1. Go to your pc tool and click on option to bring up your next menu. 2. Make sure "Display Text Macro Panel" is selected yes, Then click apply. 3. Right click on any of the Macro 1. Macro 2. and so on and so on to bring up a menu to set the text speech. 4. Make sure you have your mouse hovered over the "Macro Label" text. You will see a white blinking, that ensures that you can type. 5. Now just hover over the "Macro Text" same as 4. You will see a white blinking to ensure that you cant type. Now granted you cannot type as much as you can in NWN2 Text Box but it is enough for two sentences or simple macros such as "Nod" "Hello" "Farewell" Stuff of that kind. I hope this helps everyone, and thank you for implementing the pc tool that allows this

And for people that dont know what a macro is It is so you can type something more than once without having to retype it... Say for instance... Me my stormlord ability, I created a macro so every time before I use shocking weapon I can say this without have to type *BLAH BLAH BLAH*

*bows* Thank you for your photoshopped guide. I figure it would be easier to share with everyone rather than having to type it out and *cough* some people not understanding it *cough* So this was a easier way to hopefully help out a dear ol' friend. Actually I used paint, I had photoshop CS but when I reformatted my computer I lost track of the website I pirated it from My avatar is one of many creations i made with photoshop

Very nice tutorial. Ryo. Maybe we could spawn a nice collection of how-to's here in the forums.
I proposed the idea to Josh a while back that it might be neat to have a section devoted to developing tips, tricks and "Please help me's I am just gonna die if I don't figure out how to do this!'s" too. ;D

Yea sure just send me a tell or pm about what you want and I could make a thread that is step-by-step on how to with whatever people wish. I honestly rather enjoy doing stuff that will in the long run help out the people of Baldur's Gate.

Awesome!! Great thanks!!
now any cleric can read lecture about his god, or tell anyone a really long story, which will be prepared before telling. Also it very good for traders, to invite clients, or for me, inviting to gamble - i can put all rules in that thing, not to tape it to everyone new! Brilliant! Thanks Ryo and thanks Heed, creator of PC Tools.

This is very helpful, but macros are still not saved after you log out or on a server reset. I'm still not sure which, but my macros are always erased when I log back in after a while.

You are right they do not saved, I believe it was working roughly after Beta 5 and earlier.
*Just tested, it does save upon logging out and back in. I do believe it resets when the server resets.

I am not to sure now, it has reset and now I still have my macro. I would have to say the macro system is working properly.

I am not to sure now, it has reset and now I still have my macro. I would have to say the macro system is working properly. However, I tested this and LOST all my macros to a reset about a week ago. If they haven't worked on it yet, I'd say it is NOT fixed yet and that you got lucky.
