If you are in violation of this rule, please post the following information to change your character name:
1) Account name 2) Current character name 3) New character name
In another week, the staff will assign a name to the character if it's in violation of this rule.
Only post in this thread if you are in violation of this rule.
Thanks

Got Josh's notice about this, so am posting with a question.
In lieu of a name, is a blank or space appropriate? I simply don't wish to have to deal with the metagaming of floating names being assumed by everyone who can read it.

Whereas once I had this problem with several players, I have not come across a single person who has done it to me in the past four months or so. I don't think you will have much problem, either.

Yes, but you also don't play a character who assumes various identities or aliases. I don't want to have people magically know who I am at any given moment. It's confusing, it's frustrating, and it defeats the purpose of roleplaying learning a given character's name and identity. I'll comply with the requested name change, even though I strongly disagree with it; but I'd rather have a nonsensical string of text as my name than anything that can be construed as a proper name that can be metagamed. As such I'll submit the following. Let me know if this is still not acceptable. 1) Account name= Ming-Ming 2) Current character name= Young Girl 3) New character name= Badstrref Kudos to anyone who gets the BG series joke there. :-)

Mingming.. from personal experience with aliases, false names, mixed identities and so on.. I had a character called "The Imp"... gave many names to different factions and using different disguises/personas...
In my experience I dont think being called "abcde" would be any less metagamed than "Young Girl" or "MingMing". Unfortunately some people see the tag and they remember the tag.. regardless of what it is.
If you named yourself "Badstrref" you could give all the names in the world to other players and you'd end up being known as "Badstrref" to the player behind the character. Just gotta ignore those people I guess.

The disguise kits on TFR worked without problems. The only hickup was that if you logged off with the kit equipped, your fake name would show up on the chat list and player list - which made it hard for people to send tells. It was easily fixed by simply unequipping the kit and relogging, though. A very handy item, that kit, that really helped RP a lot.
