This is not a bug, nor an "issue" just a thought about balance.
Too easy to get XP at my level (12) from monsters that are already trivial to me: minos, treants, orcs. The XP that I got from them when I was level 8-10 was about right, but now they give me just a little less (50-60) and I slaughter them nonstop if I want to.
On the other hand, a Hill Giant gives me twice that XP, and it involves effort and risk to kill it...
Honestly, an orc raider giving me over 50 XP? it's too much, I can take the whole cave real fast, and it respawns again quickly... can't see a way to die there.
Maybe an adjustment could be made to scale down XP from a CR much inferior than your level?
Maybe there's a way to script that you get less and less XP when you kill the same variety of monster again and again? Like at some point getting half XP when you've killed over 100 of them, then a quarter after another 100...
Or just multiply the rest time delay, make it x4. Without all my spells on, even orcs can still hit me sometimes, and takes longer to kill them.
I don't know if others think like I do, but the way I conceive DnD character development you should not level everyday; leveling brings new spells, feats, and class powers that is fun to add to your repertoire and learn how to use properly, and you should spend some time on each level, you should really *desire* it. A new spell level should be some kind of milestone. That's how I see it.

Now, lowering the exp might do some good for all the casters around, as it could drive them to new challenges and so on. But in my eyes it wouldn't be fair to the pure melees, already struggling like madmen to gain a few exp without being slaughtered in two seconds. They usually don't have much choice and can't move on to higher level monsters (at around 12-16), and if the exp for the lower level ones were to be scaled down, well... The resting thing might be a good idea though.

Pure melees can get an XP bonus and better equipment, or accept that they're meant as a team player... actually increasing rest restriction would make them valuable in group, as they're never out of gas.

I'm all for melees being a team player, but sometimes there isn't anyone to group up with, so it would be nice to have some place to go for some lonely training.
I wouldn't say melees get better equipment though, with the max being +2 for AC for instance (+4 in some rare cases) when a caster can buff himself to heaven and back with +5 or more on each piece of clothing he has. Along with weapon buffs for enhancement and extra damage, most casters can outshine any melee in melee combat.
Back to the point, I still enjoy playing melees even though it's quite a challenge, but I'd prefer it if it wasn't made even harder. ;D

I think it's something in the works, as currently all classes can access the same items.

Class specific gear is in the works or at least on the drawing board. Though I have been rather busy as of late, so I havent had a chance to get into the toolset and start focusing on this. The first focusing classes will be: -Rogue -Monks -Rangers or Wizards
-Ice

I protest. Ice is not a class. :-)

I'll agree. My first and highest level character was a ranger/archer who later went Arcane Archer. It was a rough row to hoe man.. luckily I was guilded and traveled with some heavy hitters so it wasnt too bad for me specifically. I was relegated to mainly RP (especially since trying to scout during an event is nigh impossible with the Battlerager mentality of a lot of people when on an event.).
Its rough man, but its not impossible. I'd suggest partying whenever you can if its feasible for your character.
