Man with a large group of mind flayers by his side apparently controlling the beasts through them. Obviously outnumbered, the group left except for one who pledged his allegiance to the puppeteer. The remaining group tried to collapse the cave entrance to trap them all in but were stopped by the turned party member and the Puppeteer's monsters.
